I have mixed feelings about this place. The pros: didnt detect any MSG or excessive sodium. Relatively clean for a Chinese restaurant. Service efficient but not outright rude. Dishes are mostly Shanghaiese and not a mixed bag of various regional Chinese cuisines. The cons: portions not that generous. Some dishes are definitely a miss, such as the chicken with chestnuts. The xiaolongbao was very disappointing--6 out of 8 had no soup inside. Overall, not a bad experience. I will give them another try for their dinner service.

Very decent Chinese restaurant if you like food with stronger/heavier taste like me. I especially like that all their food is fresh cooked for your order and you can still feel how hot it is when they come to your table. The price is fair and staff is friendly. I took one star off because they are too popular and the store is a bit small so the wait time is always long. However, if youre looking for shanghai food in Milpitas, this place is a must try. This place is cash only.

First time Milpitas dinner, this Shanghai restaurant is really too delicious. After dinner, I touched the belly full belly very comfortable, secretly vowed will again patronize. Absolutely love this place. I come a few times a week ever since I discovered it. Its delicious, light (not greasy as many Chinese foods) and low-price. All good things combined. Note: 1. its cash only 2. its closed on Monday night and Tuesday noon (??? not sure) and some days around the new year 3. youll have to wait during peak hours (6-7pm).

Small wait but worth it. The cucumber salad was delicious but begged for a little citrus. The pork buns were the highlight of the meal. The spicy wontons were a bit too oily but tasty. The rice cakes and spare rib was good as well. Will def be coming back to try the noodles.

This is one of our family regular Shanghai style restaurants whenever we are in the south bay. The food is authentic. Their hot foods come from a hot wok. I like their kidney with red oil appetizer because it is not overcooked and very tender. Serves family of 6.

Home-style Shanghai food at a very decent price. The food is not greasy nor salty, but still very tasty. Be sure to try their vegetable rice. My other suggestion is to order take out to avoid the long wait for a table.

Low key one of the best and authentic Chinese restaurant in the bay area. 水煮鱼 is a must order. Worth the wait. Dishes taste super great and the broth is good companion if you want to eat more rice!
