Truly authentic. Japanese sushi makers are out front, creating masterpieces to be devoured. Make a reservation if youre a party of 4 or more. Otherwise, go inside and put your name on the list. May take up to an hour to get seated. Crowded and limited space inside but cozy and breathable. Pitchers of Asahi draft beer are served here. You can get live shrimp and octopus. They have the most amazing ramen but it is only served after 10PM at this location. They have a second location on Jefferson blvd (10 minutes from this place) that serves ramen all day. Something is special with the ramen here. You can take orders Togo but you cannot take this ramen Togo. They serve sushi pizza, give it a try its delicious. For dessert my favorite is the mochi ice cream and lava cake that is served with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream. If you really want to be authentic with them, buy all the chefs a round of beers and Kanpai! or cheers! with them when they are serve their beers.

A sad and overpriced meal. food was 2/5, miso ramen needed some flavor a bit skimpy on the broth and only 2 slices of pork belly. the rice bowl was better and good portion. the roll was not $8 worth. service was by far the biggest disappointment. we were treated as second class customers, maybe because we wanted to share plates, nevertheless, they were quick and eager to get paid and clean the table but the waiter and money collector were not friendly at all. we thought we try a new place but there is absolutely no chance Im ever coming back to this place. Also, it seems like the workers are competing with customers for bathroom time. maybe having an extra staff restroom would help.

The original Kanpai was our favorite sushi in LA and weve always wanted to come to the new location. Also a win! Their fish selection is unbelievable and so fresh! *this next one only get if you are slightly adventurous: ama ebi (sweet shrimp). We get one every time. Shrimp so fresh they bring you the tail and, well youll see the rest. You must have a stomach for it. And the second part, choose tempura fried. $10 per one piece of shrimp, but you get the entire body too and hes alive till you eat the tail.

this has to be the best sushi in all of Los Angeles! Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is casual but the food will blow your mind! The menu is updated daily to coincide with the availability and freshness of the fish. If your not sure what to order, just ask, and you will be showered in a rain of delicious suggestions. My only regret in coming here tonight was not wearing my yoga pants so that I could have eaten more :)

3 1/2. Sushi combo was good. Offer some happy hour specials on drinks and sushi. Drink specials were great but sushi specials didnt peak interest. Fish was fresh enough - Just a slightly below great. Prices were fair but I felt that either they needed to lower price slightly or improve quality slightly. They seemed somewhere in between. Atmosphere was clean and modern. No problem here. All in all slightly below great.

I personally dont write a lot of reviews but with this restaurant I had too. I dont recommend this place, the food is not that great and its way over priced. The salmon teriyaki was not cooked to my liking, the sauce was salty. The broccoli was under cooked and the atmosphere of the restaurant was noisy and not pleasent to be there. Disappointing is putting it mildly, I would not eat here again nor recommend this place.

I spent my Christmas in LA this year and found this was one of the only non chain restaurants open so I went in for dinner. Great find! The waiters were so friendly as were the sushi chefs. The food was delicious and we didnt have to wait too long for it. It was a clean atmosphere and the authentic food was perfect. The pricing was very reasonable and the location was right off the road. Great place for lunch or dinner!

Not your sushi around the corner (unusual selections change weekly, e.g., needlefish, baby silver eel). Kinmedai, Engawa, impressive varieties of mackerel are standard & delish but the Phoenix Moon (creamy toro & uni) + the premium black sea perch are 2DIE4!!! Go during HH (b4 4:30) esp. on Sundays so you have their best attention; one Friday night it was SO crowded some pieces got smaller.

Annnnd were back! Lol We were here only a few days ago but had to come back for their delicious lunch special! It comes with a 5 pc sushi with a choice of rolls of sashimi. Their slices of sashimi are huge! I love that! Everything was so fresh. This is our new fave lunch special sushi spot when we are in this side of town. And their prices are great! Yum yum yummmy!

Food was prepared quickly I am from the OC side of LA. This place was listed as low priced on the far west side. A rainy Sunday night, and open until 11pm, so I gave it a try. I asked about the lobster roll, 35 dollars! Westside! 2 rolls, 1 beer, they forgot to serve the misso soup, still remembered to charge me. 38 total.

Heaven on earth. Every single thing on their menu is incredible... but get their omakase and be ready to have your mind blown. Not even joking. It might a bit pricey, so save it for something special, but IT. IS. WORTH IT. Im not kidding when I say its like a spiritual experience, so this is a foodies heaven!!!!

Always packed with office workers from the area. Not cheap, but worth the price in terms of quality. Ramen was a stand out, as is their sashimi. Sashimi special for the price is decent and itll fit you up (with assist from rice). Groups of 4 or more might have to wait a while during lunch peak time though.

The atmosphere service and portions are all top rate. The food however was presented beautiful and in LARGE portions but lacked flavor. I had a fois gras hand roll and pork ramen. The hand roll was a HIT. The ramen a big miss. Pork ramen is all about the broth. The broth was near flavorless.

We needed a place to eat that was close to the airport and this place popped up. Im glad I tried it. I got the chashu ramen and it was really good and a nice generous serving with plenty of pork. We also got california roll and eel roll and spare ribs which were all very good.

The service was super, the food was perfect, the atmosphere was a little too busy for me. It was loud, but it is also a sushi bar. I had to keep reminding myself that it was more of a bar than a quiet restaurant. I didnt like the TVs blaring and loud conversations around me.

Belle ambiance. On peut sasseoir au sushi bar ou à une table. La nourriture est délicieuse et à un goût typique japonais.

The food was delicious. I highly recommend the spicy ramen and their house sale in a carafe. The service was very quick, respectful and efficient. We had a bit of mix up with them understanding my food allergies but aside from that, it was a great experience.

Not cheap but absolutely terrific. My Uni was perfect, as was the Toro. The sautéed rock shrimp and Brussels sprouts really tasty too. Udon excellent. Staff crazy busy but very attentive, friendly and great attitude. Loved it.
