Li Yuen was for years our go to restaurant fairly nearby. So disappointed on our recent visit and we feel we cannot go back. The cleanliness of items on the table like the soy sauce containers - well, not clean. Our food was not nearly as good as it used to be. Even the hot mustard , now in a plastic packet, flavorless. How is that even possible? The service did not feel friendly. Maybe this was just an off day so the 2 star

Li yuen is a credible Chinese joint that concentrates on the quality of the food. They havent wasted any money on decor or frills. And the locals seem to like it that way. The server is friendly and courteous and her English improves each year. If you go try the tangerine beef. I have never seen it anywhere else and it should be promoted as their signature piece.

Visited as it has good rating. When we went in, we were greeted by flies flying all over the restaurant. The lady recommended stir fry thick rice noodle which wasnt on their menu. We were disappointed as it was bland, dry and they charged us exorbitant price for it. Their set dinner was alright not fantastic. Will not come back again.

After a long day of traffic and over priced restaurants near the Monterey Bay I was lucky enough to find this spot. Thank goodness for reviews and recommendations. The food was made so quickly, the service was friendly yet not evasive and the quality/quantity was mmm. Price was good as well. 4 to 5 stars.
