Its a step above IHOP and Dennys which is why youll always find me here on late nights indulging on none other than breakfast. I get the same thing I always get - 3 slices of thick french toast and an endless cup of coffee. Keep it coming. And if Im feeling extra hungry, Ill add a side of scrambled eggs but thats usually a bad idea because the french toast usually fills me right up. Parking is sticky here. Its a small, super tiny lot and even on late nights, youll have an issue finding some parking and might have to park elsewhere and walk over which really sucks. Service inside is good. Quick seating, clean tables, and they keep the refills coming. If you tell them to leave you alone and just be good on the refills, theyll do that. No one wants to be asked a million times how their food is especially if youve been there a million times and pretty much know how it is..ya know.. just leave me alone with my breakfast and coffee.

We have been coming here since 1995 and have been quite pleased with both food and service. Recently however including this afternoon, l have been disappointed with my NY steak order. This has happened several times before. I even gave the waitress fair warning that my medium rare order will end up well done. Sure enough, lve had to return my order since they arrived well done. Although they replaced it with another, l am getting a little bit tired of appearing like a difficult customer which l am not. I guess l will give Norms a pass the next time l feel like having a NY steak. Pity, youve got great staff. Maybe the manager needs to give a little more attention to the the kitchen. BTW, for the first time in many years, my vegetables looked very unappetizing with burnt onions over marrows. I guess this is one way that cook was expressing his response of "letting off some steam"?

When you think of NORMS, you think of American comfort food and thats what you get. No frills place where the diners are the usual locals, laborers, occupants of nearby motels, clubgoers in early mornings and your retirees. In short, this is a no frills place where you dont expect gourmet dining. The scrambled eggs may be a little dry or the hashbrown overcooked, but who cares? Whats good about comfort food is not fretting about how perfectly cooked the meal but just having some neighborly chat over a cup of coffee mingling with the smell of familiar food from your childhood.

Great location close to the beaches and on a busy corner with good parking. But the food was kinda OK. I had the blackend salmon which was excellent but it came with cold mashed potatoes and overcooked vegetables that seemed to come out of a can. The club sandwich was very good and the chicken fettuccine was uninspired glop. Good service and never-ending coffee was a plus. With its location it could be so much more if they pared down the menu and focused on doing fewer dishes but doing them justice.

The coffee was meh & expensive for a lousy cup of dirty hot water; the soup was tasty but not a very big bowl at all for the price; the bathrooms were locked (like thats gonna keep somebody with an urgent need from using the floor as he waits for the key, hello?) and the cops showed up screeching outside in front having felt the need to jack up some scared pedestrian minding his own business walking home at 3 oclock in the morning.

Its not busy at all and weve been waiting over 30 minutes for our food when tables that were just seated are already being served! When the food finally came it wasnt even complete they for got the sides so we had to wait another 10 minutes for those. I would be a little more understanding if they were busy but since its dead I dont see a reason for service to be this slow.

Cant believe Im this old (born in the 50s) and have never been to a Norms before now. First experience, very good - far better than I expected. I had the Jalapeño /Habanero Burger. Very good. Its got some major kick. My Sweetie had the Patty Melt. She said it was excellent. Restaurant was very clean, staff was very helpful and friendly. Will be returning for sure.

Ate dinner here 2 days ago. They were able to accommodate us with 15 minutes notice. I had the Brussels sprout salad, filet mignon, truffle fries, and pink champagne ice cream. My companion had the seared tuna, asparagus, and port for desert. Service was lovely and relaxed. The truffle fries were some of the best Ive ever eaten. Parking is...

Loved going to this place. Till they got a rude security guard, asked me if I was going to be buying something! Says it with a attitude! The security guard should be fired. Too rude! Looks like this is the last of my service till that ladies gone! Dont come if the lady security guard is here shell ask if your going to buy food!

I have been a regular at this Norms for a while now. I love coming here because you can get lots of food for not very much money. Every server has been wonderful, but my favorite is Zack. Hes always nice, attentive, and remembers what you do and dont like. Just be wary of their parking lot, its well known for drug activity.

The service is generally excellent, the food is outstanding (Ive literally never had a bad dish here, no matter what you order), and you absolutely must not, can not, and should not under any circumstances miss the butter cake. Do not leave here without eating it. Im totally serious. I dont care how full you are.

A friend and I went for the fixe prix lunch during the holiday season, and I had very high expectations for the restaurant. I had heard rave reviews, but I was a bit disappointed with my meal. It was good, but it was not great. And, I was hoping for great. The soup was delicious.

Used to eat dinner at Norms 3 times a week at Norms on Crenshaw and El Segundo, when I worked swing shift in 1957. Got a yen for their Chef salad this afyernoon, so I drove over. Salad was excellent, cheap and the service was good. Very nostalgic.

Pork chop marinated for 2 days, cooked medium-well so as to not dry it out, makes for an amazing dinner! Also great breakfast. I especially like the thick and moist French Toast, and the homemade sausage patty. Coffee is average.
