Eleno is one of the Most charming, and gracious men i have met... probably since my Father, who died in 2003. he is well versed, spiritual and so comfortable to b in the company of that i could sit and share and he shared with me all day. few people are as warm and welcoming. i will be hopefully leaving this area soon and i must say that he will be the smile in the Cafe"aulait that i will miss. As i get on in years i am very ":alone " and the small time he has taken to know me kept me going!!! Great coffee, u feel as though Frida Khalo ould walk in at any moment, i am sure her spirit has had an espresso or two! i pray for a life partner so charming and so elegant. when its busy its still stress free people. the caged bird sings for its owner! This review is long over due. I travel for work and I find small coffee shops like this and become a regular for the time Im in the area. The decor the atmosphere the owner all great. I ate breakfast and lunch there for the better part of 2 months. A year later visiting I stopped in and the owner remembered me and my favorite sandwich. Getting to know the owner he is the kindest and most outgoing person. Long Beach is home to many curb side donut and coffee houses. But if you are ever in the area and you want a real, quiet, where everyone is excepted this is your place. When I visit again in April the shop will be my second stop. First being Randys burgers hahaha(sorry bird cage). But I know he again will remember me and my favorite sangy. Thanks for the great service and hospitality

This is without a doubt my favorite spot in Long Beach. It feels like a little paradise inside a coffee shop. They make the BEST cafe mochas. I love sitting in the little patio area, because I feel like Im in a forest. Greenery, knick knacks, flowers, art..so beautiful. In the back they now have a little cage of doves (Birdcage, get it?) and I love to watch them and listen to them. Very laid back, Ive never been there when its very crowded, of course I go in the early mornings. Servers and owners are wonderful as well!

Great coffee! Check out the Birdcage for some fantastic local flavor and interesting variety. Be sure to bring your cash. Thats all they take, and its totally worth the tiny inconvenience. This is basically a kick back coffee lounge. The outdoor seating is nice and relaxing. The drinks are delicious. And the service has always been top notch. This small business is neighborhood friendly and I love living close by. This place is totally worth a visit whenever you are close by!

Ideal place to girl chat with a cup of coffee, read or study. The ambience is nice and relaxing. The cozy outdoor patio is big enough to fit maybe 6people. It seems like Mexican hot chocolate is the must-have-item here. I was craving for coffee that didnt taste like Starbucks so I ordered an ice vanilla latte... It was ok. Its not something ill drive 10minutes for but I am willing to try their hot chocolate next time I visit.

Lived across the street for a few months, only just actually checked them out (I dont drink coffee much, and they dont have that much else.) But I was in one of those moods last weekend where I really wanted some caffeine: their iced white mocha was pretty fantastic. Way better than Starbucks, and way cheaper, too. Itd be a pretty cozy place to hang out, too, if you were looking for that.

I must say, the owner is a wonderful guy. Very kind hearted. I had no cash with me on my first time coming in. Instead of sending me to the ATM, he told me to just pay him next time! What a rare gem to find a place like this. They serve Italian coffee which I had never had. The atmosphere is something I had been searching for in a coffee shop since I moved from the Northwest recently.

I love this little locally owned coffee shop! The owner is very helpful and friendly and the price is more than justified by the quality of the coffee + the speed and courtesy of the service, not to mention the beautiful shop with indoor, outdoor and patio seating and the all around ambiance (and free WiFi!)

Great place with a very friendly atmosphere. The Owner and employees are always very happy to see anyone who walks in the door. The coffee is delicious, but so is their fresh made juice and other goodies! Such a relaxing vibe as well, I definitely recommend grabbing a drink and taking a seat outside...

How often do you get delicious food and coffee combined with the warmth of family and eclectic decor thats welcoming while thought provoking? The birdcage delivers. Eleno makes a mean iced Americano. The cheesecake and turkey croissantwich are delicious. Free WiFi tops the cake.
