Al Amir is as good as it gets for Lebanese breakfast/snack in south Orange County. The menu is brief and to the point - Arabic pizzas with various toppings (manakeesh), foul, hummus, sfeeha pies, and bite-sized sambousik. The assembly process is transparent, you can watch the ingredients piled onto or spread over fresh bread before the combination is baked in an oven. The main reason why Al Amir stands out with respect to local competitors is that their dough is handmade, knead into balls, and pressed on-site. Another place in Irvine that sells manakeesh appears to use store-bought bread, with a much different taste and mouthfeel. The crust of Al Amirs pizza is my favorite feature because its airy, thin, crispy, and finishes off slightly chewy. I ordered the zaatar variation and the spread tasted very fresh. I would recommend the zaatar if youre a fan of uninterrupted earthy, dried herb, and rich minty flavors on bread. The taste is very one-dimensional and basic. Thankfully, Al Amir did not appear to add any other chemicals or artifical ingredients to the pizza, so it tasted very natural and pleasantly light. Its perfect for breakfast, a snack, or even a second budget-friendly meal.

The food here is excellent!! I come here at least twice a month for lunch and would come by more if it was closer to work. Everyone at the office loves the cheese triangles. I normally bring back 2 dozen and they disappear within 5 minutes, even if everyone has already eaten their lunch before they get there!

The greatest service ever! Great food, very authentic, and most importantly very generous in their servings. Very reasonable pricing "you get what you pay for" worth every penny! I drive from Fullerton especially to get a taste of their great food! Highly recommend

We order Spinach it was not cooked well Humus plate tasted great but the bowl was 1/4 full They messed up the order and did not give us a receipt to check our order Overall the food is alright

Excellent place. I dont think you can get such a freshly baked pizza made of fresh ingredients for such a price. It is no doubt worth the wait as it might take 10 minutes. I highly recommend.
