I hate to do this but am finally complaining against DOSA PLAcE for their incorrect/dishonest practises. I went to DOSA PLACE at on 07/10 and ordered a COMBO 2 that they advertise for $5.99. I gave him $20 and he returned me $12.88. I did not notice at first but then it came to mind that they should return me $13.50 approx. I asked the guy named SUFI (he is a fat guy and wears cap) for a receipt and he hesitated in giving me the receipt. But when I asked forcefully for a receipt, he gave me. In the receipt they have charged me $6.49 + tax. When I asked him why they are charging me $.50 extra, he said they have incresed the price but advertising the same old price. I told him to refund my entire money as i want to cancel my order but he bluntly refused. When I asked him for his owners /manager phone number, he bluntly refused saying he will not give and started laughing. He also used bitter language calling me a troublemaker and other bad words. The amount is low (just 50 cents) but still I am complaing. My friends have told me in the past that this place is involved in dishonest practices but i never believed. But they not only charged me extra but the guy (SUFI) treated me to a point of humiliation.

Ended up for late lunch last week- after seeing the spread of the buffet decided to try a little of everything- when I was informed that they will pick and deliver as a combo plate! Good enough I thought, as I was on a diet regiment! Great tasting food- a bit refreshing from the usual Indian joints that I have gotten used to - From Bombay Garden to Udipis. Late that night - the taste still lingering in my mouth decided to go back for some more- BIG MISTAKE! The Buffet type of settings still had the same items - ONLY DRY and not so appealing now! Thinking quickly decided to order Pongal combo hoping I could skip the left overs- Another Mistake- The Pongal was also hiding and getting dried in the buffet like area- and it was disheartening to see them scrape the food from the dry bowl which has been sitting all day ....! LESSON LEARNT: As the Taste is good go there for early lunch when they bring out the food fresh and stay out the rest of the day! Four Star Rating is for Early Lunch Taste and Quality ONLY!

Breadth of selection, quality ingredients, generous portion size, clean and a great place for families with kids Been going here for 2 years with my wife and kids. The food tastes incredible (try the cheese dosa, malabar paratha) with excellent portion sizes and a solid value for the money. Service is fast and friendly, you take the condiments that you need (sambar, chutney) and the atmosphere is always welcoming. The food isnt extremely spicy unless you ask for it that way. I am not highly price sensitive but I find that the food is consistently superior to Sarvana Bhavan. I see a lot of negatives here around food quality, service and cleanliness. I find the reviews to be laughable - they are obviously chalked up by competitors or people who dont understand the intricacies and nuances of a well cooked South Indian meal.

I would give them a 1 star because of not having cleanliness and some process they follow and the food taste. They provide only one cup per dosa order to use the sambar but say it is unlimited. I guess they have to put use and throw cups at least for clean and hygiene. People come with a dirty cups and put sambar and overfill in the actual sambar bucket. Some Chinese greedy people they overfill for 4-5 times and everytime while overfilling they make a very dirty filling and their bad cups sambar will be mixed with the sambar bucket. By seeing this makes disgusting here to even eating sambar with Dosa. Also, I have seen most Indians dont come with a clean hand for filling sambar. Its horrible and disgusting place unless they change the process.

Very bad quality and very bad customer service. We went there at 9 PM and we ordered a onion dosa and kal dosas. But they were in a hurry and made the Dosa and we were unable to eat because of the bad onion(bad quality, bad smell and non fried). When we told them about the dosa the response was very bad and they told us this is the way they make onion dosa. We have to throw the dosa in the dust bin. But we often eat onion dosa in other restaurants and they tastes good. Normally this restaurant closes at 9:30 but you can see the the restaurant workers rushing there to finish their dinner and packing up at 9 PM without bothoring the customers. I will not recomment this place to anyone.

The food is cheap and delicious, run by South Indians who know how to cook South Indian cuisine. There are Indo-Chinese foods and curries on the menu, though I recommend the dosas. There is a self-serve sambar bar, a self-serve chutney bar, and sambar comes free with any purchase. This is a great place to get take-out. I also prefer to eat outside since it gets very hot inside the restaurant and it can be too quiet to have a conversation sometimes. The food is spicy, but not too spicy for the regular spice lover. Also, everything is vegetarian! But meat-lovers dont be afraid - the food is so good you wont miss the meat. Vegans - try this place!

I walked in once and stood at the counter while the attendant ignored me for 3 minutes before leaving. I decided to give it one more go and ordered a meal. It was bad food. Ive eaten at 5 or 6 Indian restaurants including a buffet and I cant say the same about any of them. Theres maybe 2 or 3 restaurants Ive eaten at in my life that I would avidly turn people away from and never frequent again, most I gave multiple tries. This one got one try before I knew not to come back for sure. With Lovely Snacks and Sweets a few doors down serving outstanding and fresh food, you might as well go there.

I am not a guy who write reviews to any restaurant. This is my first review. I am in usa for past 7 years, travelled to many states and stayed for job. Am in fremont for past 2 years and here and then i used to buy food from this place. This is awesome and great place and worth for the price we pay. Now i feel why i paid or wasted my money at different place. I would recommend this restaurant for price, taste and wellness. Cheers

My family visits here almost once every 2 weeks. Taste is very good and very close to South Indian. I specially love their Hyderabadi Veg special dosa and gobi manchurian. Rice items are pretty good too and not to forget cut mirchi :) Prices are pretty reasonable. Only concern is I feel they are not the cleanest restaurant but its not too bad either.

Everytime we visit Fremont we use to visit this place, they have various varieties of dosas under affordable range. I must say the chef is really good and the staff is also supportive. The chutnies are awesome, sambar of two types one for Jain and another regular are really good. I can recommend this place to any south Indian food lover.
