Just imagine satisying your craving of wonderfully made Italian food as if invited into someones home kitchen, sitting down in a very casual setting, watching your food being made in an open kitchen and enjoying it without all the fuss of a formal restaurant. This is a place where you can eat and relax or run, or just take it home. The food is simple with very fresh and high quality ingredients. They make food they love. And it is good! Fresh pastas, soups, sauces, meaballs, lasagna, all made daily. Thin crust pizza is baked in a wood-fired oven at blistering temperatures, turned and handled with special know-how to get that pizza just right. Its unique and worth making it a regular stop even if for a delicious, freshly made Cannoli to go.

Last night we enjoyed the bolognese fettuccine, meatball sandwich and a cannoli. The fettuccine was made with mushrooms and was oh-so-great! I cannot recommend Via Rosa highly enough. Last night was my first visit. The menu is limited; limited to excellence, which is always a delight. You can also purchase ingredients, fresh pasta, sauces, etc to cook at home. I was told that if one calls a day or two ahead, it is possible to make special requests for specific Italian dishes. Via Rosa will procure the ingredients and have your hearts desire waiting for you upon your arrival. Ample parking is available, so do yourself a favor: escape the bustle and parking hassle of Winslow by heading north to Via Rosa.

Yummy authentic Italian place with decent pricing. I like that there are different pastas on display to choose from to go along with the sauce. The marinara is fresh tasting and didnt give me heartburn like other red sauces do. Very happy. The pizza is a must. The daughter of the owner gave some good insight into helping choose a sauce and pasta to complement the sauce. Highly recommended

Incredible authentic food in a surprising location. Owner was fantastic and came to our table to make recommendations. Food was fresh and everyone in our group of six LOVED what they ordered. The pizza is wood fired in an oven you see from the tables and the whole kitchen is in view from wherever you sit. Small and almost cafeteria looking, but the food quality is that of a five star restaurant!

You often see restaurants say "A taste of..." But this little Italian place is as good and better than many of the local places I ate in while I lived in Rome... I could not recommend this restaurant enough. Charming, and fantastic food (the burrata was packed with flavour and the tomatoes ripe as no other Ive tasted in the US).

LOVE this place!!!! Best pasta ever w fresh sauces and perfect flavor combinations we never would have considered. E.g. Beet ravioli w Gorgonzola sauce. WOW! And their fresh porcini sauce when its in season? Out of this world. We always bring an ice chest so we can stock up. Its a very casual ace w a stunningly great kitchen.

Love this place. We live close by and are there at least once a week, for a snack or a dinner. Dont expect fancy, (order at the counter) but the food rivals any formal restaurant. Thanks so Pinot who does a great job with the food and the staff, who are always happy to help with suggestions and provide great service.

This place is great. Sort of a combination of a grocery (with fresh sauce & pasta) and a cafe. It is, by far, the best place for Italian on BI (probably in Kitsap County, too) and the best pizza on the island. Its also the only place Im aware of on the rock where you can get a fresh cannoli.

Better food then in Italy. I have eaten all over Italy and I have not found any better pizza or pasta than what you will find at Via Rosa. Always get Pizza Rivera when you stop in, the crust is amazing.

I was skeptical as it was a bit of a drive and prices are high , but the food is really good and worth it. Not a great place to sit though.
