I loved this place... That is until I noticed an employee empty dirty plates with her bare hands for the guy washing the dishes, then went over to the boiled eggs container to sort them with a cut on her hand. - needless to say afterwards she was given a bandaid. Thats not the only issue I noticed sitting at the bar, regarding handling food, as no one wore gloves and was at times touching food with their bare hands. I emailed one of the reps - Natan Zion regarding what I saw... His responses: "Thats the cleanest youve seen us, trust me." "Who do you work with? Just curious you seem to know a lot on restaurants?" Needless to say, reaching out to Natan regarding behaviors that could make someone really sick, was a wasted effort. If you choose to eat here, pay attention to whos handling your food and how.

I just have to say that this is THE place to go for the best Ramen - for vegans and non-vegans alike! Dont let the fact that its vegan turn you away, the ramen here is absolutely incredible and youll never for a second even notice that its vegan. I love it more than any other ramen I had, including pork and chicken ramens. Its a small, crowded, and extremely popular little spot in the Grand Central Market in downtown LA. The seating is always full of people but you dont have to wait to long to grab a spot, people are always coming and going rather quickly. Efficient and friendly service, and they bring out the ramen so fast! The broth is delicious, very creamy and rich! I also love the vegan egg you can get for extra. This place is amazing, Im definitely going to be a regular here for now on!

What an interesting take on the Japanese staple! Who would have thought that vegan ramen could work so deceivingly well. The mock meat slices and hard boiled egg had the look and texture quite similar to the originals that were both intriguing and tasty!!! The one down side to the overall experience happen during the ordering where the cashier didnt bother to mention the lunch special (ramen + appetizer + beverage for $15); this notice for the lunch special was tucked away to the side. I ended up paying $18 a la carte for the ramen and appetizer, and only through spotting and pointing out the special afterwards did the cashier concede to giving me a beverage.

Ramen Hood had a lot of hype around it and I was excited to try it, although the noodles are good, its quite expensive for just a bowl of ramen (I believe it was 10 or 11 dollars). Really theres nothing that expensive about noodles and broth. The soy egg was extra. Also the sides are so tiny and not worth the amount you pay for them, so skip out on those they arent worth your time. Overall, the ramen was good, but there wasnt much difference between the spicy and original for me, and also there wasnt a lot of flavor in the noodles either. Its definitely not the best, but if your craving some vegan noodles its a nice spot to head to

Im sorry, this place is just not that good. This is more like a 2.5, but since thats not an option when rating restaurants, I guess well round up. The combination of super long wait time, pricey food, and mediocre ramen makes for a disappointing experience. I did like the karaage chicken, which came with some type of matcha green tea dipping salt, which was unique. But when the start attraction, the ramen, is sub-par, then I wont be coming back. Its really too bad this place isnt better. Los Angeles needs more tasty ramen joints. Unfortunately, this place doesnt cut it.

Enjoyable, but definitely not the best vegan ramen Ive ever had. The noodles were strangely soft. He broth has a delightful creaminess, but lacked a certain savory complexity. My favorite was the garlic ramen, which included big pieces of delicious garlic, but I wish it had been more different from the spicy ramen I also tried. The staff was awesome, as was the broccoli small plate. Definitely get the broccoli small plate. I also enjoyed the tofu small plate, which was tasty and unusual. Squeezing lime on it as a nice touch.

As an expert in ramen my husband is really picky and... He absolutely loved this one! The noodles and veggies are great, i agree, but i disliked the broth, idk why but it had a taste i really didnt like (finished my plate tho!). The egg is of no use either, its funny to see it can be done, but has no taste to add to the plate... I love to see such a (crowded) place in central market DTLA, it gives good hope for the future of vegan food and life! Pros: food, good portions Cons: noisy (but you can still take away)

Its the most average ramen in LA, which isnt a bad thing. 1. The broth, the noodles and the toppings are good, not great, just good. 2. Its complete vegan which is great. 3. Lots of choices and flavors. 4. Its not fast service, its not even average, its just really slow. 5. If you get your food to go, be prepared to deal with guilt of a half dozen plastic containers. Recycle, recycle, recycle. 6. Like all things in DTLA, the parking situation sucks.

Love it so so much!! I have no idea how they make their broth so deeply flavored (since they are vegan) its just amazing! The ramen comes out so pretty, with the (vegan) egg, and all sorts of things!! They have many variations of the traditional ramen, which is cool. I recommend it a lot. If your in for a quick bite, ramen hood is for you. You wont forget the experience.

This place blows my mind and my taste buds! I have no idea how they make their broth so rich and delicious, yet being completely vegan. This is one of those places that defy everything you think you know about vegetarian/vegan food. I actually prefer this over most of the pork broth ramen Ive had! Will stop by again next time Im in LA!

The food is really delicious and you forget the fact that it is completely vegan. The broth is flavorful and the toppings compliment the broth. The only issue is that being inside the Grand Central Market on a Sunday afternoon, finding a place to sit is a challenge.

It wasnt that good. Im a vegetarian, plus and I still didnt "love" it. After a while my stomach wasnt feeling good and I had a hard time walking. But the service was nice. The cashier lady smiled at me much, and offered care and attention to how my ramen tasted

Best Vegan restaurant Ive even eaten at (no joke). And one of the greatest Ramen places Ive been to and Ive been to some of Americas best. And the Sides. All extraordinary. Only wish they had better drink options. Coke, Squirt and some cute Japanese sodas.

Love this place! The ramen is some of the best Ive ever had and customer service was fantastic. The food came quickly, and the poutine was my favorite side, those fries are bomb! Dont care much for grand central market but Ramen Hood is completely worth it!

Still cant believe one of the best ramen Ive had was a vegan one. Honestly I love slow cooking and I was fascinated with how condensed bone broth like and umami rich this was. Commence-bringing-everyone-i-know-here mode

Ate Ramen yesterday during Womans March, it was an amazing experience. Chatted briefly with the chef, so glad we selected Ramen Hood. Will definitely be back soon. Thank you for the delicious meal.
