This place has a really cute exterior with its green building and monkey logo but I didnt think the food was all that great so this rating is actually more of a 2.5 stars rounded up. The dining area inside was all open space, and really LOUD too. So when the waitress asked us if we wanted to eat outside, we jumped on it since we wanted to catch up. We got: Berries & Cream Waffles $9 - This was said to be popular but I didnt like how it wasnt crispy. You get 2 waffles and cream and berries are on top. Ehhhh. Maybe the pancakes version is better? Didnt seem worth it since it didnt come with anything else. Ortega Scramble $9 - Eggs scrambled with turkey bacon, avocado, tomato. Comes with choice of bread and either potatoes or fruit. I didnt think this was memorable either. :T They are supposedly a non-profit social experiment though, which Im not quite too sure what it means. Perhaps their profits go back to the Hart Community Homes that they advertise? They also say that they get ingredients from the Fullerton Arboretum.

love coming to this place the owners are great they help the community with the Foster children of Orange County. I too was awarded to the state when i was young. I only wish that in the 70s they would of had places like this one. the staff is very kind and hard workers. I like that they allow donations to thier cause to help todays Foster children. the menu is great I love thier Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, turkey sandwich.and thier chicken wraps their great. They cook everything fresh I, love thier service there friendly. they greet you with a smile. the place is clean. the place is casual you can come dressed causual as well. Many college students go there and they even have WIFI. so its a great convenience for everyone. they also bake fresh baked cookies and they are great. Ive been coming here for 2 years. you will love this place as much as I do. I bring my family here a lot and spread the word to all my friends.

You know whats better than enjoying a good meal with a good friend? Supporting a good cause SIMULTANEOUSLY! And you can do that HERE! This is a non-profit cafe assisting at-risk youth. So you can feel favorable spending your hard-earned change here, knowing it will work hard for the community! So, the menu and food are basic; the service, not exactly top-notch but friendly for the most part! Also, during breakfast today, a late Saturday morning while the place was packed, our coffee cups were constantly monitored for refills, we never had to ask - thumbs up! Not only do all proceeds benefit their mission but they also support organic coffee farmers & suppliers in serving organic fair trade coffee. Parking is limited, but if you go on their website you can print a parking permit for a nearby lot. If youre nearby and want something good, while doing some good... Try some Monkey Business!

Pretty underwhelmed by this place. Both the ambience and the food remind me of a camp cafeteria. Got there and had to wait 10 or 15 minutes, so decided to order coffee from the counter in the back; the sound bar was blasting music right next to the counter so we could barely here each other to order. The soda machine was broken, and I dont know why it slipped the staffs mind to go buy 2-liters or cans. We ordered as soon as we sat down and it was pretty quick. However, they brought out my side of bacon 5 minutes before they brought out the pancakes. They forgot my friends pancakes and we had to ask for them and they kind of acted like she didnt know what she had ordered. They never checked on us except to bring the bill, and then they offered to refill drinks. In short, its a cheaper place with okay food and a not-too-long wait and relatively convenient parking.

I first came here for a date and it was an amazing experience, the food service and space was all top notch. The second time around I went by myself to grab some food before class. Unfortunately I made the mistake of ordering Acaí at an American breakfast restaurant thats on me but they should change the name from "Acaí Breakfast Bowl" to "Yogurt Breakfast Bowl" because this was the worst Acaí Ive ever had. I got the Veggie McMonkey my first and my date got the Berrys and Cream Waffles so I highly recommend those! Just do yourself a favor dont ever get the sad excuse for Acaí EVER. I still recommend this restaurant to anybody in the Downtown Fullerton area.

Good food, but not a homey feel. Its so close to being homey, with the dining room tables and cool paintings on the wall, but it lacks that "touch"! They only have two selections for coffee: hot and cold. It kind of feels like college students put it together. Dirty rags laying around little tiny things of half & half you have to open one at a time. No stir sticks. Maybe Im just a coffee person, but I wasnt thrilled. Not a place I would hang out with my family or anything. I would be more likely to go to Black Bear for better breakfast food at the same price, or Rutabegorz down the street for a better salad -and a better atmosphere!

This restaurant should be your go to place for breakfast in Fullerton. Parking was practically non-existence. the only parking available was about a five minute walk about 2 blocks from the restaurant. Worth the walk though. Outside there is a nice waiting area with wooden benches and the entire restaurant feels like a home dinning room. Wooden floors and wooden chairs makes me feel like Im at my grandmothers house. Food is delicious. I go the pancake meal with eggs, chili fries, jalapeno poppers and bacon. They are fast and the staff is really friendly. Children menu is great and definitely a place I would recommend.

Definitely one of my favorite spots to hit up while in Cali. The menu is unique and youll find something thats worth trying, youll want to go back to try other things too. I was very satisfied with the service, there was a wait but it wasnt long and they really took care of you. In addition to that they are dedicated to helping at risk youth and it would even seem that they has some of them working inside of the Cafe too so not only is the food good but the cause it good too.

Its a shame that a restaurant with such a positive mission statement has some of the worst food I have ever tasted. I was unaware that a cook can mess up breakfast food so bad. Undercooked waffels, over cooked omelets, and 4 pieces of fruit in the "fruit cup. We used to come here all the time but this will absolutely be the last time we try Monkey Business. Very sad to see this establishment go so far south with quality.

Came here to study, it was extremely loud inside. So I asked for the next available table outside. Then I was told it would be about a 2 minute wait because they just had to clean off the table for me outside. They proceeded to then sit someone else outside at the table they promised me. Oh yeah, and the food was cold. Bad service, Cold food, would not recommend. Students, do not come here to study.

First time here. I love their cause. However the food was cold. I ordered the traditional breakfast with potatoes, turkey bacon, potatoes and pancake. The only thing decent was the pancake. My son ordered a chocolate pancake and it was burnt and tasted awful so the good thing was i wasnt charged for it. The decor is ok, the waiter was nice. Why they tax you twice is beyond me. I wont go back.
