Im vegan; so I ordered the mixed vegetables and vegetable noodles dishes. The vegetables were cooked al dente--not overcooked nor undercooked. There were plenty of veggies with both dishes too. However, it was obvious the dishes were cooked for the bland European palate. The sauce for the veggies was water mixed with a bit of corn starch. They were not cooked with any of the typical Chinese ingredients such as ginger, garlic, sesame oil, white pepper, ... The sauce for the vegetable noodles was water with a bit of soy sauce. Again, it was very bland. I had to use the packages of soy sauce and hot mustard to liven up both dishes before eating them. Next time, I will ask them to add ginger and garlic when cooking both dishes, and if Im still not satisfied, I will go somewhere else.

My family and extended family and friends have been eating here for over 10 years. My husband and I recently moved to Seattle, and are still trying to find anything even close to being this good... The servers are all family - the food is fresh and freshly prepared just for you as you order it. Whoever said it wasnt good must be crazy! As far as VIP is concerned, OK for cheap sushi, but not good for Chinese food.

I rate my Chinese restuarants by the won ton soup. They have really thin won ton and they spice their meat so you can actually distinquish the meat flavor. Quite a simple rating, but theirs is the best I have had in the greater Sacto are so far. Another simple rating is the chicken fried rice which is flavorful and they give you alot. Oh, their lemon chicken is moise, sweet/sour and very good too!

I went in Sunday evening after I thought the Mothers Day rush was over. I was wrong. They stayed super busy the entire time I was there, telling me at the outset that it was going to be slow. To tide me over, they sent out the egg roll and other snack that normally comes with the meal so I wouldnt get hungry. They were gracious to everyone and, as usual, the food was great.

Been going here for 10 years... hands down the best chinese restaurant around. Very unique flavors, not like any other chinese restaurant Ive ever been to... and Chinese is my favorite so I try every Chinese restaurant I find. Great service, great prices at lunch time, unbeatable general chicken, egg rolls, soups, and more. GO!! You will not be disappointed

We are from the Bay Area, which has a lot of really good Chinese restaurants. So, we searched long and hard for a good chinese restaurant out here, and we finally found China City! Their food is excellent - not greasy, very flavorful with light sauces, etc. Gotta try their General Chicken, Sweet n Sour Chkn, and Lemon Chkn... the BEST!

The food, the "Seafood Delight" in particular, was quite good; the service a little brusque but perfectly satisfactory. I have no complaints, but this is not a restaurant I would gush about to my friends. Good, inexpensive Chinese food - uninspired decor, a little frayed at the edges.

This is a Cameron Park classic and for good reason. The food here is always great and expertly cooked, and and is always more than enough to eat. The lunch specials are where its at. The general chicken is usually what I get, but everything Ive ever had has been good.

China City is an excellent place to get Chinese food. Good service, and the food is usually always good. Ive been there a couple of times and only had one experience where the food was not up to par. Otherwise, its a great place to go with a nice atmosphere.
