FOOD: - octopus and pork belly tacos - yummmm! Perfect size and loaded with filling! - squash blossom and burrata pizza - BEST THING WE ATE. Sooooo good! The cheese was super milky and pizza was so fresh! - jumbo scallops - cooked perfectly , still tender and slightly jiggly/ You get two, on top of rice and this meaty ragu - salmon tartare - fresh and delicious! - lemonfish crudo - such a tiny portion! But so fresh and flavorful! - sablefish - cooked well, very tender, but salty - pork belly - yum! love that fatty part and that yolk mixed into the rice was great and PLAINTAINS! Loved! VENUE: OMG I am in LOVE with this venue!! Super spacious and high ceilings with a rustic, homey feel. They have little lights strung from the ceiling and its pretty well lit and so cute! Low picnic type tables as well as counter height tables. Theres also a big reserved area in the back. SERVICE: Awesome. The bartender was super knowledgeable and nice when we were deciding what wine to order and we placed food orders at the bar as well. Food came out hot and fast and they checked on us several times. Shout out to Justin, our super friendly and funny server! BEST THING I DISCOVERED: Bourbon shots with apple cider vinegar back!! Like pickleback shots!! Im not a fan of bourbon, but that salty/sour apple cider vinegar back made that shot super fun! They also have a shuffleboard table! PARKING: Its located a bit off the main stretch of DTLA so parking should be easy to find. I walked over from my friends place so i didnt have to worry about that. It was pretty lively! Not empty and not crowded, loved how there was SO MUCH SPACE that you still had your privacy for conversation or general debauchery.

Our group of 11 came here for a surprise birthday dinner! PARKING: Street (free after 8 PM but look at signs) or Parking Structure (access on 9th St) for $5 that closes at 12:30 AM. FOOD: We got a bunch of plates to share as it is tapas style and they recommend 2 per person. - Hamachi Crudo - Salmon Crudo - Wagyu Tartare - Bone Marrow x2 - Maple Pork Belly - Chorizo Bilbao Pizza - Wood fired Nachos - Melon Tartare with Burrata - Octopus and Pork Belly Tacos (large order is 4) - Prime Beef Fries + Ribeye x2 - State Fair Burger Out of all these my favorites were the Bone Marrow and Hamachi Crudo. The prime beef fries was also well-done in terms of meat quality. Our least favorite was the Wagyu Tartare as it was a bit dry. Runner ups include the Melon Tartare and Octopus/Pork Belly tacos. State Fair burger had too much BBQ sauce so all I tasted was bbq. ALCOHOL They have a substantial alcohol list including beers, wines, and cocktails. I had a large apple cider beer that was delicious! We also tried Baba Black Ale Beer, Apricot Cider, Watermelon Cocktail (dont get this), and some others. Overall a solid place, and will be back for more Bone Marrow!! #FallForLA

My friends threw me a surprise birthday party at the Stocking Frame and I had a fabulous time. I had never heard of this restaurant before but I cant wait to be back again. Parking was a pain for most people in our party since there is no valet and the restaurant is located in downtown LA. There is a pay lot across the street though if its not full. The dishes are small and can be a little pricey. They recommended 2-3 dishes per person but we ended up ordering almost everything on the menu and sharing. My favorite dish of the night was definitely the Hamachi on coconut rice. The sauce was nicely sour with lime and pickled Thai chili. I could eat like 10 orders of that by myself. They have a decent drinks list. They also have several types of bottled apple cider. I didnt try any of their cocktails but some of my friends and they looked yummy. The service was pretty good. It was a weekday and the whole place was almost completely empty. No reservations needed really, although as I understand, they accept reservations. I will be back soon for more of the hamachi dish!

Thank you Lola Gaspar! Officially Lola Gaspars (Downtown Santa Ana) bigger sister, The Stocking Frame is the real thing. Unique menu that is always changing, great interior architectural design, hip night vibe, large expansive space, and amazing ambiance this place really did out do Lola Gaspar in downtown Santa Ana. Most of the menu seems to be new age American with a hint of Italian cuisiine. If you really want to try this place, come in a group larger than 4 so that you can more of their unique dishes. The food comes out tapa style and you can enjoy the food "family style". The depth of taste of all their dishes is phenomenal. See below for what we got, EVERYTHING was amazing. Scotch Ale, Great Divide Colorado - Colorado Represent! Roasted Sea Scallops Coconut rice, spicy oxtail broth Octopus And Pork Belly Tacos Roasted Eggplant Tree Ripe Yellow Peaches urrata, la quercia speck Maple Pork Belly Smoked yolk, spiced cumin rice Brisket sausage and goat cheese pizza

The restaurants atmosphere is very rustic-like & has this cabin-vibe going on. For a meal of four.. this is what we ordered: *Smoked brisket pastrami tacos: four tacos for $21 (4 out of 5 stars ) *Charred broccoli : $9 (4 out of 5 stars) - a burst of flavor.. enjoyed it. plus, I love my veggies *Wood oven butcher nachos $12 (3.5 stars) *Aspen ridge skirt steak bermaze sauce $25. - presentation (culinary aesthetic.. Can work on) *Burrato and melon $12 - (2 out of 5 stars) the size of the prosciutto pieces were ridiculous.. the size was comparable to XS bandaids.. totally need to give more.. felt like I got gypped. *Spice rubbed duck breast for tacos $20 - the dish comes wiht all the ingredients for us to create the taco ourselves.. this was OK (4 stars) *Espresso poured over salted caramel gelato hazelnut crunch 7- (5/5stars really good) *Port wipeout IPA in a Steiner cup! $8

Loved the atmosphere and decor in this place - if I lived in a warehouse, this is what my patio would look like, rustic and romantically lit. Most of the food looked amazing and my friends ordered a lot of it, however, I was limited by my pescetarianism. The scallops were delicious - seared nicely - but the rice they were plated over was just okay. The bucatini was okay, a little bland for my liking - could have used a touch more spice or something to give it depth. My favorite dish was the baby broccoli, that sweet black vinegar sauce was real good. Had a taste of the nachos and loved them because I love nachos with beer cheese and guac. Our waitress was attentive enough, but the busboy(?)/waiter-in-training(?)/waterboy(?) was rude. Maybe he was having a bad day, whatevs. Maybe Ill just have drinks next time when I want to feel LA trendy.

Service was great! Nice place for a date night! Portions were made to be shared, so they totally had us in mind. Drinks: old fashioned. Great! Perfect blend. Food: Octopus & pork belly tacos. I think this is my favorite out of all of them. They had some type of spicy mayo on top, which made it that much better. Maple braised pork belly: nice and soft with egg on the side. Pretty good. Sea scallops: good but they only gave 2 scallops. Totally not enough to enjoy it. Goat cheese polenta: not bad at all. You do not really taste the cheese that much, just a small hint of it. Really good as well. Overall, I had a great impression of this place. You cannot tell that its romantic from the outside. But step inside and its a totally different vibe. There is street parking if youre lucky. Otherwise, you can park across the street for 5 bucks
