The staff was devoid of personalty, with the exception of our waitress, who was helpful, energetic and attentive. But those who wore the black BBD shirts didnt appear to be interested in being there. We ordered two entrees. The Tuna Chef Salad was huge! Lots of lettuce and cucumbers and other assorted veggies topped with two generous scoops of tuna salad. I was told it was good. It could have served 2 people easily. I ordered two multi-grain pancakes. Be warned, they are enormous! One is the size of 2 regular size pancakes, so this order also could have served two, very easily. I was ready to enjoy, expecting delicious flapjacks. That was not the case. They were very undercooked, almost felt like the batter was still fresh and only warmed up. I suggested to the waitress that they should cook them a bit longer. She offered to replace them, but I declined. We took the salad to go and left the remains of the pancakes. Most likely I wont return.

The food was great and so was the portions but the hostess/ cashier was off. We asked for hot chocolate with whip creAm she said we have whipped cream but its not for the hot chocolate.... cant she just charge extra to just put it on..... then when when I paid with a card and she just looked at the recipt and me like no tip when I always leave a cash tip on the table. This was on February 19 @7:54 or so... but other then the weird hostess/ cashier the overall atmosphere and food was good... I will definitely be returning more then likely just not to that location..... for our first time there not bad.....55 bucks for three adults and 2 kids...

Looking for big burgers or great food at a decent price? Look no further blackbear is one of my favorite restaurants. I love the big portions theyre roasted red potatoes are amazing and their staff is always polite has great customer service I have never had an issue there and Ive been going since the day they open. The environment and the experiences is over satisfying. Word of caution the weekends are very busy come early!..

Good food. Had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was a little greasy, but tender. Waffles were good, but its a standard Belgian waffle with a secret blend. Nice flavor overall, though not exactly as expected. Berry shake was good, but lighter tasting than expected. Service was okay, but not stellar. Overall, I like the atmosphere, menu, and idea. But I think putting in a little more effort would push it from good to great.

Dirty, staff was dirty, microwaved food(you can see them do it as you walk in too-we did and we should of left then-but we had a guest with us an we were in a hurry )-food was awful , our table had over cooked , under cooked and raw steaks-cold soggy veggies. Two steaks were supposed to be ribeye-they were not-we were very disappointed. Buena Park BBD is better-do yourself a favor and go there.

I have to admit, I wasnt a fan at first. Im not a meat eater, and the whole menu consists of meat. I mean, even their ranch dressing has bacon in it. But I came back and gave it another shot. Im a big breakfast fan and they didnt disappoint. Their french toast is some of the best Ive ever tasted. That and some hash browns (with the mama bear hot sauce of course) and my tummy is happy.

I have a home in Lake Havasu. We have a Black Bear Diner and go frequently. The food is delicious, old style Americana, with a casual vibe. Living here in SoCal, after visiting St Judes regularly. Its nice to see a bit of home just down the street. The Fullerton Black Bear Diners food is just as good, with the comfortable atmosphere and the staff are spectacular.

Did not enjoy at all. Went in on a Saturday morning at six thirty. Only three customers. Ordered the steak and eggs. Steak dry, tough and no flavor. Hash browns dripping in butter. Service was slow. Had to keep asking for coffee. Glad I didnt go in when it was busy. Thirty dollar breakfast that neither of us will return for again. Sorry. Not a good experience.

Well this is the only 5 star review Ive given. Old school quality vibe and service. Huge portions Great value. New restaurant, I remember this used to be a Bobs Big Boy back in the 70s. I took my 84 year old mother and she loved it. I had the steak and eggs (New York) and it was big and delicious. Well worth it! Well Done Black Bear Diner.

What can you say, comfort food at its finest. Today my wife had the Slow-Cooked Pot Roast and I had the (Out of the ordinary for me) Pecan Crusted Trout. It was AMAZING! Peach Cobbler a la mode...Perfect. Service was fantastic! Walked out of there just purely satisfied. If I could give it 6 Stars I would.

Charming menu looks like a newspaper. Server was kind, but inattentive to specific details on orders. Wanted potato salad as a side but got French fries. This restaurant is on the more expensive side considering this place is a chain that looks like a dressed up Farmer Boys.

While the turkey club sandwich was a little lacking in flavor, the biscuits, chicken strips, and fries were delicious. The staff was very friendly. The bathrooms were incredibly clean. Great experience here and would come back if Im in the area again.

Food was better than Dennys however I did feel a little slided after reviewing my bill. I was charged for what I thought came with the meal. It was as tho the waitress implied the house biscuit was an item option, instead of an upgrade.
