I am not going to judge everybody in this establishment, I have been here many times and have gotten great service. Today there was this one Caucasian waitress and there was many seats in the front , but she decided to sit me in the very back at the darkest corner of the establishment. When I looked where I was being seated the demographic looked totally different if you know what I mean. I than asked to be seated in the front of where there was more light, this girl caught such an attitude it made me fell sorry. Its like she was trying to ke a certain demographic of people away from the front. Than she came and asked for my brother in laws Identification knowing he was under 21 than told us to leave with a very bad attitude. Rules are rules, but when you look at around and you see young men and women that dont look an age over 17, you cant help, but to fell like you are being targeted. I am Dominican Puerto Rican from Brooklyn and an active duty Army SSG and Vet. I do not want special treatment, but to be treated like any other human being in the world.

A mix of bizarre - but - beautiful steelworks decorates every location of the Matador that Ive ever seen. However comma I had never actually eaten in one until last night. We found the staff to be accommodating comma having been seated before the 30 minutes estimate that we were given at the door. My wife and I enjoy great Mexican food and we were not disappointed with the Matador. Every dish we had from the queso fundido to the Street Taco flight had an excellent depth of flavor. Every sauce and smell was distinct and authentically Latin American. They presented a wide variety of flavorful yet not so spicy chiles and every dish that my wife and I had. My wife enjoyed the Tamarind margarita that her friend recommended to her but it might have been the least distinctly flavored item that we sampled. I highly recommend this restaurant based on our experience at the Tacoma location.

Bought a Gift Card at Costco, but server wouldnt give Five Star points... Been here multiple times with Gift Cards and they always give me my points! Server, Chelsea, was rude and didnt care... Bartenders were overloaded, does not operate well under pressure... Took forever for food and longer for drinks... Gift Cards were purchased by ME and same as Cash, so dont take No for an answer when trying to use your Five Star point card! Not a good experience for the money I paid! This place isnt exactly Cheap!!! what happened to the customer is always right or being a polite server so you earn a good tip! and why would the owner care if Im using a gift card or not... Pedro is the only good bartender and he works weekends! He has always given perfect customer service and prompt service!

This place has a fun environment but is extremely dark inside. It looks almost castle like inside which is awesome. You must be 21 to eat here though since it is a bar. They dont use blenders in the bar since everything is pre-made. So the drinks are always mixed differently. I had gotten the same margarita so many times, and each time it tasted different. I get sick every time I eat their nachos (first time I thought maybe it was a bad batch. They are all like that apparently) the menu is pretty good and the customer service is alright. They are friendly and usually check back to make sure our table is taken care of. Im giving it four stars because its a fun hang out place and environment, I just like knowing that I can get the same drink every time.

Busy on Sunday, had the worst table (right next to front door) everyone was crowding our table since theres no waiting section. Got our appetizers and finished them before we even got our drinks. All drinks were empty and still hadnt gotten a refill. Finishing the food and our waitress took our chips which we were still eating with our food. Took her forever to come to the table. Sat at the table for 10 mins just waiting for the check. Took her another 10 mins just to give us our cards back. Been there since 4pm and its now 630pm Ive never spent that long at a place just for dinner.

This restaurant is 21+ only. The Happy Hour runs from 4pm-6pm and 10pm-1am. I highly recommend their nachos grande, as is quite inexpensive during happy hour. Its $5 without meat and $8 with chicken. Im unsure what the carne asada price is. Its enough to feed two. The itself is beautifully decorated and its not loss and obnoxious like many mexican restaurant and bars. Because of the age restriction I thought the place would be full of belligerent drunks but it was far from that. Also the age restriction keeps loud screaming kids out. The service was quite good as well, even at 11pm.

Our server was nice, attentative, and funny. The atmosphere was a bit stuffy and pretentious, but he made the experience enjoyable. As for the food, it was a hit or miss. I was excited for the grilled octopus, but found it very salty. Ive had it elsewhere and much better. The same for the romaine salad, which was salt on lettuce leaves. My husband had the gnocchi, which either me or my friends could have made better. The only satisfying part of my dining experience was the miyazaki kuroge wagyu and bread. I was really disappointed.

Crazy long wait on a Saturday night but is to be expected as this place is awesome! Delicious drinks, well made! Terrific food- I was in love with the fish tacos. The hostess was a charming woman who smiled each of the fifteen times I asked if our seat was ready. Our waitress was an ANGEL, she even moved our order up ten tickets to account for the wait being triple as long as had been told. Overall a great place and regardless of the crazy rush of people, it was still kinda cozy. In a downtown Tacoma kind of way :)

Every time my wife and I come here it is absolutely delightful!! The food, the service, the atmosphere is wonderful! We love the carna Asada quesadilla! But to be honest everything is truly amazing!! I could eat the guacamole by the spoonful! And if you come do not skip on dessert because the chocolate decadence cake definitely cures a sweet tooth!! Oh and the staff seriously couldnt be any sweeter. This is an excellent place

Food was pretty tasty, seasoned well and arranged well. A little pricey for what you get. The atmosphere was the big downfall. I really felt like I was intruding, kind of bothering them by being there! The place may have been super busy just before I got there, it was not when I arrived. Thats the only thing I could think of as to why it felt an looked so filthy. I doubt I would go back, nor could I recommend it.

Ive been coming here for years but lately the service has been less than subpar. If you want your nachos with a side of attitude then come here. They rudest person is the hostess who Im sure is the racist person. Totally didnt take my name down and waited at the bar for over an hour while watching other people get seated. Unless you have blonde hair and an American name dont expect to get a seat anytime soon.
