Ive been going to Jameson Brown for a few months now, amazed that (a) there is an actual alternative to Urth in this town now (as far as quality of whole bean coffee to go); and (b) theyre within walking distance of Bungalow Heaven and Pasadena City College. For weeks these guys were rewarding customers with a free cup of joe for getting the word out, and it probably says something that I skipped the free coffee and the review for fear that eventually I would be waiting in a line out the door. That day is probably still coming. Two critical coffeehouse ingredients are perfected at Jameson Brown. First, the coffee. Its not the hugest variety, and its not all organic, but it is obviously roasted by people who know what theyre doing. Its just a top-notch product every time, from African to South American to French Roast. Ive never been disappointed, and Im pretty critical of lame coffee. Second, the *people*. These people are the real deal. Remember the good old days when the people who met with you face to face and answered your questions and served you were actually the people personally invested in the store? I do, and every time I visit Jameson Brown Im reminded of why that works. Because every time I go in I get personal, friendly service from intelligent people whove put a stake in the ground of Los Angeless coffee scene and are obviously very happy to politely defend it. Kudos.

After reading the reviews here, I decided to drive from Burbank to get a small roaster coffee. Well, after drinking coffee at world class places, I have to tell you I wasnt impressed with the coffee. Not bashing the staff or the ambiance, even though the staff was overwhelmed. You never, EVER, leave product open to the air. They had all of their wholesale product in barrels without any kind of cover over them. Sorry guys, but this is DISGUSTING seeing that its an edible. The roast completely hid the taste of the beans, even though I had a light roast, then tried the medium roast and espresso, which were both meh. When you advertise as a small roast coffee shop, please remember taste is everything. Lastly, after receiving my credit card bill, an extra dollar was added to the bill. I always, ALWAYS tip in cash and not my CC to service workers to make sure they receive the tip. I would have just rated this a one star experience, but I appreciate the effort to at least open a shop to compete with the dirty sock tasting chain coffee houses.

I may be biased, so you are warned. However, I have spoken to many fellow customers of Jamison Brown over the years. Among those who stay and enjoy their coffee and pastries the consensus I have found is that they really like the vibe Jamison Brown has. For many, it is social place to meet up with a few (or new) friends before going out into the world to slay their personal dragons of the day. Others, those who usually take their drinks and snacks to go, happily wait in line for the quality, value, cheerful staff and, well... they tell me they just like the place. I am a proud father. My daughter manages Jamison Brown. She cares about her staff and her customers like few other people I have ever met in my life. I have an idea that you can find an excellent cup of coffee, a bit of comfort, and a smile if you need one, anytime you want to stop by.

There is something about this coffee spot. There is only street parking available, but a neighborhood backstreet with no crowding problems. From the outside it does not look like a coffee shop, but a windowless warehouse and a not-so-welcoming storefront. Even the inside looks like a converted warehouse. No matter. -=-Lavender Coffee-=- I havent had a coffee quite like this....anywhere. Funny thing is that a small cup of lavender goes for the same price as any other large size coffee, and it only comes in one size, small. I think of the lavender coffee here as a floral flavored latte, but something in the lavender just gets to you like crack. Try one of these atleast once in your life. Youll probably think its unique as well.

First time in Pasadena, CA and my first stop was Sight glass Coffee. Hands down one of my favorite shops. Cozy and hipster. In love with the vibe. Something about the rustic wood and metal combo that just feels at home. Since this is their company headquarters as well its a very large space. This shop is two floors of pure joy. I could definitely spend hours and hours here just passing the time, working, with friends, etc. Workers are very friendly. Sight glass definitely offered an immersive coffee experience as they advertise. Well done.Ordered a good old fashion cappuccino. It was delightful. I would happily come back anytime. Unfortunately all their locations are in Pasadena, CA , but thats also what makes them special.

Jameson Brown Coffee Roasters is one of my favorite places to have coffee during the colder winter months. The fireplace, couches, bookshelves, and chair cushions give it a warm, fuzzy feeling. The coffee is roasted on-site, usually the night before. If you are lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the roaster during a late afternoon. The coffee is excellent and if it is too strong or weak for your liking, the weight staff will happily amend it. Plenty of seating space and the audience is always mixed with a nice combination of leisure readers, college and grad students, as young professionals.

Ive been drinking Jameson Brown Coffee since one of the owners was roasting beans in his back yard in a hot air popcorn popper; this guy has a true connoisseurs understanding of coffee roasting and no other coffee comes close. The coffee house is a unique, friendly, comfortable little place to sit and enjoy a cup. The coffee drinks are also excellent and beautifully presented. All the people are friendly and helpful. Good to see them doing so well and finding such an appreciative crowd of regular customers.

Discovered this place not long after they opened their Brick&Morter location. Not only did they search out the best beans available, they allowed me to create a blend of my own choices roasted as I specified. How cool is that? One of my brothers was visiting from up north and he is a big coffee drinker but has always used cream & sugar. When he tasted their coffee he stopped using anything in it. What better testimonial can there be. When you check in, ask for Campfire Blend (my personal favorite).

Park along Locust St since they dont really have their own parking lot. Just walking up to their building, you can smell their roasted coffee beans. There are 8 barrels of different coffee beans for purchase. If you like they drip coffee, Id recommend buying some for your home. Tried their Vienna Latte; reminds me of a Spanish Latte but not as good. I prefer their regular Latte, although Ive only had everything iced since its the summer. Way better than Intelligentsia of Old Town Pasadena

They sell green coffee for home roasting! (: Great coffee, new roast everyday off the espresso machine.. good locally made pastries, a fair amount of seating and outdoor seating also. I enjoyed a quad espresso, which was about $3.80? If memory serves... Pretty reasonable prices.. their lattes are two shots in a small, three in a medium and four in a large which is a great balance to the milk I think. High quality micro foam from the baristas, they use whole milk (:
