I would highly advise people not stay at the Yosemite Ridge Resort because of how the owner, Joe, treats their prospective patrons. After the last several email communications with Joe, I will never stay at this place even though I visit and stay in or nearby Yosemite 2-3 times per year. There are several concerns I have with Joe and his business but the main issue is that he will charge you a $20 admin fee for cancellations despite it not being clearly articulated on their website nor in the reservation confirmation email I received after booking my reservation. See the attached email and website screen prints showing what my understanding was based on my reservation email and their website policies. I initially called to cancel my reservation and did not ever receive a call back about it. I ended up having to email them as a second form of communication to make my cancellation request. I feel like I have had to hound them in getting a response back to both the cancellation request and then about the concern about the $20 admin fee. I have tried to be gracious in my communications trying to let him know that I do not remember seeing anything about a cancellation fee. I asked if he would do a goodwill gesture and return the $20 admin charge since I did not see it online or in my emails. I felt like he ignored my email by not responding to my email for over a day and then after I sent another follow up email over a day later he was rude in his response back. It just shows his true character with handling client interactions. I also felt very concerned with this business that they would not provide a receipt to me of how much they would be charging my credit card when booking the reservation. It all just shows how unprofessional this business is. So the bottom line is that it would be better to find another place to stay where the owners are professional and will treat their patrons with respect

What a fantastic place. The YRR is clean, staff amazingly nice and informative, the facilities are plain but working nicely and overall a great place. This is a "no frills" RV place. We have stayed at places that have many pools, large lodges, mini-golf, etc, etc. This doesnt have any of them because it just doesnt need them because youre just a 45 minute drive from Yosemite Valley with the most amazing mother nature has to offer. We stayed in a "Family Cabin" which is PERFECT for our family of four. My kids loved the bunk beds, it was GREAT being able to have breakfast, pack lunches and then have dinner back in the cabin. There were enough pots & pans for me to make nice meals. The little table fit perfectly for the family. The YRR also has newer playground equipment. The kids loved swinging on the swings and we had some great games of tether-ball. I used the common facilities (just for curiosity) and they are clean and well maintained. We did laundry there as well. Only $1 for wash and $1 for dry. The machines worked great. The little store had stuff we needed (but expensive as expected). We shopped on way to Yosemite in Stockton at a Safeway and it worked out great. Theres also good grocery store in Groveland just 3-4 miles from the YRR. The owner also informed me they are putting in a pool in summer 2015! My highest recommendation!

My visit to Yosemite Ridge Resort happened quite by coincidence, lucky coincidence. I happened to be in California on an extended visit from the East coast and jumped at the opportunity to visit Yosemite. Yosemite Ridge Resort provides different options to the visitor, long term or short term. You can R/V here or take up a bungalow of suitable size for your party. We stayed at a charming little lodge that reminded me of the tiny home movement that I have been reading about taking a foot hold on the West Coast. You will feel at home here with all the amenities included with your stay not to mention the great staff Joe (the owner) has put together that makes this place a unique stop before visiting the Park. Get local knowledge about the Park before you head in from the locals here, check out the large oak tree on the back of the property, take in your surroundings and then go see the giant trees at any of the groves and then come back and you will appreciate the size of this oak when you return. Other easy amenities are the gas station on the premises, the general store and Buck Meadows Restaurant near by--they serve Schooner size beer. Great place to stage your trip to the park.

We recently had the good fortune to spend our fourth stay in a cozy cabin here for a few days just before the Rim Fire. When we heard about it on the news, we were broken hearted at the thought that this mountain getaway would be lost to us forever. Fortunately the fire left the resort alone. My wife and son and I have stayed in a different cabin every year and found each one of them to be charming and accommodating. It was like staying at something like a five star scout camp, with the best of both worlds, camping and hoteling, We loved hiking in the quiet woods, smelling the pines and watching wild animals, then coming back to an air conditioned cabin with a kitchen and a wide screen TV. This last time, we drove all the way out there and didnt even go to the National Park just down the road. We were so entertained at the resort. Just kicked back, had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the family restaurant. We only started the car once. That was to go to the Rainbow Pool. My son and I loved playing basketball and teather ball off from the cabin area, and bumper pool, darts and table shuffleboard in the restaurant. Never left camp for days.

A great place to stop and spend the night or a week just 12 miles from the entrance of Yosemite Park. We stayed 2 nights and had a wonderful weekend. Many cabins and RV spots are also available. Best to make reservations ahead of time though. We stayed in a Loft Cabin that had a separate bedroom with a queen size bed. There was also a loft with a queen size bed. There was also a set of bunk beds and a futon sofa. Also included a big flat screen TV with DirectTV and a full kitchen, (microwave, coffee maker and a full size refrigerator) .The cabins were very clean with a knotty pine theme. Would be a great place for a family reunion or a large group. RV spots have full hookups and Bar-B-Que pits There are play areas for the kids and showers for the RVers. A General Store right on the property so you dont have to go to far for supplies. We enjoyed the Buck Meadows restaurant which is about a block down the road from the resort. The food was very good and reasonably priced. All the employees of the resort and the restaurant were very helpful and polite. Well be going back for sure.

We really enjoyed our time at this small, clean, cozy campground. We visited the other campgrounds nearby, and found this to be our favorite in the area. Friendly and very helpful owner. Old style restaurant with good home cooking just 3 minutes down the road. No Verizon cell phone reception. Wi-Fi was strong but had a data limit use. DirecTV (free standing satellite) had no issue getting a signal. Park is 30 minutes from Yosemite’s west entrance. Laundry could use some TLC. Be sure to utilize New Priest Grade when driving from the west. Our family is currently traveling this beautiful country via RV style, and have been RVing for many years. Therefore, we have an idea between high-standard qualities and poor quality. We utilize Trip Advisor and Google to assist us on locating top attractions, tasty restaurants and exciting locations within our wonderful country.
