We couldnt have found a more perfect spot for breakfast (they serve lunch and dinner too). Our hostess was friendly, our server was one of the best weve ever had, and the food was incredible! Even the coffee was great. I didnt need to add any cream. My husband had the waffle, eggs, and bacon and I had a skillet breakfast. The waffles were done just right- not too heavy. My breakfast was huge (and oh so yummy), so I had it for dinner later. Our experience was so pleasant that were looking forward to making this a regular spot for brunch (they serve mimosas and bloody marys- but not with real booze) and eventually trying out their dinner.

I shared a similar experience as Bob Blount... Our drinks were never refilled and our food sat there while we waited for the dressing for our dry burgers. We asked numerous times for ranch dressing and found out that she gave it to another table. We waited another 15 minutes until she finally got it right (though she forgot the bread for my soup) Unfortunately, by that time our food was cold. I think the waitress name was Lisa (the fat one) and I would pay extra just to avoid having her as my waitress. -Seal Beach resident

Absolutely disgusting!!! Literally found a pubic hair in my food and the reaponse the waitress had was "oh would you like a new order"!! And believe me not one cook there had dark curly hair because I got up to look!!! Im still disgusted and mortified ever since!!! Especially because the stupid dumb waitress refused to acknowlege what had happened . So make sure you watch every bite that goes into your mouth......

Ive been here a number of times with friends and co-workers. The service is always excellent, the food is outstanding, and the atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. The patio is especially nice for enjoying the SoCal weather and scenery. The serve delicious breakfast all day. Their sandwiches and salads are large and tasty. Ive never had anything there that wasnt top notch.

Had the Greek salad with chicken for lunch. Big serving. Ask for dressing on the side if you dont like a lot. Best Greek Ive ever had! Went back for a second time specifically to get the same salad. Even better 2nd time around. Service was satisfactory. Outdoor seating plentiful and fantastic on nice days. Highly recommended for lunch.

Heavenly....absolutely heavenly! Ever had good chocolate chip pancakes? Ever had great chocolate chip pancakes? Ever had amazing chocolate chip pancakes? Well, Blackboard Bistros are better. Breakfast items are outstanding, I love me a good breakfast skillet, and lunch is fantastic, never had a sandwich there I didnt love.

Would have given four stars, but our waitress, Liana , ignored us for a good 15 minutes before taking our drinks and then ignoring us again. When the table next to us, who sat down after us, got their food before we ordered we flagged her down. A now annoyed Liana gave us nothing but attitude until we left.

My wife and I both very much enjoy Blackboard, my favorite items are the chili cheese omelette amd the santa fe scramble. Mario was our server today and he was and is always nice, quick and friendly. I suggest people should sit outside, it a great atmosphere for an enjoyable morning breakfast or lunch.

Placed pick up order for breakfast. Food was ready in 10 min, arrived to pay and server asked if I wanted change back, as in a tip was expected for a pick up order? I gave here the 66 cents and kept the rest. Food is great, large breakfast portions. Well go back again and sit down so she can earn a tip.

Serves breakfast all day. They make a very good breakfast. Staff is friendly. They have counter service. The building used to be elementary school so its gone from torturing children to serving good food-an improvement all around.

Amazing coffee!!! I did the Playgroud Special and blueberry French toast, eggs, side of hash browns and substituted the bacon for Turkey hash!! Yummy!!! Very excellent place when you are in Seal Beach!
