The food is still just as good as it was the first time I ate at Millbrae Pancake House...over 20 years ago. Unfortunately, the service is not as good. Those whove been there for a long time still provide excellent, fast, & friendly service...but, in regards to the more recent, younger additions, they dont appear to understand the service part of "customer service". Using my server this morning as a perfect example, he spent more time talking with one of the cooks than he spent keeping an eye on his tables. He never checked back after bringing my breakfast to the table, I had to wait almost 10 minute for him to notice my cranberry juice was empty, and then, instead of bringing another cranberry juice himself, he had a busser bring it (I guess the server couldnt have been bothered). Adding insult to injury, the busser brought hot coffee, not cranberry juice. Ending this mornings fiasco, instead of bringing my check slightly before I was finished, I sat at the table for over five minutes before he bothered to notice, finally bringing my check. If I could give a breakdown on my star-rating, it would be as follows: food - 5, atmosphere - 5, server - 2 (at least he got the order right, & the food was delivered quickly).

Finally tried this place out and came early before the mass crowd decides to come. But already tables were all full. Parking is limited so street parking was needed, which was still up the street from the restaurant . So we walk in and one thing I did notice is one of the greeters kept checking her phone and texting . Not sure if she was texting with management , but I just never saw that in a restaurant. While people are waiting to be seated , kinda felt awkward since I wasnt sure if we just stood there . finally Someone greeted us and were seated within like 20 mins or so. They are pretty fast paced the diners and the servers , so fast that our table had syrup smeared on it still. But it wasnt really a big deal, our server came and had it cleaned up . Food was great and arrived quick the Swedish pancakes was ok, I wasnt a fan or the orange coloring to it . With that said if Im in the area and Im there early enough Ill probably try more things on the menu.

Yummy brunch spot with a cosy feel. == FOOD == Order a Special #1 and a Special #2, they come with eggs, bacon/hash brown and choice of pancakes. We ordered Banana Pancakes and Apple pancake (which are in reality, crepes). Both taste superb and satisfying. The hash browns were super yummy too, and so were the eggs! Their selection of tea is surprisingly limited. They do not have earl grey nor English breakfast. What they had were like Lipton tea, chamomile tea, lemon tea and cranberry and apple. == SERVICE == Generally ok. Polite and expected. For a party of two and we arrived at noon, we waited approx 20mins to get in. == AMBIENCE== This place dates back to 1959!! Cute, vintage environment, gives me a really homely feel. Given how busy the place is, the noise level is kinda on the high side. If you want a peaceful, chill weekend brunch, this might not be the place to be. Overall, recommended place for a weekend brunch.

We came looking for a great breakfast place en route to SFO, since we were in too much of a time crunch to make it to St Michaels in Palo Alto. I didnt expect any other place to live up to St Mikes, but Millbrae Pancake was homey and delicious...not to mention that our waitress served us amazingly quickly so that we had time to enjoy the meal. I have to say that it wasnt what I expected -- the pancakes are not quite pancakes yet not quite crepes, though theyre still delicious, and the waffles are also an interesting breed. But it was an honest-to-goodness hearty, yummy, delightful breakfast, with light whipped butter, great (though not quite fresh-squeezed) orange juice, good maple syrup, nicely poached eggs and absolutely perfect bacon. We wished the whipped cream was fresh-made, but we had no complaints, and my pecan waffle was generously swamped in pecans. This place was definitely a gem of a find.

4 stars? You betcha! Driving back to the San Francisco International airport in the morning deserves a great breakfast and what better food than good old american diner food...specifically PANCAKES! And oh what pancakes they have! Known for their specialty pancakes, this unassuming but pleasantly packed restaurant offers some of the tastiest pancakes AND waffles Ive ever had. Thats saying a lot. Pancakes come in a variety of compositions such as chocolate, pumpkin, blueberry, strawberry, etc. all made with heaping mounds of fresh delicious fruit. The waffles are offered in the same makeup but what I really really like about the waffles is that they arent super thick. They are actually quite thin, perfectly cooked with a delicious crisp to them. The staff is pleasant and the food comes out almost immediately. Needless to say, my expectations were more than exceeded. I will be coming back.

This is a homestyle cafe that serves mostly traditional American breakfast foods. I went on a Sunday and it was very crowded. I got an omelette with the Swedish pancakes and also got to try the normal pancakes. The service was very slow since it was so busy. I had to flag 3 different people before my waitress finally came. The time it took to bring the food out took a while too and I think the waitress said she forgot to put the order in. The food was alright. I had a CA omelette which had avocado and ham and tomato and cheese. It was standard. I didnt particularly enjoy the swedish pancakes and felt like IHOPs were better. The regular pancakes were just ok. I asked for honey and the waitress just laughed at me. I would want to like this place but I really didnt enjoy the service and couldve gotten better crepes at IHOP. Plus the place seems a little unclean.

Totally overrated. Have stopped by a few times and waits have always been too long for me to even consider. Today it was only 30 minutes so I finally took the time. Was seated within about 20 minutes. Menu is huge. Lots of pancakes, waffle and omelette deals. Also house specials. Got a combo plate that included eggs sunny side up, bacon and a waffle for about $10. A bit pricey for this staple but eggs and bacon were good. Waffle ok but no real butter and gross syrup. My GF got the omelette which included sausage, hash brown (asked for extra crispy) and pancakes. Hash brown came out completely under cooked. Sent them back and even though outside was crispy, they were really thick so most of it was still undercooked. Im guessing people come here for the large plates. Its certainly not the quality of the food.

This place was very busy. Service was fast but pushy. I went with my dad and lil. sister for the first time. Place is way too expensive. You better off going to IHOP and spending less of what we paid for. The cost was $47 dollars + $7 tip for three people. Thats alot to spend on breakfast for 3 people when we could of got the same quality food somewhere else for less . Even the waitress there who was serving us said shed rather prefer Burger King than Milbrae Pancake House. Thats funny cuz thats what my sister wanted from the start. The food is just ok, nothing special about the food or pancakes. Food is way overpriced. Sorry but we wont be going back.
