My girlfriend and I went to Luigis for a takeout order of pizza and chicken risotto. The restaurant had sticky tables, wobbly chairs, cardboard on the ground with food all over it, and holes in the ceiling. There were no other customers in line to order and it took a good 10 minutes for a very nice lady to get Lugi to notice us and take our order. It took another 90 minutes to prepare our food. Additionally during our wait, the staff was cussing at each other about taking phone orders. They were prepping food on the front counter...where customers were putting down potentially dirty objects like pursues and childrens shoes. Furthermore, another customer had ordered a basic pepperoni pizza 45 minutes in advanced, and they didnt even start making it yet. They told her 20 more minutes and she left at 20 minutes. Finally, we got our takeout...it was cold, uncooked and the wrong order... I only got 1 of the 3 toppings I requested and paid for them....and the girlfriend who told them she has a seafood allergy had seafood in her "chicken risotto"...luckily there was alot of it in big chunks; so we didnt take a trip to the E.R. Be cautious visiting this establishment. I wont be visiting again.

Drove from Loma Mar to find this small off the beaten path Italian restaurant. Dont let the simple decor mislead you, this is authentic Italian fare with a small town charm. Chicken scallopini was flavorful with just the right amount of mushrooms and onions. Linguini with white clamp sauce loaded with tender clams. Pizza was hand tossed, loaded with cheese and sweet pizza sauce. Tortellini with pesto sauce with just the right amount of basil and garlic. Save room for dessert...cappuccino cake was wonderful. Homemade spumoni was refreshing. We will return...reasonable prices and delicious food.

We ordered a meatball sandwich & a rice ball to share as snack. It was soooooo good. The rice ball was crispy on the outside with soft rice on the inside - the core of the ball is like meatball meat accented w green peas. The whole ball is served in a bowl of pasta sauce. The meat ball sandwich was also a pleasant surprise with crispy delicious - non-soggy bread. Super friendly staff. I wish i live here so i can go here all the time.

Being able to go to my Sicilian Grandfathers Italian Clubs as a child made me very picky about my Italian food. When you walk into Luigis it has that same smell I remember from those clubs. We only found this place last year and now go all the time. If you like authentic Italian food you need to try this place. The décor is like those clubs also, very simple and comfortable. You need to try Luigis! M

This is by far the worst dining experience Ive had since moving to the area...and I eat at McDonalds. I feel bad giving a negative review because Luigi is such a nice guy, but the food here is terrible! The chicken had to be at least three days old, sauces seem to be store bought, and shrimp in pasta had tails and needed to be peeled. I will never go back there and recommend you dont either!

Something out of the 1950s card club era. We ordered the calzone and it was amazing, handmade light dough with flavor, crispy but not flakey just wonderful. Salad was plain lettuce, but the dressing also house made wad delicious. Overall not expensive and not fancy, but authentic hearty. Luigi is a gem, youll know who he is as soon as you walk in.

Terrible terrible terrible service, if youre thinking about going here dont. The food took nearly an hour and there was only three of us! Our waiter came by and took our order 20 mins after he came by and put ice in our cups, one of which he spilt on my mom, food was cold and unsatisfying. Too bad I cant give 0 stars

The service was really good; however, the food wasnt amazing. It seemed to be lacking a bit in flavor. All-in-all, it was a really nice place, and I might go back if I were near by and in the mood for Italian food.

Pizza is good. 3 stars because I ordered the fettucini alfredo with chicken. I was served but they didnt give me utensils and had to wait for them. Would return for pizza.

The food was great as was the service. I got the gyro with lamb. The dolmas were excellent. The restaurant was super clean. The only drawback is they arent near me.

Yummy and great value. I always hesitate to step into Italian restruant that i ran into because I felt them too formal. This is the casual and simple one I like.

Luigis pizza and calzone are sublime, and each time were there, hes in the kitchen and dining room looking after things. Like a little piece of the old country!

The food here is very good. Ive enjoyed it every time. What I didnt enjoy is how slow service is here. If you have the leisure time, this place is a good value.

Maybe a bad day. Authentic, nice people but one dish a no show. Heineken actually a Perino. Remember the average rating includes those from four years ago.

Very disappointed. Chicken Alfredo sauce had no taste, no white meat. Wings were interesting, but not buffalo, pizza was good but not worth the price

Calzone was disgusting, uneatable, nothing short of vomit, like something that was poured out of a garbage disposal. Picture speaks for itself.
