Very average. Beans and rice were mild, not much seasonings. Beef taco, pan fried, was good. Chicken enchilada were not as expected, had dark meat, detected bone fragments. Portions were good size. $9 lunch price. No salsa bar. House salsa, kinda watery, had green onions in it. My preference is for more cilantro, no green onions. Flame roasted Mexican chilies would help make this meal taste better, didnt have that option. Not organic, felt digestive discomfort for two plus hours. Not sin grasa. Historic Old Town on corner. Over 5,000 SF, very large restaurant, many rooms. Buffalo on wall amazing. It was over 1,000#s, fourteen ft. hanging length., took seven rounds to bring it down, per Rudy. No doubt, rifle bullet caliber had to be .68 or bigger.

I was nearby for business and stopped there for lunch. I saw our waiter two times. I had to get up, look for him to ask for a 2nd drink (coke-refill). The tortillas were stale, it took one bite to know they were previously heated, reheated and then served to me. We were passed by and frankly, ignored by the staff as we attempted to get their attention On our way out, I approached the manager to express our disappointment; he was more concerned with knowing who our food server was than us returning and giving them a second chance. If youre ok with being served food previously served to someone else and being ignored... then this is your place. Needless to say : will not return.

They were so friendly to out of towers and u could tell they really liked there job also they had no problem when I had special request the cook made plate just for me and brought it to my table the waitress Maribel and hostess (not sure her name) were both very nice and acknowledged every person that came in and when they left the restaurant. The whole place (even bathrooms) was very clean, the neighborhood is very old hometown feel if I ever come back to Los Angeles/Monrovia area I will definitely come back to Rudys :)

We are a young family of five. We have gone to Rudys several times a month for the last ten years. We all love it! The best margaritas and sangria. Cold, cold beer. Great carnitas and burritos. Awesome chips and salsa. The service is always great and the food hot and fresh! The staff pays extra attention to the kids and the owner walks around greeting and monitoring the service all the time! Its a great family restaurant! We love RUDYS!!!!

Prior to 5 years ago before moving away, my family and I thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful food served here. We look forward to out next visit. The food is very special. The Monrovian plate with avocado and special sauces is uniquely super! My family history includes very fine Mexican cooking - Rudys is the best ever. The prices are very reasonable considering how superior the food, the kindness of waiters and family members there.

I discovered Rudys on my first trip into Monrovia, and Ive gone out of my way to go back many times since. Theyre waiting staff is polite and attentive, their food is delicious, the place is comfortable, and theyre located in a really nice area. Ive never once been disappointed in them over the course of six years. Anyone in the area or passing by should definitely give it a try. I assure you that youll visit them again soon after.

My husband and I just moved to the area a few months ago and have fallen in love with this restaurant! Its service is always EXCELLENT and the food is also well prepared, tastes AWESOME, and is decently priced. We have not been disappointed yet and dont expect we ever will be. The staff have a way of making each customer walk away feeling VIP. This will be one of our regular faves for as long as we live here!

This is my favorite local place for happy hour! Mon-Thur is the Rudys happy hour, and each day has a different theme for drink specials. There is also a free food bar from 4pm-7pm, and a delicious and inexpensive taco bar ($1.50 apiece) as well. The staff is always friendly and happy to see you! I feel like this is my very own Cheers Bar!

This was my first time here with my Trackgirl Mery and was hopping for a great experience and although the service is great the food left me... sigh should I dare say "flavor-less".. we both had the Chile Colorado dinner plate. The meat wasnt melt in your mouth, the beans and rice was very bland tasteless...

Authentic Mexican food, not Americanized with black pepper or sugar. Margaritas are delicious. The staff are attentive, helpful and friendly. The best pico degayo style salsa. Great selection of food dishes, very delicious, also. Outdoor seating available, in a quaint location.

Rudys has been my favorite choice for a great Mexican food experience for more than 10 years. Excellent Chips and Salsa (pico de gallo style), great food selection, and wonderful Cadillac Margaritas, Rudy and his family are excellent at making me always feel welcome.

Rudy and his family make you feel like family. The drinks are generous and youll take home leftovers. Makes for a great night out! Theres a Farmers Market on Fridays or a movie theater down the street. Lots to see within walking distance.

Good old style Mexican restaurant. The kind of place youd remember if you were a kid in the 1970s. Good quality food, decent service. There are no "wow, must have" items on the menu, just your typical selection of the basics.

This is by far my favorite Mexican joint in northern California. Its the only place Ive found in the last 3 years that compares to San Diego mexican food. The owner Lou is also a great guy!

One of my usual Happy Hour spots because the Happy Hour food is great! Authentic stuff. Tortilla/Taco lady is awesome! Youll def need cash in order to tip her (but not necessary).

Worth going on Cinco de Rudys . They have great deals on the 5th of every month. Salsa and Chips are fantastic. Some dishes lack the quality that would make this more of a 5* .

Terrible long wait. 3 cups of salsa 2 drinks and the waiter never took our order and the drinks (expensive $9each) were missing booze! We walked out. NEVER AGAIN!!!
