I kind of dont want to give this place a good rating... I dont want to have more competition on getting a table, or getting take-out quickly. I adore this place. Absofreaking love this place. Our family gets takeout from here more often than dining in because its pretty loud even in the new location. I miss the old building where you could dine out back, but they had severely outgrown their old building (which is next door to the new place). Every burger is hand made and fresh. Its like someone grilled it in their backyard. The waiters and waitresses are fun and really know their beer. They are also one of the ONLY places that is lucky enough to get Pliny the Elder (and even Pliny the younger which sells out within 2 hours). I dont even drink beer because I cant stand it, but Ive sipped their various different options and they always have a great flavor... Im just not a beer person ;) If you like garlic, you MUST get the garlic fries. Everyone gets to feel like a kid because with absolutely every single meal, you get a Tootsie roll lollypop :D The ambiance is wonderful. They already do really good business and thankfully theyve been able to expand without losing any of the charm or quality. I hate writing this good review... dont steal one of my favorite dining places! :P

What can I say, the Ale House is that place that you always know you can go and have a good experience. You dont want to drink beer and eat burgers everyday (because that would be unhealthy, not because youre a commie... Merica), but pretty much everything on the menu here is good. Its a bustling spot, they have outdoor seating out front, an often-enclosed and heated outdoor section on the side, a few big common seating tables if you want to rub elbows with your local dentist or plumber or Lawrence Lab tech for dinner... They have a big ol list of brews (local and big label), wines, ciders, and of course iced tea and sodas for the kids ;) The Ale House... Its that good local option that always comes up when you ask her (or him, we dont discriminate here), "what do you want to do for dinner babe?" You can name of 437 other restaurants, but once youve been to the Ale House, its always going to be top 5 if you want to be in Livermore.

Amazing burgers and rotating beer list. Super friendly atmosphere. Its not too loud inside and you can actually hear your friends talking to you. A large bar for first come first serve seating, and a large section of community tables in the back mean that you can usually show up and get a seat without waiting if you dont mind sitting next to others. If you want your own table, the wait isnt too bad. The outside seating is great as well. Thursdays can be a little packed due to "pint night", where they offer a logod glass from the brewery of a select beer when you order that beer. Refills of that beer are also discounted that day. These guys make one of my favorite burgers in town. They also bring in some of the best IPAs from not only around the bay, but all over the states. The staff has always treated me well and are very friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

We were passing through Livermore on Fathers Day and stopped here for dinner. The place was very large and even on a holiday, we were seated quickly. I tried their root beer and a burger and they were great. Theyre known for their garlic fries, but I preferred the beer batter fries. To my daughters delight, everyone gets a Tootsie Pop Lollipop for dessert. Our waiter was very personable and discussed the history of the Tootsie Pop legend of the Indian and the Star with us. I dont think Id drive from San Francisco just to eat here, but if Im in town, I would definitely check them out again. It was located on the main street surrounded by lots of cute shops, and we found nearby parking without a problem.

Downtown Livermore has been transformed into to a nice place to hangout. The AleHouse is a very popular place and both nights I found room at the bar to sit and eat dinner. The staff is great and very helpful with both dinner recommendations which were top notch. The fish tacos and Guinness were great. More importantly is that the background music is just that, background and not over bearing! I hate places that blast music early in the evening when families and travelers are enjoying their dinner. Price is a good deal, $27 for 2 Guinness and the dinner special including tip (>20%). I will definitely be back on my next visits.

First Street Ale House is a local favorite. The menu is extensive, as well as the restaurant. Theres lots of seating; however, many people like to dine here so there is a wait. Since my party was just a party of two, we got a table pretty quickly. We shared chips and guacamole, which were ok. I ordered the chipotle chicken pita, which is a local favorite according to the menu. It looked small at first, but it was quite filling! The chipotle had just enough heat, and the pita was fresh. The atmosphere is pretty lively, so it must be a good place to watch a game. Id like to come back to try something new.

Back in the day before they expanded they had some killer sandwiches. After they expanded to the new building they got slowly worse to the point I didnt want to go there any more as it wasnt worth the wait or the crowd noise. I went back recently and most of my favorite items are gone what we had was just ok. Seems like over the years they have moved from fresh ingredients to frozen. So if you are here for something other than a beer it will likely be only ok, but they have a huge selection of beers. They are still one of the cheapest places on first Street which is probably why they remain so busy

Awesome place to go in Downtown Livermore. Probably one of the best weekend brunch spots on this side of the Tri-Valley. They have all the usual breakfast staples: bacon, eggs, sausage, etc. along with a custom omelette bar, and made to order Belgian waffles. For the price, it is an amazing deal. Large selection of beer as well. It can get crowded during brunch so get their early enough to get your grub on. Outdoor seating is available when the weather is nice.

We were hungry, it was late after 9pm and a friend suggested this place. We were seated quickly, our order was taken quickly and service was prompt and friendly. We had two orders of fish and chips and a steak salad. the fish and chips were very good but the portions were not that big. The steak salad was delicious. We must have come after the rush because many tables had not been totally picked up yet. There were still people coming in for drinks when we left.

Cool place in downtown Livermore. There were quite a few people there even though it was just a random weekday afternoon, but its pretty big so it didnt feel crowded. I had the grilled cheese of the week, which was really good, and a couple of beers. They have 28 taps, with a lot of good local stuff, and Coors light, something for everyone! Also the collection of beer cans on the walls is pretty epic. Nice spot to stop in before you hit the rest of downtown.
