Waitress was cool. Knowledgeable of beers. Place is awful, bathroom awful, cook awful. Atmosphere awful. Clean but tore up. Parking awful, Service of food awful. Taco special meh. ....... We wanted fries well done. Not burned. We told the cook. (I worked for a restaurant before) these are dark and burned. Instead of making fresh he calls the waitress and said "they dont like there fries" (as he pointed to us) they said well done. I dont understand whats wrong? (Still pointing). sorry this was about 3 to 4 months ago. She herself tasted our fries and said to the cook ( I think their good but go ahead and cook more for them ) Are you kidding? These are my fries not yours. You can taste the oil is Old. Dark and needed to be changed. The 2nd round the same. Even not well done and dark still. Fries are a Golden Brown. Like a tanish or Goldish color. . Not BROWN and taste okd....Anywho, my hubby and I are Not Complainers but dont mess with our fries. We are not picky but damn. This went Too Far. If you mess up. Fix it. I felt accused of our purchase. The cook had a personality Like a Zombie. We took the 2nd fries unwillingly. I was so upset eating there. It was my discussion to eat there for the happy hour beer and tacos. I convinced my hubby.... Lets go there. I felt bad. I choose this awful place. We will never go again. EVER! I gave 1 star was for the waitress only. She was nice, knowledgeable, and tried to make us happy. I think she tried the fries for the cooks sake for Mr. ZOMBIE. If she said other hed go psycho. I never saw a manager. My husband and I still talk about that day. I felt like the apocalypse came. Thats whats left. . That place. ...I wish I remembered the waitress name. She is what holds that place Together. I would buy a $6 taco with great food, great service, great place, great restrooms, OK parking, great cook, then this place. Its a C-. I wish I knew her name but that waitresses is all this place has. .:(

I worked at Douglas Aircraft Company (DAC) before it closed. This bar place played a small part of history in DAC as it was located nearby. One of the bar tenders was, in my opinion, one of the ugliest and rudest ladies in the area. If a Brit asked for a "pint," she would take a large glass (schooner?), turn it up side down. put beer in the bottom and say, "heres your G*& D^%$ pint!" as she slammed it on the counter. DAC, BAe and Rolls Royce were associated companies. This bar had a reputation with the Brits. Visiting engineers like to go there & be insulted. Visits were discussed the next day, in detail. I agree the food was not the best & the toilets not so clean. Rumor has it that Donald Douglas visited on Fridays. The bar was frequented by production line folks and he gained lots of respect by taking questions, suggestions and hearing complaints.

Classic dive bar. Cash only. No hard alcohol (as of 5/2016) but the beer is typically kept nice and cold. They keep their lines clean, so the beer doesnt get gross, like some. Friendly staff and the bouncers are nice (until you step out of line). Pool tables are used but still playable and they have a shuffle board too. There bar food is a must, if you like cheap, greasy, goodness. Sports available and a jukebox too. Word to the wise, it borders LB/LAKEWOOD, so have a tough ear because the music choices can get rough. Place is an institution.

Thirsty Isle is the hole in the wall to end all hole in the walls. Its not fancy, its not pretty, the bathrooms are questionable.. but its a pub what teh hell do you expect? Friendly atmosphere - yes! Frosty cold beer - yes Delicious bar food including the best hot wings in town - yes. Great spot to go watch the game, have a cold one & get some good eats. Best wings around. Friendly cook & bartenders. Pool tables. Old weathered wooden benches, internet jukebox that has just about anything you wanna hear. You can always meet interesting people TIs !

Went their two nights ago, drop in here now and again for a cold beer and burger. Never had a problem there people were always nice. Things have changed, the place allows idiot mexican gang banggers in there, one guy even thought he was a police officer in there because he had a twic card. Dont believe me check out utube in february fight in the thirsty isle, bunch of jackasses, instead of taking out side man to man they need to grab weapons ( pool stick). Management in this place does not exist. Will never go there again its that bad.

I hadnt been to the Isle in decades but thought Id just google it to see if it was still in business. I recall it had big chilled 30 oz. mugs of ice cold beer on tap. Some of the best bar food Ive ever eaten came from thsir grill, and they had a jukebox with great tunes. Pool tables were always busy, and a game was just a quarter challenge away. Friendly crowd, great bartenders and staff. I loved going there when I lived in SoCa and am okeased to see it still has its rustic ambience and convivial atmosphere!

Amazingly chill! A fair selection of ale, lager, stouts, and IPAs. Its a great feeling walking there after work to grab of schooner of guiness or whatever. Pool tables, shuffle board, a good selection of music, and awesome bartenders. The bar is rarely full except maybe on the weekends. All good but the restrooms... they can be er like shady or whatever, they only serve beer and only accept cash. All in all a good place to go to after work or school.

This place is the best..Nothing like walkin after a long day at work and enjoying a nice large schooner. I love the atmosphere and the bartenders. Gatta love walkin in and the bartender already knows what you want. The food is great, theres always great music playing. Prices are great too. Its pretty friendly too its not like most bars where you walk in and its all stuck up people you always end meeting someone new.

Ive been going here for years. You cant beat the price of the schooners and the beer is ice cold. The chicken nachos with no chili are the best in town. The burgers are hand made and the fries are freshly cut. They have a variety of food with good portions and good prices. Try it and you will want to go back again and again.

Dive bar! Thats what this place is. Its dark, with wood tables, 2 pool tables, and very very cold beer in 32 oz mugs. If ur looking for a trendy place, go so where else. I would have given it 5 stars for a dive bar, but the bathrooms are nasty, so minus a star.

Great cozy place to hit after work, or even for breakfast. Nobody seems to notice you at all until you want to be noticed. What an awesome quality for a bar! Lonely breakfast beers, WITHOUT judgement? Thats a place that really got its patrons on lock.
