This location can get packed - considering you have all the DTLA workers that will come for happy hour, plus if theres an event at LA Live - which there is always an event. Waiting times can range from 20 minutes to a couple of hours, which is totally not worth it. Even if you get a table, there are people standing around in the area and one knocked over my water one time. They should really limit the amount of people who can stand around the bar, OR put less tables. It just gets a little too cluttered at times. Happy hour is 3-6pm Monday - Friday. Not sure if theyre still doing late night happy hour 10pm to close Sunday - Thursday. HH is 1/2 priced on most appetizers, not the small bites. My favorites are the California Roll (which is a huge "roll" and not your traditional cut rolls), Spicy tuna roll (same as Cali Roll), Mooshu egg rolls, tuna tartare, and the crab/artichoke dip. Nummy! Martinis are $7, and Beer is at a cheaper price as well. They have a rotation on seasonal drafts - AWESOME. The deviled eggs appetizer was pretty yumski, to share or to start, its a "small bite". Usually get a sandwich or burger, its a good portion and usually pretty standard fare. A favorite of mine is the pastrami with extra jalapenos on the side. It needs more. Comes with a salad or fries, or upgra I would never recommend coming here to eat/drink before a game/concert/show unless its about 2-3 hours before the event. Tip - I would never order to-go here. They tell you 15 minutes. Its more like 20-30 minutes. PLUS they screwed up on my friends order. Luckily, they comped her plus gave her a free mini-dessert. But what about us?!?! we had to wait extra too. Whatevers. Parking is $5 for the first two hours. Not sure if its validation too. The times I go - I try to find free parking, or parking at a cheaper lot to stay there longer.

I came here a few months back with my cousin for lunch after church service on a Sunday. We parked at the East parking garage (I think) but because my church had provided parking validation I cannot comment on what the validation policy at Yardhouse is. The venue was pretty empty so we were immediately seated; we chose to sit on the patio since it was nice outside and had it almost to ourselves :) Service was pretty great. Since we were having a hard time choosing drinks, our server let us sample different beers. I do not recall which beer my cousin chose but I decided to go with Wyders Pear Cider. I found my new favourite cider here! Its delicious :) Much better than the Ace Pineapple Cider that I sampled... I did not like that one. For our entrees we ordered the following: (Cousin) PEPPER CRUSTED FILET (7.5 oz) with parmesan mashed potatoes, asparagus, carrots & brandy shallot cream sauce -- His steak looked good and he seemed to enjoy every last bite of it. I cannot recall any complaints about this dish... (Esther) HALF ROASTED TURKEY CLUB WITH CITRUS SOY SALAD AND FRIES -- They have a daily lunch special (from 11AM-5PM) where you can choose a half sandwich and a salad for $9.95. I did that, but also added fries for an additional $1.95 because I love french fries! My salad was a bit too green (those who know me know I hate veggies haha) but it was light and refreshing and a nice compliment to my sandwiches. The sandwiches are nothing special, but I still enjoyed them, along with my fries. I dont think anything here (at least that we had) was spectacular, but it was all solidly good food. And I walked away with a new favourite cider, so thats a win. I had a nice lunch here and I would definitely come back here for a meal if I am at LA Live.

Boy oh boy... Talk about a beautifully made martini. You guys know how I feel about my cocktails lol. My favs are the Pomegranate Press and the Strawberry Fields. Theres another grapefruity one that I love too. Lets just call this Yard House the Martini House. The energy in this place is always at an all time high, considering the fact that its right next to the Staples Center, and there is ALWAYS something going on at the Staples Center. I always order the same dish. Its the chicken penne pasta. So good. They used to have a GardeIn plate, but they removed it from their menu. Not sure why. If you come here alone I guarantee you, you will make a friend. Even more so if youre into sports. Great staff, great people, great atmosphere, great energy. Sidenote: When ordering, just make sure youre clear about what you order. Its normally really loud which makes it easy for your waiter/waitress/bartender to get your order wrong. Happened to me twice. They were very apologetic about it both times. Wasnt a biggie for me, but could be for someone who comes in hungry as a hippo. Just thought Id share that. Happy Dining!

Im always ready for Happy Hour so dont threaten me with a good time. Been here quite a few times with different groups of people. Even late night for more drinks and eats after another event upstairs. Im just hoping they validate for parking because LA Live isnt quite the place to be parking all day and night without paying a hefty price. Thank goodness they have Guinness on tap so I can order a black and tan or a snake byte. Small French onion soup offers a lot of cheese and onions packing a lot of flavor to it. Having the Ahi Crunchy seems really fresh but I could do without the chips. Hand me a fork and watch the ahi disappear. I do like the burgers and a few other dishes. Certainly helps when the game is on one of the TVs but that probably means there is going to be a wait for a table. What else can I say about this place when theres many locations for this chain restaurant. Just remember to read the signs if you are going to find a meter street parking spot. Really convenient before or after any event at LA Live.

I have been to two other YardHouse restaurants and did not have the food experience that I had here. We went after the Barnum and Bailey circus, so maybe the chefs were having an "off" day with so many diners frequenting the establishment. I had the deviled eggs as an appetizer and they were just okay. They did not have the punch of flavor from the Sriracha sauce that I have experienced at the Temecula establishment. It just tasted as if there was only tomato sauce on top. I have made it better myself at home. Onto my main course...the rice in my rice bowl was disgusting! It tasted as though it had been sitting around all day with sort of "mealy" taste. My son eats rice just about every day and even he refused to have more than a couple of bites. The vegetables were also very overcooked and didnt have the blanched crispness like I have had before. My husbands street tacos were also pretty nasty and the look of the food on his plate reminded us of vomit. Not very appetizing at all.

OK, the Yard House is a good place to meet with friends and/or family. But, its not the best food out there. I guess because they are always so packed with people that this place is invigorating. During one visit, some colleagues and I had just successfully defended our dissertations over at USC ( a great accomplishment - right?) So, we headed over to the Yard House at LA Live to celebrate. This was around 2pm on a Thursday. The place was practically empty - rare! To begin, we had a round of shots - naturally. Then, some specialty drinks and beers, as well as food. We were in a celebrating mood and feeling quite accomplished and proud for just becoming doctors. Yet, our celebration was muted when the manager came over to tell us to quiet down - downer. Again, its a great place, but its not cool to get shushed by an establishment especially when one chooses them as the place one wants to celebrate such a great accomplishment.
