Just got off the phone from trying to place a catering order. The employee sounded annoyed in the first place that I was calling in an order (online ordering is not available). When I gave the address: they said "what is that?" I explained that it was a hospital. They said "We dont deliver to hopsitals because our drivers just get lost." Long silence. Me-"Well, can I give you my cell phone and your drive can contact me to schedule an exact place at the hospital for pick-up?" Employee "I guess. *huff*" Me "Ok, I would like to schedule it for 1/18." Employee "Before we move on I need to know the cross-streets" Me "Oh Im sorry I dont know the cross streets Im not in front of a map or a computer and Im not from the area, do you think since the order is in advance you could look that up or have the driver look it up?" Employee "Maam thats information we have to know to place the order." Me" You know, you dont seem to want my order and I seem to be inconveniencing you, I will take my order elsewhere." Employee "Um, Thanks." -end of call- I worked in the LA food industry for years and always try to support the little guy as I myself worked for a small, family owned, company. But this isnt the time or the economy for me to have to beg for good service. Ill take my $500 box lunch order elsewhere. Clearly this place doesnt "need" it.

Ordered 2 skillets... (TERRIBLE SERVICE) At 15 min mark I went to the counter and asked if that could possibly be order #65 (two had been sitting there with a cover over them). I was told that they were a different order. Later, I asked several servers about order #65; really didnt get a reply and one told me "the skillets take longer and can only be done one at a time". Servers kept bringing food for other tables around us (you think they could have figured something out after 20 minutes). Around 30 min mark, they actually tried to bring the skillets that had been sitting on the counter! I asked the manager for a refund. Maybe an apology (none) could have helped this terrible experience.

Good quality food (sandwiches, bread and bagels ONLY, the rest is typical sugary fake crap) thats overpriced. Grounds just jacked their prices up again which is prompting me to write this review. Their service is OK but never really good - no proactive customer service. But their prices keep on going up while the size of their sandwiches decreases in turn. We place corporate lunch orders with them but I have been actively trying to find a different supplier. Grounds does so well as it has little competition in the area. Time for a competitive good sandwich place to open close by. Grounds obviously dont read their online reviews either. Disappointing.

This place is just all-around great. The only bad thing I can think of is that they dont stay open later. They have a fabulous and highly customizable menu but it is not overwhelming to just walk in and make a simple order. They have a surprisingly functional website and are always friendly; real people delivering real smiles and real good food. Explore the menu thoroughly, its easy to miss hidden wonders. This place is as Los Altos Community As It Gets. A #1 from Rosie is my classic weekday escape.

Ordered delivery through Post-mates at 1:30 on a Monday, arrived at 2:30 in Orinoco Hill. This time I tried the CA Giants sandwich just to go with the theme of HOLY CRAP THE GIANTS WON FOR THE 3RD TIME IN 5 YEARS. Sandwich was still lukewarm and oh so so delicious. Thank you again, Ikes, for remaining a staple in my Long Beach diet and thank you delivery man for bringing it to me in all of its saucy glory.

they ran out of egg whites its 900am for christs sake poor management clearly and lack of entrepreneurship spirit or bending over backwards that will essentially convince me that the chef will take the yolk out of course this mentality is kept among the greatest people but who wants to argue with a sleepy female latina cashier to make that request and she represents this no-can-do attitude no thanks!!

Bread is awesome. The yellowtail tuna is to die for. Their homemade soups and desserts are so yummy. This family owned business is always hopping, which is probably why the staff seem rushed. They are friendly nonetheless. If I want great food, this is where I go (unless I want a salad...salads could be better made).

This is a popular place to hang out, but most of their coffee is flavored. The plain coffee that I bought is probably prepared on the same equipment as the flavored coffee, because it also had that bitter aftertaste that flavored coffee has. I had to pour it out.

The food is always fresh and tasty! You also get a good size serving of food. My kids love the breakfast sandwiches. In my opinion, the bagels are not your typical dense bagel, they are light, airy and delicious.

Nice place hours are somewhat odd so always check to make sure they are open. Lots of breads and sandwiches and some desserts. Nice staff and good service. The crowd is young and old

Ive been coming here for many years. They have a great variety of coffee flavors. The pastries are always fresh so are the sandwiches. They are busiest in the mornings.

Amazing that abysmal service and utter indifference can be a part of a successful business model. I go in about once a year and am reminded why I only go once a year.

The best places to get breakfasts, lunch and fresh baked baked goods! You must try THE MEAT SKILLET! To give it a kick. Request pepper flakes on the side.

Great moist bagels. Thoughtful service. Didnt give it 5 stars as wi-fi weak, too long to order simple bagels and the owner chooses to show only CNN on TV.

Pretty solid bagel/breakfast sandwiches. Not quite up to north east standards, but for California, it is a win. Definitely worth a stop in.
