Not so Hot! My husband and I were suppose to meet friends at another restaurant but the wait was to long. Our friends changed plans to this place. We had never been here before and I do not think we will ever go again. The food was not that good! I took a few bites of their chips and salsa. It was just ok. I ordered a 2 item combo. Chicken enchilada and Chili Relleno, with beans. I substituted a salad for the rice. My husband ordered a grilled chicken salad. (sorry dont remember exactly what it was listed as on the menu) If we hadnt been there with friends we probably would have sent the food back. I only took one bite of each item. The Chicken enchilada... chicken was very bland. The chili relleno might have been alright but the sauce it came with tasted like it was out of a can. The refried beans were way too dried out. Which made me think they have been reheated or sitting for a long time. (definitely not fresh!) My husband was not happy with his salad as well, to the point he didnt finish much. The service was OK. Our waitress came back every now and then to check on us and refill drinks. We were suppose to follow up our dinner with a movie but by the time everyone else was done eating, I was not feeling well at all. We ended up going straight home.

Awesome spot. Googled for a place to eat in Lodi while driving home from Sacramento and this spot showed up with good reviews. Some friends of ours from Lodi have always raved about the place so we decided to give it a shot. From the outside you wouldnt realize how nice the ambience is inside. Its dark, and cozy. I cant really exaplain it any other way. The vibe was really nice and intiment. The staff was friendly and food was promptly served. Great selection of food and options. I was a little sad at the lack of spice to the food. It was GREAT food so dont take that the wrong way, just with the name of the restaurant I was expecting a bit more of a bite to the meal. Still, very enjoyable experience and will make sure to stop in on our visits to Lodi.

Been going there since they became Habanero Hots from El Papagallo, the most notable carryover being the unique dinner salad that comes with most meals. When the current owner took over, he spiced up the menu as well as the decor, as well as the "Beat The Heat" challenge where you eat a habanero pepper, earning you a picture on the wall and a t shirt. Food is spicy and tasty, not recommended for people sensitive to flavorful food. They also have a full bar as well as a shop in the front where they sell a variety of hot sauce, as in the use gloves when handling type. Overall, the place is a great family restaurant where if you leave hungry its your own fault

Slightly higher prices than some other Mexican restaurants but at least you get a decent portion. Service was good. Food was okay. Friday nights are busy. Id have to admit the menu is lacking some creativity. They have all the traditional dishes but not a lot of original or unusual dishes for those who like to try new stuff. Oh and the gravy they claim to be so great is very watery; dont waste your money. I would go here again if friends or family insisted but Casa Flores is much better.

This is my familys go to place. We can never decide on a place but one person mumbles habenero hots and its smiles all around. Their food is always amazing and friendly staff to boot. The chips and salsa are usually half of our meal because theyre awesome. Every excuse for a night out we choose this place and happily drive the 40 minutes here. Make sure to make a reservation because dinner time is usually quite busy.

We had Habanero Hots cater a professional meeting business lunch for us. They (especially John) were terrific to work with: from the original discussion of the menu, a varied menu (that accommodated several special dietary needs) at a very reasonable price, very prompt delivery (4 minutes early -- perfect!), and delicious and plentiful food. I would recommend them to anyone planning a luncheon in the Lodi area!

Mothers day 2016, love their food, however today it was busy, we were added to the waiting list I was told by one of the food server happy mothers day, I could set at the bar and wait for a table. A table for 10 went, by a table for 4 passed us, a table for 6 went pass us and then a table for 2 passed us. They checked us off the list and forgot us That was my Mothers day gift from Habanero hots.

ok I am white and I do like their food a lot. I used to go once a week for years, no kidding. But it helped me get fat and Im eating a lot healthier now. Their plates are huge and yes very good. My main problem isnt the amount of time it takes them to take an order, its to get me a check. Half the time I had to walk it to the register to settle up. They really got to work on this.

Called in advance for food to pick up an order on my lunch break, when I arrive I waited 22 minutes and they still didnt have my food. If you want quick food youre better off going somewhere else. This delay would have been expected if they were short staffed or had it been full, however aside from the 6 people who came after me it was empty.

Its really a great place to get Mexican in Lodi...the prices are decent, the food is great, and the service is good. I like the atmosphere....some great memories of going here with my grandma when I was younger. Theres also a bar and you can buy their hot sauces...in case this is something thatll persuade you! :)

The wife and I shared an appetizer platter. The Amarillo eggs & nachos were really good. The mini tacos, cheese quesadilla & Salsa ranch were ok bit nothing special. The chips were fresh and tasty, the salsa good but not great. Service was nice and friendly. Overall a good experience.

Great food but service is definitely hit or miss, seems like the owners friends also get prompt service. We waited 20 min just for drinks while people just arriving were taken care of sooner. Really wish they would take care of this, my husband will never go back.

Stake was smothered in grease and almost all full of fat .The rice tasted plain and beans as if they were out of a can 52 dollars wasted. A place for gringos More like half a star I do not recommend eating here unless you are buying for your dog.

Habanero Hots is a nice place to eat. Good service, really good food and the whole "eat the habanero" thing is pretty cool. I have eaten one only once. Thank God for tasty chips and beer to help that fire!!!!!! The steaks are really good too.
