We got to Buena Park a couple of times a year from Phoenix and try to enjoy all the good Asian food in the neighborhood. We found California Kitchen by accident as we were getting some frozen yogurt during lunch at the strip mall just next to Knotts. My wife is Malaysian and is very picky when it comes to curry and Naan. Sam the owner of California Kitchen was ready and gave us a number of samples before we came later for dinner and then the next day for lunch. The food is excellent and Sam is very friendly and personable. He obviously cares about his food, his customers, and his restaurant. It was a great dinning experience. The food is very good and quite affordable. For the same price as a crappy meal at McDonalds a few doors down you can get 2 or 3 fresh curries and some rice and Naan. I had the peas and potato and a chicken curry. My wife had the lamb curry. The food is really good. The service is really good. I highly recommend this place whether you are like us and need a nice lunch after some time at Knotts or if you are local. We cant wait to come back during our next trip.

This is a fantastic new restaurant in Buena Park. The food is amazing; Ive never had Indian food that is this good before! Its all great, but I would particularly recommend the tandoori chicken and chilli chicken. There is quite a bit a vegetarian and vegan dishes as well. Many of the dishes are made to order, so they can adjust the level of spiciness to your taste. The portions are large - I cant finish a 2 item combo for lunch. The staff is great as well. Ive been asking many questions about the food, and they are happy to answer. They really like to engage with the customers, which is nice.

The food is so good Ive eaten here twice in a span of a week! So flavorful and authentic my tastebuds couldnt even comprehend it at first. I havent had such good Indian food since I moved to Orange County. Also the customer service here is unlike anything Ive ever had at any restaurant considered "fast food". I would say it was amazing but that just isnt a good enough word to describe the level of hospitality my husband, mother, and I received. I didnt feel like I was in a food establishment I felt like I was eating at my friends family home.

Their tiki masla was beyond good! One of the best I ever had! I had my fair share of eating at different Indian fast food places, but this was the best. The staff was friendly and the owner was hilarious. The proportion was good as well. This place is AFFORDABLE TO GO EVERYDAY! other places cost like $60+ and you barely get any food. Their quality is amazon compared to other places! I love this spot, new fav spot for sure!

I went about a month ago with my brother, then I went back about a week ago expecting them to have no idea who I was. As soon as I walk in the door the owner greeted me with a huge smile and asked where my brother was!! First of all the service is FANTASTIC! The food is absolutely amazing!! I have found myself craving it more and more! I am willing to drive an hour, and I have, just to eat here!!

Great first meal from this new local outlet, good selection of dishes available and we were able to sample the food before buying. This was important as we have 2 young children that are still working on the spicy/heat level. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes on offer, portion size was fair for the price, we will certainly be back.

What can I say other than this place is a must try... A little place full of wonderful flavors that delight the pallet ... Once youve gone youll be hooked ... Not only is the food wonderful the owner, and his son are so welcoming ... They always greet you with a smile, and helpful suggestions that alone brings me back time after time. BRAVO! EXCELLENT PLACE.

We saw this restaurant on our way to Knotts Berry Farm. Stopped in on the way back to our hotel and ordered chicken biryani and chicken tikka. It was cooked fresh while we waited and so delicious! Spiced just right for our preference. Owners were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant!

The food is excellent and the price is very fair. I had the opportunity of meeting the owner and he was too nice.He even gave me dessert at no charge. I eat here at least 2x a week and I highly recommend this place if you like curry. and if youre not sure if you like curry, you must try.

The chef said all dishes start at low spice for the kids and will kick up the heat to order. Nothing frozen and all family recipe. This was a special experience because the owner was feeding the kids himself. You can trust this place for a great taste and experience.

I LOVED THE FOOD ! the ambiance is very nice, friendly and i loved the chicken tikka masala! We got to sample the food although it was busy but most people take out so it clears up fast. Its close to my house so this will be my spot!

Fantastic customer service, very accomodating to dietary preferences/restrictions! Even gave us free dessert and brought our food to the door. One visit is enough to know we will be back and we dont even live in California!
