Asian Box makes really delicious and fast Asian fusion food. Ive been here so many times because theyre so consistent with their food. This restaurant is somewhat like advanced Chipotle for Asian foods. There are certainly a lot more choices to choose. Heres what I recommend: Base: Chilled Rice Noodles because the brown rice and jasmine rice are a bit plain in comparison. However, this is the least important choice since the rest of the ingredients easily drown out the base. Meat: Go with your favorite. Beef, shrimp, and chicken are my favorites. Topps: You MUST get the crispy shallots. They are amazing. I like them just as much as I love the legendary grilled onions from Liba Falafel. I also recommend the chopped peanuts, bean sprouts, and scallion oil. Skip the caramel eggs. Sauce: I recommend mixing Peanut Sauce and Miss Jones Sriracha. Its the perfect blend, and its not too spicy. Tamarind Vinaigrette + Peanut Sauce and No-Oil Fish Sauce + Peanut Sauce are also great combos. In fact, you just cant go wrong mixing Peanut Sauce with anything. Lastly, the employees running the MV Asian Box have always been very attentive and know how to make their customers feel appreciated. Service here is excellent.

Always a pretty good place to eat for people with Celiac Disease. Its a healthy, fast food, rice box/bowl place. 100% gluten-free, without risk of cross contamination. Its a great place for vegetarians, too, but they do have meet products that they serve. They handle shellfish here too. They have multiple rices to choose from, plenty of protein options and plenty of toppings and sauces. Theres indoor and outdoor seating, bottled beer and other drinks as well as Thai iced coffee. They have trash, compost and recycling separation as well. They recently added a few televisions and now play popular sporting events. I think youll be able to watch the 2018 World Cup, there. The quality of the food is decent, but not excellent. I am willing to take a hit on the food quality to eat at a place with no risk of gluten contamination, though, especially a place like this that is so environmentally conscious.

Ordered three boxes to go. Halfway to the parking lot the bottom drops out of my bag and I have three boxes distributed all over the parking lot. Its a bummer that they felt like saving a few cents on a bag (crazy thin paper) was worth jeopardizing my lunch. I called the shop and Alex offered to remake my food if I came back in. A) a lunch hour is only an hour and at least some of that hour has to be spent eating the food not watching it get made twice. He also said if I came back another time they would comp a meal. Ill be back sometime around when hell freezes over and if so it will be a different Asian Box location. Goodbye $38 of my money...Good bye to my business at Asian Box...Hello peanut butter and jelly for lunch today. :(

A "build-your-own" meal type of place, Asian box allows lets you choose from a variety of bases (rice, salad, etc.), meats (chicken, pork, ...), toppings, and sauces to create a custom fit meal. Service is pretty speedy and the ingredients seem to be of high quality. The restaurant also champions the whole sustainability philosophy, using lots of recycled and recyclable materials. Its nothing fancy, but very solid "street fare" type food at a fair price. In terms of portion size, they feel just right to me, though some may find their meal to be on the lighter side. Theres a good amount of seating indoors and out, though spots outside do tend to fill up quickly on nice California days.

Can we just get a chipotle version for every type of food please?! I think someone heard me because Asian Box is here! Very similar to how chipotle works so no need to go into details with the choosing process. Their menu is simple and everything on it seems relatively healthy. I tried their tofu curry and I loved their curry sauce. It is darn good. Their tofu is meh but I did enjoy the vegetables and rice with the curry. Next time, Ill go for their six spice chicken as my choice of protein. AND DONT FORGET THE SRIRACHA SAUCE YUM :D The wait time is pretty minimal and the workers are friendly. Quick and easy choice for lunch or dinner!

Went in Jan 2014 with my wonderful local yoga group. Quick, healthy and easy meals where you pick a rice/noddle, then spicy chicken/lamb/tofu curry/beef, then add some vegetables and they serve it in a box - even if youre eating there. I had the curry tofu, but next time Ill go with chicken - I dont want to be too healthy. The idea of wasting a box aside, the food is tasty and very affordable, so would definitely go again. :) The inside of the place is fairly nice too - although seating is a little limited and we were lucky to get the big table at the back to sit the group of us.

This place is amazing and was my regular place for lunch since I work down the same block that this restaraunt is located on. Quick walk a few buildings down and amazing somewhat affordable grab n go like they say. I always got the ox box after i tried everything. I used to go there so much i wouldnt even be saving on my paycheck :D thats how good it is... kept having me coming back for more and more. I was always biting my lip rubbing my wallet .... telling myself... the sacrifice is worth it.... slightly chanting it in my head each step i got closer to the counter.

This is such a great place to stop in for lunch. The meals are very different to ordinary American food but it tastes so fresh and flavorful. The menu is great because it gives you the options to customize everything yourself. You can still go for a pre-made meal if you want to go for something that is already known to taste well together. I recommend the ox box! The pricing is great especially when you consider that everything is prepared in house. This makes for a healthy meal for the health conscious and something different and delicious for everyone.

If you love the culinary excellence of The Slanted Door in San Francisco and the ease of Chipotle dining, then Asian Box is your new go-to restaurant. The concept is simple- select a base (rice, salad, or noodles), choose your protein (tofu, chicken, pork, beef, shrimp), add desired veggies and toppings, and finish it off with a sauce (hint: always go with the peanut sauce). I love Asian Box because I know the ingredients are fresh and sourced locally. The gourmet-fast food is healthy and paleo and gluten-free friendly!

Underestimated this place because of its generic-sounding name, but the concept and food turned out to be fab. Liked being able to customise what goes into the box, and they even offered to do half and half of two different bases (asian salad + chilled rice noodles). The toppings are good and various (you can get just a few or all of them). And the whole thing tasted delicious. Top points for freshness and taste.

I really like this place. Its one of the many restaurants that is copying the Chipotle recipe: base (rice, salad, noodles), protein, extras and sauces. Whats different about Asian Box is that they do an excellent job of making the food taste good (as compared to Spice Kit). As for menu selections, I highly recommend the Miss Jones Sriracha for the sauce, its outstanding.
