e ate here tonight.. our server was great.. I ordered a spider roll with the avicado on the side as i am allergic to the fruit b ut my isnt so she can have that came with my order... our food came.. guess what.. avocado in the roll that i ordered... of course they placed my order together with my wifes order on the same plate.. when i told our server she immediately said she will have the kitchen re-order me a new one apologizing for the mistake. She came back after a few minutes with the owner and the ower said just remove the avocado and eat it.. ????...really and have an Anaphylactic shock and die??..really the owner asks a patron if they can just remove the avocado..wow... anyway she agrees to make us a new one... then she sends back our server and tells her to take back the plate and bring it back to the kitchen, with my wifes food in the same plate that she was already eating.. this is very unsanitary and the health department should be aware of this practice and i will make sure that they look into this practice..food service managers are trained that went prepared food passes the counter that it does not come back into the kitchen. ..my wife was half way through her food and they want to take it back to the kitchen with the roll that had avocado and do what??... they want to save a buck and re-use the crab inside the roll.. omg.. these guys are such a rip-off... the food wasnt even good.. then we get the bill and the poor server tells us they will have her pay for the kitchens mistake.. so i told her its ok.. i paid for 2 orders of the spider roll that had no taste and left the waitress a $10 tip despite of the mistake on the order.. i have never been to a restaurant that is willing to loose future business and charge their customers the$15 extra for a mistake their kitchen made.... the server pleads with us not to put in a review on yelp as she may get fired.. If she does she is better off.. i wouldnt want to work for someone who treats their customers this way..we love small businesses and support them but when they mistreat the same local customers that make their business thrive then itsnot worth supporting. ... we came here to see the place and planned on having my daughters bday party and wanted to rent the tatami room.. more than likely an easy $1k transaction. ... but this experience has left such a bad taste that we wont even bother..... i will go to sushiholic.. or some other place .. stay away!.. place SUCKS and def not cheap

I Ordered the chicken teriyaki. Its was chicken that had grill marks on it from pre made chicken from a package. The teriyaki sauce tastes like from a package, it was horrible. Then you get a big pile of cabbage with just mayo. I looked around and didnt see anybody eating this. The soup had tofu in it, how and why would that ever happen. I have eaten soup at Japanese restaurants in over thirty states and never ate tofu in a soup. Yuck. I did notice the majority of customers seem to order and like their sushi. Maybe this the magic that people would ever give four stars. I will pass on this place. I hope if you try this restaurant then maybe you will go with someone that normally eats here and they would have better suggestions. I just wont be joining the party. #timsamstravelusa

My wife and I used to go to Taki twice a week for several years. The manager new us by name and we got to know him fairly well. The sushi there was always the best and now we go there once per year only because we have children now and its hard to go anywhere. It is the best sushi and they give you a very fair amount compared to other places we have been to in Marin. There is only one other sushi restaurant that is comparable in terms of how much you get and the price.

We lived in novato, ca for around a year for the reason that my husband is in the military so we looked for a sushi place and found this one and the inside blew me away i havent gone to a sushi place that has such detail in there design it was fantastic and the food was ALWAYS! great but we did move but are considering to move back just for the reason for the sushi love it, miss it, recommend it.

Very good food especially the miso soup though we wish we had gotten more tofu. What I like most was the service. We arrived around 8:30 but they didnt mind serving us at all. Very friendly and prompt service. The staff at some restaurants give you dirty looks when you walk in at that time so we werent sure what to expect. The place was bustling at 8:30 much to our relief.

Went for lunch the other day for the first time. Large pieces of sushi. Very fresh and tasty. I am half Japanese and know my sushi. I will return again. Service is okay. We kept having to ask for refills on our drinks as they never offered to do so. Sushi chefs did a great job with preparation and presentation. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This place has a very nice ambiance with tables that are partitioned off so that you can enjoy your dinner with your company. There is also a nice traditional seating area as well as a sushi bar. The real reason this place is great though is the food. They have a nice selection of rolls and other items that will have something for everyone.

Theres a difference between good sushi and great sushi. The chefs here are on point. They have the fresh cuts and the fresh catch. Octopus? Say no more bro. Oh, you dont like octopus? Well fire up the spider roll. Youre from Philadelphia? Get the Philadelphia roll. Get the picture? Go here, you wont be disappointed!

I went there yesterday and it was my first time the food was a little expensive but the fish in the fountain were also cool the food are the best the rice and the chicken tasted good together I am hoping I will make it again to the place again but hope it is cheaper Don’t want to waste too much money

Amazing. Literally we walked in at 9:20 not knowing they closed in ten minutes and they insisted we sit down and relax and eat instead of ordering to go (we felt bad at first) they were the best service I have ever had at any restaurant ever. I will absolutely be going back. Great food, great people.

Ignored me and my date at the front serving others first that aruved later, was given a false list of drinks that the waiter told me after checking... then 20+m min wait for 2 rolls of sushi.. took my drink before i was done.. cost to much not coming back

My only complaint: its a little noisy. Family friendly, which means loud little people, which can sometimes get on the nerves of a person who just wants a quiet dinner with a Beloved Other. Love the koi pond!

Large sushi portions of fresh fish. However, I dont recommend the tempura because the batter is not authentic Japanese style. It is heavy dough (not light and crispy) and appears to be simply flour and water.
