Weve visited twice so far, but well be making this our go-to Omakase spot from now on. My BF has gone to Tommy-san (the main sushi chef) in Little Tokyo Restaurant in San Dimas for years, and was so sad when he found out it changed management. By chance, he found Tommy-san again when he ate here with friends. And the rest is history! **FIRST VISIT** We sat in front of the son since Tommy-san was busy. The sons English was perfect and explained every piece placed in front of us. We noticed that he liked "combo-ing" fishes together, so instead of 2 pieces at a time, it would be 4 or 5 altogether of different fishes. - Sashimi Salad - Whitefish Trio - Silverback Fish Duo - 5 Kinds Tuna - Uni - Grilled Fish - Seared Wagyu & Black Cod - Shellfish Trio Everything was delectable! The favorite was the Black Cod. God, that was tasty. **SECOND VISIT** This time, we had to wait an hour. But it was so worth it. We were seated in front of Tommy-san, and his endearing English was so cute! - Sashimi Salad: This time it was different because it has something called the "ice vegetable." It looks like beads of water but its just part of the vegetables skin. Trippy! And refreshing. - Sashimi Plate: FRESH amaebi still wiggling around. Tuna. Toro. Salmon. Hamachi. And bombass Tako Wasa. - Kaiseki Plate: Mini assortment of various cooked goods. Eggplant wrapped in bacon. Seaweed. Fried Shrimp Ball coated with roe. Vegetables. Homemade Tofu. - UNI: Absolutely HUGE uni. Delicious. - Black Cod: This was a personal request. Had to have this again. Its just so good. - Hairy Crab: I wanted to try something I havent tried before so my BF asked if ther was anything. They presented this Hairy Crab mixed with brain mixture. Im not a crab fan so I wasnt appreciative but my BF liked it! - Teriyaki Grasshoppers/Crickets: This was so amusing. Tommy-san busts out a bucket of this stuff and drops a handful on our boards. Tasted sweet! We didnt eat this but it just looked so cool. The mouth of an UNI! They served green tea and lychee ice cream too. We were totally stuffed! The damage was $160 with tax/tip included. WE WILL BE BACK!

Be prepared to wait for sushi bar as that seems to be the only place all the old regulars like us request to sit. But take joy in that these are the same owners that brought you "Little Tokyo" in San Dimas. Now back to the review. This review only deals with the sushi bar as I have never actually sat and ate from the dining room menu. Basically the only reason that Im giving this 4 and not 5 is the fact that there is no set way of waiting for a table. The waiting area is only 2 chairs and thats it. Patrons desiring to sit at the sushi bar are then directed to sit in the dining area tables. Well that sounds all well and good until a party of 5 comes in and you are then made to get up and move to another table. After doing this 3 different times (!) , the frustration started to manifest itself. However the food was fantastic and quickly put the circus of waiting out our minds. Traditional favorites are always served fresh and tasty here. But my recommendation would be to let the chefs go out on a limb and serve you something that they "just came up with". Good Eating!!!

Waited over an hour for a table simply because they took forever to bus the emptying tables. 9 available spots for our group of 2 were available and uncleaned at one point. When we finally sat down, the waitress was nice enough, and apologetic, acknowledging their shortcomings. But after we ordered and got our appetizers, our sushi and entres never came. 45 minutes after our appetizers arrived we let them know that they should cancel the rest of the order and we left. They did comp. my beer, but it was sadly too little too late. Too many other sushi places around here to put up with this kind of thing.

Omakase is the way to go. Koshu senior makes some killer sushi and Koshu junior is not slouch either. Either one will make for rich dining experience. Though senior might offer candied grasshopper for you to eat. One of the most spectacular sushi experiences Ive had is the tuna three ways. Seared tuna, Otoro, and tuna cheek. Delicious!

Food is great... Awful, awful service. Will not come back again. Tip for the owner, train your staff! A little smile, and greet the customers. Thats called customer service. ** Bathroom did not have any soap. I wonder about those hands that made our sushi...

Best mom and pop Japanese restaurant in the area! The staff is predominately Chinese due to the area, but the younger staff is super friendly. Hisae and Tomi have been at this for years and do their best to leave you satisfied with their food.

It was terribly, awfully not good. Black avocados that they insisted were good and tough tendon in all our sushi. Shame, its been good in the past.
