Super cute wine spot with friendly staff and great happy hour deals! I stopped in on a Monday evening around 6pm with a girlfriend. We sat at the front bar and browsed the menu. They were running happy hour until 6:30pm so we quickly ordered some wine and a cheese/charcuterie plate. Ambiance - 4 stars. The place is cozy with a bar in the back and a bar in the front, then several tables for two or four. It felt part wine bar, part beach spot, and casual as can be, no pretentious winos here. Care 2015 Solidarity Rosé Tempranillo - 4 stars. A really awesome, middle-of-the-road rosé. Not overly sweet, not overly dry. A perfect pink color. Tasted of strawberries and peach with slightly creamy notes. AND a portion of the proceeds go to breast cancer patients in Spain! Aveleda 2016 Quinta da Aveleda Vinho Verde - 3 stars. Weaker on the mineral flavors than I was hoping for but still quite tasty, perfect for a summer day. Cheese & charcuterie plate - 5 stars. Beautifully plated, quality meats and cheeses. Plenty of bread (and offers to bring more when we ran out)! I loved the variety in the types of cheeses and meats and the accompaniments of honey, nuts, craisins, mustard, etc. layered on the flavors. Quite a bit of food for two people. Service - 5 stars. Both servers were very friendly, attentive to our needs, happy to give us tastes, and more than willing to make recommendations. If I lived locally, I could totally see this becoming my go-to spot. Instead, Ill just have to make it a point to visit when Im around.

Atmosphere: Comfortably cultured. This isnt a place to swill cheap beer or 2 Buck Chuck and get hammered, but its not so rigid that you cant talk, laugh, and enjoy yourself while here. The clientele is a healthy mix of regulars, locals, and tourists. You can easily come here for a romantic night with your date, a good time with a few friends, or to meet new friends at the bar. Most folks quickly settle in and relax and are friendly. Decor: Warm colors and a faux fireplace make the place feel like a safe home away from home. The walls are adorned with a changing cycle of local artwork that gives you new things to discover each visit. There is a schedule of local and national musicians playing, as well as vent nights (Trivia, comedy, art showings ,etc.). Service: If you want fast food style turn around, its best to go somewhere else. If you want to be helped by people who will take the time to explain their menu to you (wines change on a monthly basis), and help you make selections - this is a wonderful haven. They are freindly, efficient, and genuine in their desire to get you a nice wine, beer, or even soju drink, and keep to a leisurely pace that says "Relax, enjoy yourself!" An empty glass wont be empty too long, unless you are throwing back your wine in gulps! This is definitely my favorite local haunt.

What a warm and homey place this is. Beth is a great hostess, and this is a happening spot in Pacifica, with music almost every night. The food is wonderful too: empanadas (the beef and the caprese are my favorites), cheese and charcuterie plates, mini beef pot pies, and wonderful deserts. The wine is varied and delicious, and Beth can recommend to you what you will want to drink by just telling her what you like. And people are friendly! A Grape in the Fog has regulars coming from Glen Park because the atmosphere in Pacifica is so down-to-earth; few here judge people by their clothes because so many of us are artists and wood workers and people who like to make things. Plus theres a lot of musicians, which makes A Grape in the Fog a very entertaining place. Pacifica is becoming a destination spot for so many reasons, but A Grape in the Fog is a major reason to visit. Walk on the beach, then walk to the local wine bar. Its all very close.

Great little spot. Very laid back but still elegant in a relaxed way. The food is way better than one would think considering how small the kitchen area is. The wine selections are always spot on. Hard to wrong with any choice on the list. Not just good quality but wines that are not often available by the glass. And so importantly, the red wine is served at the proper temperature. So many bay area places server their red wine way too warm so that the acid and alcohol taste and feel sharp like broken glass. Not Grape in the fog. Great location as well. after a couple glasses of wine or beer, one can walk easily in three minutes to the trail to see the ocean pound on the rocks. Sometimes they have live music (though I prefer the usual background music so I can converse in a civil manner), but many people enjoy that sort of thing. Its one of those places where every time you leave, you say "We should come here more often."

Atmosphere: Relaxed, cozy and inviting. The owner brings in live music on a rotating basis, so it adds to the ambiance Decor: Photographs adorned the wall and it has a wine country feel inside. I like how there appeared to be a wine stain on the menu -- nice touch! ;) Service: The food, especially the hummus plate and Marcona almonds (lavender), is really good here (Id skip the kale and mushroom plate though, but I think that was the special of the night). The owner is friends with my boyfriend so she came over to chat with us but I think she is really into cultivating a sense of community. When I talked to a shop owner around the block, she mentioned the wine bars owner as hosting a craft night, so I totally applaud that!

12/31/11 for a late lunch. Cute place with a nice selection of some wines and cheeses with a few other food items. We enjoyed the wine and the cheese on a day when most places were closed or bracing for the big night - so the fact that the cheese was still a bit too chilled and the wait a bit long (actually the door was locked and we had to call to get in) didnt keep us from having a very nice time. Maybe next time were in the area well try it again. It was a nice west coast mellow vibe for some frantic east coast travelers!

The wine was good, however, the service really was awful! We had an ant crawling around in the brie; they tried to over charge us; it took them over 20 minutes to bring our wine & there were only 2 other people there; the cook was very rude to all of us - I am an excellent tipper & if they had not charged an automatic 18% for the 6 if us, they would not have gotten anything

Fantastic, low key place with friendly staff, a constantly changing selection of wines, and tasty light appetizers. Frequent live music, receptions with local artists, comedy, and wine education nights with winemakers. We have been to this wine bar several times a month over the last year or so, and we always have a great time, meet up with old friends, and make new ones.

Relaxed and friendly place for small bites and a glass of wine. Tell them what youre in the mood for, and theyll make a spot on recommendation. Small wine list, but good choices over a nice range. Not noisy, good for small groups, nice outdoor patio if the weather is good.
