The atmosphere is nice. A great little garden and nice little view into the bay. My beautiful girlfriend had the filet mignon and it was cooked perfectly. She thoroughly enjoyed every component. I had the pork chop. It was seasoned wonderfully and cooked a perfect medium so it was moist and juicy. The parsnip puree was outstanding and the roasted butternut squash and sauce were nice accompaniments. We also happen to be staying here and our room is nicer than we imagined. What a wonderful little find. I would highly recommend this place for dinner, nightly accommodations or both as we did. We had a very nice time in Sonoma for a night and Napa for 2 nights before coming here. We were just hoping that this place wouldnt disappoint... so far this is the best part of our trip. We couldnt have imagined it topping wine country. Wow!

We stayed here one night for a wedding at nearby Mendocino Woodlands. The room is conveniently located near the main strip and natural spouting horn. It is also close to running trails along the cliffs. The room itself is very clean but because they leave the windows open, little bugs can fly in. Downstairs is a little restaurant. It is run by a very nice couple who have lived in the area for a decent amount of time and know a lot about the local residence and history.

This place is popular and rightly so. The ambiance is comfortable. Service was good. The food was great. We had the special of smoked salmon ravioli and caramelized onion tarts. The pesto sauce with the ravioli was yum. The main course was filet mignon. It was cooked to perfection. The dessert was raspberry mousse. It was OK. Nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about either. This place is a definite visit.

A letdown given reviews and the price. Service warm yet aloof. Pork chop had good flavor but came out well done rather than the medium they suggested and I accepted, so it was dry and a little tough. Prawns with risotto were massive but a little plain and there was little risotto. Maybe we just ordered wrong, but my feeling was that Id have been very satisfied at about 2/3 the cost but let down at $28 a plate.

The food was good, but not great. I ordered the seafood Fettuccini and wasnt impressed considering the price, which was about $24 I think. A lot of the food was lacking salt too. Not a huge problem because they have some great sea salt on the table but was necessary to add for me. The goat cheese, roasted almond, beet and strawberry salad was great and the cheesecake was the highlight of the meal.

Stayed two nights! The breakfast each morning was delicious - fresh scones one day with fruit and yogurt, waffles with blueberries & scrambled eggs on Sunday! The accommodations are simple but thoughtfully arranged. Had lunch there, also delicious. Kale Caesar salad from the garden next door (which if you like flowers, youll love) and a grilled cheese with caramelized onions. Delicious!

I had the filet here (medium rare) and my wife had the shrimp. Both were cooked well and the food came out fast. We werent blown away by our meals, but for the area Trillium is probably your best bet for a fine dining menu. Their wine selection was pretty expansive with local Mendocino wineries prominently featured. Oh, and get the cheesecake with marzipan crust, it was delicious!

Food was delectable and service was fast and friendly. We also stayed upstairs in the inn which was perfectly appointed with the added bonus of no t.v. LOVED our stay and this sweet little town. Feel blessed to have had the chance to experience this much hospitality in such a quaint, sleepy beach town. Absolutely with eating and staying here!

Its a very nice house, with a nice quite atmosphere and a nice service (though we got a rude remark for not making a reservation), but the food at dinner was not something to write home about... the soup came out cold, we didnt even finished our plates... Its nice if youre not hungry, and just want a cosy experience.

Waitress was very friendly.... However the kitchen was not accommodating at all!!! Ive come to this cafe for years every trip I make to this area and being a business owner myself I will have to say its unfortunate that the chefs attitude is a reflection of this business and because of that I will not come back.

This may have been an off night, and I am only basing this review on the one experience - but the service was a bit aloof at times and invasive at others. But polite. The offerings cover off on most tastes and diets and the food is well executed. Your folks will love this place.

10 stars for this wonderful cafe! The sunlit dining room has windows that open up onto the beautiful garden. The meals were very fresh and wonderfully prepared. We had the BBQ Sliders, Fish Tacos and Spicy Black Bean Tostada, all were amazing. And the wait staff was very nice.

rude staff! we were told to wait and hour and a half for a table, and when we asked for suggestions for another place to eat, she remarked "try somewhere more.....casual" emphasis on casual. if you do try going here dress "uncasual" and make reservation

Casual atmosphere with some nice plates. My wife and I had the soup of the day, the catch of the day (swordfish), and shared the Cheesecake (GF) and the Lemon Napoleon. The food was better than average and the service was good for such a busy night.

What a great meal! All three of us thoroughly enjoyed our very different meals (beef, pork and prawns). The only reason I dont give it 5 stars is due to the layout of the dining areas and the acoustics. Thoroughly recommend dinner!!

Nice place and service. We were there at 1:30 on Tuesday for lunch. I had a good Reuben sandwich that was not all messy like they usually are. Would of given a 5 but a tad expensive.
