Wow is this a popular, fun place; I think you will like! I ordered their Hamburger, French Fries and a Chocolate Malt. The malt was 32 oz and very, very tasty, served in a frosted metal glass with lots of whipped cream and a cherry on top... (This is like the malts that used to be served in the 50s).. The HH Cafe Hamburger is large; the meat is cooked the way you prefer. I am not crazy about their bun (I would change that); all in all the hamburger was okay. The fries are very fresh, tasty and they serve a generous portion. The Harbor House (HH) atmosphere is cozy; its a cool diner style from 50 to 60 years gone by; they have lasted here for 78 years for a reason. HH posts lots and lots of cool memorabilia for you to enjoy a walk down memories of years gone by. The HH staff tell me that it gets very busy after 5 pm and stays busy until 3 am (open 24/7). HH location is on Pacific Coast Hwy; it is easy to spot because of large signage with Superman on it. My mom used to tell me, " have fun while you are young!" You will have fun with family and friends at the Harbor House Cafe in Sunset Beach. $$ to $$$ Sunset Beach itself is a nice place! Not quite as popular as Huntington, Newport or Long Beach but a very cool and friendly place to spend some time! by: cmilton111 Google Guide 7.14.2017 40 million Google Map views in last 12 months..

Have been going here for years but was really disappointed when I found hair in my Heart attack fries, and Shake. And i still had to pay which is absolutely absurd. You guys should not make someone who has been going to your dinner for such a substantial amount of time pay for that food. Just tell the chef to wear a hair net please. Update: I went here tonight and god I was so disappointed the food was absolute garbage, I ordered the crab sandwich and god it was very greasy, soggy bun, bland crab, and this disgusting sauce. Very disappointed.

After reading the reviews, me and my sister were excited to try something new. The portions were big, food a bit overpriced. Our waitress wasnt that attentive at all. My sister received her food first and I can see my plate sitting on the counter but my waitress were no where to be found. I had to ask another waitress if she can give me my food. We did love the atmosphere. Their cheesecake was pretty good but the chocolate cake taste a little old. Not the best experience but it could have been worse.

Wow I felt so uncomfortable due to the teenage waiters here. I was trying to enjoy a nice meal with my fiancé when out of the blue we over hear the waiters sitting at the bar behind mention the "N" word multiple times, references to Hitler, and not to mention the number of times they referred to each other as "retarded." My soon to be step son has autism and I take extreme offence to people throwing that word around. I highly doubt I will ever return to this place

Food is average dennys food. It was 10 minutes before we finally asked to see our server and 5 minutes later I see our food server make a disgusting face and argue with another server before taking our table. Then they bring one persons meal out with the soups and salads, they forget a meal of another guest. No apology, no explanation of what happened, just dropped down on the table well after the other meals were finished. Overall bad experience.

I have been coming here for over 20 years....but the last year or two service has really slipped. My last attempt here had me sitting at the counter and after 15 minutes of sitting there ready to order with unorganized servers running to and fro.....I had not so much as been said hello to, let alone had my order taken. I then walked out...its a shame this place is so poorly managed as its an area icon and I do miss its former quality.

At first my french toast was dry. They offered to make a new one. The cook seen distraught. When it came, it was soggy and tasted like they soaked it in tap water. I after eating half of this disgusting soupy mess, I asked them to microwave it so that the uncooked egg would cook and harden. When it came back ,it was warm but still just as soggy so I paid and left the rest of the meal. They didnt even bother to ask how the food was.

If its late and youve got the midnight munchies, I cant pick a better place. Harbor House cafe is by far, hands down, the best 24 hr diner Ive been to. The food is great, the service is awesome (even at 1am on a packed saturday night) and the place is HUGE. The only complaint I have is that there isnt any room to wait for a table so it can get pretty crowded around the door. Other than that, no complaints here!

Omelets and home fries were very good with large portions. The mexican omelet was filled with lots of sirloin steak and green peppers covered with good sauce. This place will be on my go to breakfast list. Only negative was it was hard to get a refill on the coffee. About a third of my time there my cup was empty. The servers seemed to spend more time with patio customers than the inside customers.

Tranquille tôt en semaine et surpeuplé au brunch de fin de semaine. Ici, la machine est bien huilé, la bouffe est solide et laura dinner se fait bien sentir. Jaime beaucoup cet endroit.

Been going here on mothers day for at least 15 years.... This will be the last time, food had changed dramatically, they brought out our toast five minutes before we were leaving, got so much of the order wrong, never did get the side of scrambled eggs we ordered. Under new ownership, prices are up, service is down...... Bye bye harbor house, I knew the goodness wouldnt last!!

Ive been coming here since 1975-76 so technically its my 40th anniversary. That should tell you something. I used to do late night back in the Red Onion days, but now I am just apart of the breakfast crowd. The Mexican omelette is still the best with huge chunks of steak in it. I have never found any other diner across this great country of ours that even compares!!!

A good place to go after the beach or after the bars close down and youre drunk af but still have enough sense to "just say no" to Dennys or Norms. You get a lot of food here. I do believe they have bacon wrapped onion rings or something like that. Saw it just the other day. Crazy. You cant go wrong with burgers, floats, or the shakes. Butterscotch shake ftw.

Used to be an amazing late night favorite of mine, but theyve made a series of menu changed in the past year or two, and Im just not a fan. Theyve also increased their prices quite a bit from what they had been. The food is still good, and its one of the few places open 24 hours, but compared to what it had been its definitely a step in the wrong direction.
