I wasnt very impressed with the food at Nomad Tibetan. We opened with taro cake, which were the best part of the meal, but even these were only so-so. Very dense and starchy. It did come with mixed greens with a really nice mustard vinaigrette, that was probably the best part of the meal. Next, we had pork momos and beef momos, which were big, chunky and chewy. I had momos several times in other places, and these were my least favorite so far. Tasted almost like store-bought Chinese dumplings. The beef ones were ok, other than being a little bland. The pork momos tasted weird, almost fishy. The last dish was Lhasey hotpot, which was a kind of soup with clear broth, vegetables and meat (lamb). It was quite boring, and the meat was chewy. Maybe they have better dishes, but what we got was underwhelming.

This our first time at a Tibetan restaurant. We ordered the beef dumpling soup, veggie curry and some of those buns. Overall, good experience. I would like to try some of the other items on the menu. My beef dumpling soup had a delicious broth that I could slurp down on its own. The dumplings were meaty and tasty though one of them was a bit chewy (it comes with at least 8). Curry was spicy for me, but not too much. I have been working on my spice tolerance lately. I got the bun to dip into the broth/curry. It was pretty good at this. The buns are very doughy and soft. Ive never had anything like them and I would get them again. Thanks for the tasty lunch!

I just love Nomad. I eat there all there time. The Than Tuk Soup is now my comfort food, and the hot pot soup with Salmon is awesome. Havent ever had anything bad here. If you get the momos, order them fried - maybe slightly less healthy but so tasty. The people that run it are super nice, and the decor makes you feel like youre in another country. Everything Ive had there was delicious! And the prices are very low for everything. They give you lots of food. Only warning - if you get the butter tea, be prepared - its very.... buttery and salty. Worth trying once because its so interesting but I have yet to see someone finish one.

Stopped by here after a nice long hike to Alamere Falls in Point Reyes. The momos definitely hit the spot. I love that you can choose the types of fillings so you can try all the ones youd like. Also had some of the traditional noodle soups as well. Everything tasted delicious but since its my first experience I have no idea how authentic it was. I was pleased with the experience and was even offered the traditional Tibetan tea which tasted very unique and interesting. Give it a try! I have no idea why there are so many Tibetan/Nepal restaurants in the Berkeley area though, thatd be interesting to learn more about.

We walked in on a whim and will definitely be back. Im a meat-eater who feels deprived if theres not at least a little bacon sprinkled over my food, but my husband and I both ordered the mixed vegetables in brown ginger sauce and loved them. The serving size was enormous, the vegetables were nicely crisp-tender, and the sauce wasnt too sweet. At the lunch-menu price, it was the best deal in town. The restaurant was clean, bright, and airy. The restroom was clean but could do with a bit of updating and repair. Looking forward to our next visit to Nomad!

Went there for dinner on Saturday. It was pretty quiet... Tried the fried eggplant as appetizer and the momos, they were good, not fancy food by any means but satisfying. The whole menu is distinct from typical Indian fare so if you are looking for something different this will fit the bill. Service was really fast. The drinks list is minimal.

This is my favorite restaurant in the Bay Area. They make everything from scratch, and the staff is warm and friendly. Sometimes the cook sings in the kitchen. The food is delicious, and so is the Tibetan tea. The restaurant is one of the less expensive ones in the Bay Area, while the quality of the food and service is top quality.

This place is very under-appreciated. The unassuming staff make wonderful food from scratch. Thaen-Thuk is one of my favorites: a soup with beef and delightful hand-made noodles. Also I love the beef momos, which come with an amazing mint-chile sauce.

This place is amazing and is Solanos best kept secret. I almost dont want to write a review because I fear that if too many people know about it, I wont get a seat. Anyways, the food is awesome, the service is awesome. I LOVE this place.

I tried Tibetan food for the first time at Nomad and it was wonderful. The braised lamb shank was supremely delicious and the spinach/shiitake momo dumplings were tasty with the spicy dipping sauce. Service was pleasant.

We tried this last weekend, and it instantly made the list as one of our favorite places. We especially liked the dumplings (laphing, IIRC). Great food, reasonable prices, friendly service. Highly recommended.

Very traditional and leveled-up for Western comforts. The food is great and the environment feels calm. The decor is cute and reflects tibetan culture, architecture, and natural landscape. Well done!

This is my second visit to this place. The deep fried taro cakes were pretty good. The lhasey hotpot would be the one I will order again if I return. My husband liked to fish curry.

Tried a combo of the five different types of Momo. Liked the beef chicken and pork the best especially with the house made chili sauce.

The food was wonderful, but the Tibetan Tea may not be to a western palettes liking.
