-Update- They have a All You Can Eat menu and its not limited to special days anymore :). Still delicious and my favorite place in Irvine! --------------------- Note: AYCE is only Monday-Thursday and lunch time on Saturday (maybe Sunday). So, you can imagine my sadness when I went there for dinner Saturday Night. I got a parking space right in front, when I know there is usually at least an hour wait =(. I shared a combo 3 with my bro and our "AYCE" session turned out to be around 90 bucks after tip and beer instead of $20 bucks a person. My first experience of Shik Do Rak was in Ktown in LA. I still will never forget the images of my friends birthday. Go there in a group and bring a cake and the birthday boy or girl will be sprayed with Champagne MTV Cribs or Jayz Big Pimpin style. So when I saw a Shik Do Rak in Irvine, I flock to it like 21 year old does to Vegas. Combo 3 comes with Kalbi, thin beef, pork belly, and soju or beer. I substituted the pork belly for more beef and the soju for beer. I was ready to enjoy, but did not go full korean style; therefore, the soju will be next time. Dont worry I did not drive home drunk, but I did go home with a food coma. I recommend getting the Blueberry yogurt for dessert at the end. It taste like blueberry bubble gum to me. It also reminds of Yogurtland, but just eat the free yogurt shot cup and save your money. I recommend going during AYCE! I truly enjoyed the Korean bbq experience and the fresh side dishes. Usually most Korean bbq, only gives meat, salad (lettuce), wraps and hot sauce, but Shik Do Rak include ALL the standard side dishes you will find at a Korean restaurant. My stomach was full, but my wallet was left empty. For $40 a person, I rather hit up Wynn Buffet or some lobster. AYCE meat in Irvine with beer MMMmmm. Gun Bae

Not a great place to hang out with friends. The food quality was ok, the bean stew was in a little bowl which went cold real quick. But the service made it worse. My friends and I spcifically choose this place to eat because it said on Yelp and front of there store that it closes on 12am. But when we went they were rushing us on ordering food and told us that they were taking last calls at 11:20… by 11:40 they were telling all the customers that they were closing soon and giving us our check when we werent even finish to being done. By 12 they were chasing us out, leaving me shock, I seen a huge party standing outside talking about how confused they were about being chased out of the store. I am a huge fan of korean bbq so I been so many places in California and I can say that they have lost a customer. I rather go to a korean bbq little farther than coming here paying basically the same price but with better service.

They are going from good to OK to bad to worst... I live near the restaurant so I used to go to this restaurant once every month. The service was awful from the beginning. I never seen the manager smile once. Most of the waitress are RUDE. They will hate you if you order more than once even though its "all you can eat". Last time I went they told me "you order a lot!!!" actually I ordered 2 plates... Most importantly their meet has changed. I guess its to lower the cost but the quality of the meet is far below acceptable. Even hot sauce has changed. I think they now use cheap ingredients to make hot sauce. It is very sad to see a good restaurant to become so bad.. i guess its a mismanagement. I AM NEVER GOING BACK!!!

ABSOLUTELY RUDE. My first time to leave a review online. The food was ok. I wouldnt have mind this until the end, when the waiter suddenly blurted out of nowhere to my family: "You dislike our service? Why just 4 dollars?!" Wha??? Were just 3 people. Apparently the tip wasnt enough. Hmmm, you handed me raw meat that I cooked myself, paid for my food, left a tip, and you talk down to a customer about an additional tip??? I wouldnt mind giving him extra if he rephrased his question in a better approach. And when we were at the door, probably because of guilt, he said "would you like to get the free dessert?" WOW! You complained on the tip before finishing a full service... the dessert was suppose to be included!!! Incredible! Curse this place.

Bom restaurante estilo BBQ coreano. Serve se boas porções à vontade. Ambiente simples, porém atendimento eficiente. No entanto costuma haver filas de espera. Há várias opções de "pacote" de churrasco, após escolher o conjunto de carnes a ser servido, pode se servir à vontade. Acompanhamentos "bantchan" inclusos

They refused to allow myself and my daughter (we are both vegetarian) order just the salads at a recent family dinner. In fact they took our place settings away. We offered to pay for salads, but they would not allow it; it became very uncomfortable. I have never been in a restaurant where they refused to allow someone to purchase just vegetables. Yes I get it is primarily a "meat" establishment, but the rudeness and level of hostility was terrible. We stayed only because the other member of our party enjoys that food. I will never return.

It is an okay Korean BBQ place. The grill setup is a bit weird as the grill plate itself does not fit correctly on the burner (maybe this is intention but your grill plate will always be crooked). The upside is the wait is not that long if you want some food in your stomach. On a personal note, I do enjoy eating some exotic meat (i.e. intestines) and I have to say, if its your first time, dont try it here. Intestines are delicious if done correctly but the quality of meat here does not meet up with other places Ive been.

Theyre food is of good quality, but what sets them apart from other places is their service. They get really busy, and when I say busy, I dont mean a little crowded, I mean that there is not a seat in the place and they still have a 45 minute wait. With all of this going on they still have little servers able to work the floor, and even with all of this, I always had food on my plate and my cup was never empty.

The meat is very bland. The service is friendly. The grill is the WORST!!! its a small round plate that doesnt fit enough over the burner so u can see all the oil floating & pops every where. Doesnt drain properly so the flames go out all the time (5x) watching ur food sit as u attempt to find a waiter to restart the grill. Only allowed to order 2 meats at a time. Disappointing & not recommended. :(

an all you can eat korean bbq. or, if you prefer, a set menu, although it isnt really worth it for the price. the main bonus of getting the set menu is that the meat quality might be a little better, and the servers will cook your meat for you. food is pretty good. note that youll probably leave with your clothes reeking of bbq smoke (which can be a good thing, if you love bbq smells like i do!)
