Meat on a stick!! This was my first time to a Brazilian Churrascaria and it was an experience I really enjoyed, My favorites were the red wine steak and the pork sausage. Although I found the meats to not have allot of seasoning it wasnt something a little salt couldnt fix. I started off at the salad bar and there was a variety of Brazilian sides and salads as well as a hot appetizer section. The hot app choices were: white rice, black beans, a lasagna roll thing and a sort of Brazilian shepherds pie thing. Over all I would have liked to see a little more choices that would pair well with the meats. We were served Chicken and Pork Sausage for the first go around. next came the first verity of Sirloin, The meat was well cooked (Medium Rare) and juicy. After that came the Tri-tip which was equally juicy and well cooked. In fact all the meats were cooked perfectly. The Red Wine steak was the only one that was marinated and was my favorite of all. I was also served chicken drumsticks that were cooked on a skewer with the thinner part removed, so It was just the meaty part of the drum stick. They also brought out a round of chicken hearts which I passed on. I went at lunch time and it was not very busy at all. It was a fun experience but its not a place I feel I could take my wife to. She doesnt eat allot of meat and at $50.00 for dinner probably wouldnt be worth it. maybe for a lunch a t $30 each.....

Having eaten at numerous Brazilian steakhouses in a number of states, I found Espetus to be lacking for the price. For $50 I would have expected meat cooked properly, more fresh sides and a salad bar to remember. The "filet mignon" was actually the tenderloin side muscle and was cooked well without an ounce of red or pink in it. All the other beef cuts were 50/50 from medium well to well. The chicken sausages and drumsticks were delicious. The salad bar had some tasty treats but about half of it was pre-mixed stuff. Sides were refreshed upon request and the cheesy bread was delicious while the fried polenta was almost all over-cooked and had the flavor of old frying oil. My friend and I had the Brazilian limeade and while asked a few times if we wanted refills, were never told that the refills were not free. Water refills were prompt and we never felt unattended to. All in all it was a tasty meal but seemed more on par with a $35 Brazilian steakhouse than $50. I would go to Texas Roadhouse or Fogo de Chao in a heartbeat for the money and probably wouldnt go back to Espetus unless it was for a cheaper lunch.

Espetus Churrascaria has two locations, one in Downtown, the other in San Mateo. The San Mateo located is set up nicely - large dining room, including a full bar. Parking is also easy to find. My experience here was two-fold: on one hand, the meat served on a skewer tasted well, no complaints here. I liked the sirloin (you can choose which part the waiter cuts off, make it well-done or medium) and also the ribs were really good. On the other hand, the salad bar was a bit disappointing - only a handful of choices, I wasnt really tempted to stuff my plate with the offerings before the actual meat rolled in (I guess thats a good thing?). Also, they ran out of 4 different meats that evening (including the shrimp skewers), sadly that limited the otherwise solid experience. Too expensive for my taste - youll end up paying about $75 per person including a drink. With a better salad bar and the full meat menu Id probably be okay with it, otherwise - meh.

The Good - Friendly servers - Bomb awesome food; salad bar and meats - Extremely nice ambience - Clean bathrooms - Clean all around - Quick Service The Bad - Bathrooms could use a facelift The Ugly - None Admittedly this is my first Brazilian BBQ restaurant. But wow, hella good! Im hurting from being so full but I still want moooooooar! Even the BBQ pineapple is calling my name still. The ambience is very nice, elegant, and calming. I love the feeling and its relaxing to just sit and talk. All the servers were friendly and a pleasure to interact with. Always willing to fulfill a request (and we were a large group and they were still fulfilling all request). They have a large selection of wine, beer, and hard drinks. They even have some Brazilian beers in bottle, yes! What more can I say, I am more than down to come back again. Now wake me up from my food coma in 12 hrs.... Thanks!

Not a place to go if youre not a meat eater. I mean sure they have an awesome salad bar, but youre paying $60 per person and I dont know about you, but Im not paying that much for salad! The meat is the star of this place! Youre given a little red and green wheel when youre seated. You turn the wheel to green and it lets the servers know that you are ready for the non stop rotation of meats! They walk the restaurant with meat on spits and carve this fresh hot savory perfectly cooked meat. It ranges from chicken hearts, (dont let that gross you out, theyre actually good) to shrimp, prime rib, pork loin, and everything in between! Its all seasoned to perfection and every bite is like a little orgasm in your mouth! They have sides as well at a self serve bar, those are delicious too, but the MEAT IS THE STAR

Our friends had booked the banquet room well in advance. Contracts signed, easy peasy. We arrived about thirty minutes into the booked time, and found that Espetus had double booked the single banquet room. We were not offered any kind of support while we waited to see if the room could be cleared and reset for our party. After an hour of standing around and the manager yelling (yes, yelling) at one of our friends we left. The manager was so rude! He kept saying, "Do you even want to be served? You had better cooperate with me!" The hostess was on her first day, and at least she helped us call for some cabs to take us somewhere else. Happy that we did - the other place gave us the royal treatment. We used to dine at Espetus once a month or so. We will never return.

Came here for Valentines Day and server ruined it for us. Had to wait an hour+ (no biggie) so we got drinks from the bar. Server was miffed that we wouldnt order drinks through him. We just wanted water at that point. Later on he tried to upsell us on dessert. My fiancee and I decided to split one, again he seem annoyed that we only got 1 instead of 2. Then the kicker came when we signed off on the bill. Before we could even finish up with our conversation and leave he took the receipt booklet opened it to see what his tip was in front of us at the table and walked away. Not even a thank you. We left 20% in hopes he would tip out to the guys serving the meat. They were far more kind and a lot more helpful than he was. I wont be back and wont be recommending this place.
