Your breath will stink but get the GARLIC NOODLES! My friend and I were searching for a place to grab a late lunch in Brea and so we decided to check out this place for some delicious Cajun food. Like Boiling Crab and other similar establishments, On the Hook serves seafood by the pound (shrimp, clams, crabs, crawfish, etc) but the the difference is they also have some really good entrees and appetizers where you dont have to get your hands dirty. Since we werent exactly starving we decided to share the following: -Garlic noodles $8.99 (you can chose veggies and chicken for +$1.50, beef, shrimp or sausage for +$2 or clams for +$3) we opted to add shrimp and sausage -Cajun fries $3.99 -Blueberry lemonade $4.25 -Draft Beer $6-$8 The portion sizes are really big so just one entree and one appetizer was already pretty filling. The garlic noodles were flavorful and I would definitely go back and order this again. The blueberry lemonade was refreshing and it had actual blueberries inside! It came in a cute mason jar and they dont skimp on the blueberries! The waitress also mentioned their awesome happy hour menu. Happy Hour M-F (5pm - 7pm) -50% off bottled beers -50% off wine -$2 off draft beers -$1 oysters The best part is they also incorporated the cool sizzling foam soap at the end of the meal so you can wash your hands and clean up without having to head to the restroom!

HH is awesome here: M-F 5-7pm 50% off bottled beers 50% off wine $2 off draft beers $1 oysters They dont do RSVPs here so you have to sign your name on their clip board which they have a table in the front to check in. Sauce for crawfish, crab legs & dungeness crab is thick, garlicky & very tasty. This beats most of the crawfish places in the little Saigon area, even Boiling Crab. Crawfish was fresh, not frozen 4 stars Crab legs had a lot of meat & wasnt frozen either 4 stars Strawberry lemonade was yummy & had slices of strawberries inside of the mason jar that it came in, but didnt have free refills. 3.5 stars beignets: 2 stars Took forever to come out & only comes in 3s & scoop of vanilla ice cream is $1 extra Garlic fries: 2 stars Just ok, came out to be a bit on the soggy side & bland too, this didnt have much garlic or flavor to it. This place is very family friendly, I saw a lot of people bring their kids here too. Tip: This place can get packed during dinner time so be sure to come in early before the dinner rush.

Update: Dropped a star from 3 to 2. This time the fried calamari and the beer batter fish and chips were just plain oily. They were dripping greasy. That is typically indicative of incorrect frying temperature. No one checked the oil temp?!? The clams and mussels were good, but the shrimps just did not taste that fresh. The shell was really stuck on the shrimp, not willing to come off either. Shrimp meat taste hard, tough, starchy and dead. The seasonings were still good and tasty but I am not there just to eat the spicy buttery sauce. I hope it is just a one time off kilter event. I hate to see another good restaurant slowing giving up quality in the name of cost cutting. Old review: Cajun flavor. Buttery, spicy and garlicky sauce with all the seafood you ordered in a bag. Served with everything dumped on the table. Kind of messy but fun nonetheless.

Originally went next store to Olive Pit but that place was insanely packed. Decided to give On The Hook a shot because hey, why not? Dear lawd, SO GLAD! Atmosphere was great, food was even better. I ordered the strawberry mojito and it was on point. Love the fact they have draft craft beers. Now for the main course, I split a pound of shelled shrimp/sausage/hook it up sauce with my boyfriend and it was filling! The sauce was AMAZING. I got an extra side of it just to take home and cook chicken thighs in it. The flat bread was super yummy. Even my kids chicken tenders were great! I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. The cool thing that my preschooler and toddler loved was the bubbly hand mix that they bring out at the end of the meal to wash your hands. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. We will be back!

Nice spot in the city of Brea, they have indoor and outdoor seating . But no alcoholic beverages at the out door area. They have a great selection of food aside from the boiled seafoods. What we ordered: Blueberry lemonade Jambalaya was pretty good but had a large dose of pepper ... To much for my liking . Calamari- had better ones it was a tad over cooked . Garlic noodle: this was a hit Shrimp - was large shrimps taste was ok. Beignet- was large and I wish they had told us they add some honey or what ever syrup that was. I prefer to have it with just the powdered sugar . Over all when in the area I dont mind coming here again.

Yay! They offer peeled shrimp here! No longer have to worry about messy hands. :) What We Ordered - 6 Happy Hour Oysters - Jambalaya - 2lbs of Peeled Shrimp, All Hooked Up- Mild Oysters were a little small but, cant complain for $1 each. The Jambalaya was good. I wished it had more kick to it! Sadly, I still love the one at Cheesecake Factory more. :P My favorite part of the meal was the peeled shrimp! They were plump and all you had to use was a fork! ^_^ However, since they had no shell on, more of the sauce was absorbed so it was a tad on the saltier side. It was good nonetheless. I will be back! :)

Seafood lovers should come here, AND garlic lovers as well, they have 3 sauces, it was recommended to get them all mixed. I ordered the shrimp, which was really good in the beginning but a bit overwhelming in garlic taste after a while, prepare to not kiss your gf or wife for a while :) the king crab was tasty, overall good, but not just for everyone. I do recommend the dessert specialty, that was good.

Their Louisiana shrimp is really good. They have their own style of spice and very juicy and enjoyable. We came here to celebrate my sisters birthday and the crews sang to my lil sis and everyone clapped and cheered after. The place is very small but they can manage it with no issue. During night time, this place gets very busy. I would recommend coming in very early to enjoy your seafood.

This place seems to never disappoint. I love the all shook up spice combo that infuses the seafood with wonderful flavor. Make sure you add potatoes and bread to you order. Use that to soak up the spices. Really like the freshness of the snow crab. Dont forget to try their Thai ice tea and finish the meal with sugary beignets.

Never had a bad meal here! The food is delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive. And the value for what you receive is phenomenal. Personal recommendations.: The Gumbo soup and the Jambalaya (order it spicy if you need to clear your sinuses)

Coming from someone who doesnt really like seafood... This place is great! Fun atmosphere with friendly and attractive staff! Their Cajun whitefish was an excellent choice for the anti-seafood me. Would try some more seafood again here in the future.

Great food! If you want some fresh seafood, this is the place! King crab here is the bomb. The only thing i dont like is that u cant mix and match your seafood. You have to get a pound of one thing, you cant go half lb of this and half lb of that...
