I ordered the "Goldenwest Omelet" and a side of "Home Fries". I was sadly disappointed that there was nothing "golden" about the omelet and nothing like "home" in the home fries. I guess given that I grew up in the deep south and have traveled extensively (all around the world literally), I know the difference between good and bad food. I am ever looking for good food here in Socal and I guess it is as rare as the great white buffalo. My wife is a second generation Mexican American and her experience with the Huveos Rancheros was equally as bad this close to the border. This place has good reviews because people here in socal dont know the difference between good and bad food, travel up the road a bit (to Norcal even) and youll be pleasantly surprised at the difference passion and quality over quantity makes. Southern Californians deserve better food than the staples of doughnuts and burgers, especially in such a othwrwise fabulous place to live.

Sunrise Café is a Great Diner! I had the Popeye Omelette, but as a scramble. Yum. Spinach, onions, finely shredded jack cheese (which means it melts well) and good-sized pieces of fresh mushrooms and thick-cut bacon. It came with options for a side & bread. I took the really tasty grits and biscuit with gravy. I had half of the biscuit in the delicious sausage, not-too-thin, not-too-thick gravy. I asked for the gravy on the side so I could taste their handmade strawberry jam on the other half of the biscuit. And it was worth it! Lastly, I had coffee, which was good! The Café is clean and quite reasonably priced... and the staff & management are friendly and really helpful. I was having a hard time choosing my breakfast, but got good advice from them and ended up really liking my meal.

New owners (about a year or so ago). Walking distance from Aerospace plant across the street, and Long Beach City College. I had the breakfast special. Food was great, and the "home style" potatoes were some of the best I ever had! Real Old Style Oatmeal (Rolled Oats) - not the cheap 1 minute Oatmeal. A few days later I went back for lunch, and tried the Mushroom and Grilled Onions Burger. Wow! Burger was huge, delicious, juicy, and homemade. The owner/waitress said they do not use frozen burger patties. I substituted fried zucchini for fries (free option), and they were also home made and awesome! Perfect breading. Great prices, and great service. I cant wait to try the sandwiches next.

Ive come here a few times before and it was okay food the prices are definitely OVER priced. This last time though... It was disgusting! I did a phone order as usual... When I picked it up the bacon was SO burnt I couldnt even eat it! I ordered white toast and she tells me they are out of toast so I had to get a English muffin which was fine I guess but when i opened my fresh fruit I ordered IT HAD HAIR in it!!!!!! I called and told the lady and she tells me "oh well i checked your food before i gave it to you and it was fine" REALLY LADY? This place is dirty. For your own health I would advise you to go somewhere else!

Ive often driven past this place on my way to Long Beach. I cant believe Ive missed this little gem of diner for so long. The food was great, hearty home style portions. The service was top notch, including the manager/owner of the restaurant, who not only took our order, but was hands on all over the place. Then there are the trains. Yes, two model trains leisurely chugging overhead as part of the decor. It was fun to watch. Sunrise Cafe has become one of my new favorite places for good food in a relaxed, family atmosphere.

Ordered the granola pancakes with eggs/bacon + gravy and biscuits + coffee Service was 4/5 Pancakes 4/5 Eggs/Bacon - 2.5/5 (Eggs were decent but bacon was close to burnt) Gravy and Biscuits 2.5/5 (Biscuits were dry + Gravy was chunky, cold and tasted like out of a can) Coffee - 3.5/5 We went during a less than moderately busy time (between 11:45-12:20), seating was around 35% capacity. 2 Waitresses + 1 Manager serving tables. Id probably give it another try at some point in time.

If you never seen Gordon Ramsey Kitchen Night mare , you in for a treat. This place is a joke . Food is taste less and fried zucchini horrible. Really! Who can mess up on fried zucchini. On top of the bad food. The owner need to take a course in customer service. She promise you one thing and send the waitress to tell you another thing. Poor service. Bad food .. eat at your own risk. Never trust yelp again.

Kent and his crew are always amazing, my family and I go to this gracious Breakfast spot atleast twice a week. No matter how busy this place is kent and his wife Jacqueline will come and greet you and have a good conversation to start the day. I refer many of my friends and co workers (I work in santa ana) to come and not one of them has been disappointed except that its not open later! Always satisfied.

Just barely okay. Used to be better, not sure why. Ordered eggwhitescrambler...eggs were hot and a lot, nothin special. Rice was cold and clumpy. Asked for fresh rice, didnt get it, bit got a biscuit instead which was best part of meal. Place is super crowded and noisy. Service not great because of the crowd. Way overpriced considering food is just average. Could have made better breakfast at home!

I came specifically because I was craving waffles and they were delicious! It came with eggs and bacon and it was very affordable. There was great service and the woman who took our order was very knowledgeable about the menu. Important note: the parking lot is very small so it might be better to park in the parking spaces across the street.

Good food but the worst service. Today was second time i walked out due to poor service. I called and spoke with the Manager. What a joke. He said they were short staffed. But 2 parties came in after me and got served. Never again.

Breakfast was good country food and plenty of it. Service was friendly and the owner was very personable talking about the model train that was running. I recommend stopping by if you are really hungry.
