Ive been going to this restaurant my whole life (and I mean whole life) and it has always been a staple with my family. Never top class but just good solid 3/5 American Chinese food. However, it has recently had a name change and although I was informed the menu had not changed it has. After eating here I got the worse headache Id had in a long time. Id eated here a few months back and did not have this problem at all. Wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but after having some left-overs and almost instantly developing the same symptoms Im curtain. It is clear they use MSG in thier food now which Im certain they had not in the past. It is sad to say goodbye but I wont be eating here again.

Royal Palace is an authentic, family-owned restaurant whose head chef has been cooking professionally for over 20 years. He is seriously such a baller and will make you the best Peking Duck youve ever had in Washington. Try to make a reservation in advance if you want to order the Peking Duck course. Theyll give it to you in 3 courses: first the wrap, then you can get the duck with rice or noodles, and then theyll make you the most delicious soup youll ever have. Apparently Chinese people go here and tell the owners "thank you for an authentic meal."

Pleasant and quick service at a good price, peaceful setting. We ordered the broccoli beef and the server asked what level of spice we would like. I have never been asked that before with broccoli beef. The kiddo was feeling adventurous and tried two stars. It was better than your average broccoli beef with the added flavor and it was already a high quality, well made dish.

I am not big on Chinese but we ordered take out. We got there and there were only two other small families waiting to be seated. 10 minutes in the lobby with no one coming to address our needs, I finally had to flag down a waiter as he walked by for the 5th time ignoring us, and our food had been ready the whole time. The food was good though - honey chicken was delicious.

Overpriced, dirty, and food isnt overall that great. Came here because my Dad loves reminiscing the days he came here in 1994 but regardless its not anything good. Food is meh couldve gone to Panda Express and gotten the same stuff for almost half the price, plates were a bit dirty I dipped my napkin in my water and wiped my plates.

The portions are insulting small, I am a trim and fit person it would take at least two adult dinner portions + a ton of rice to feed me. The atmosphere is cheesy and small. This is a hole in the wall trying to be a 4 star restaurant and falling miserably. Go elsewhere unless you feel like dropping 25$ for a snack.

Service is a bit slow from the server, but greeting and ordering was fast and easy. I got order Togo was told about 20 minutes before it would be ready I sat down to wait I tried to get a cup of tea , it took several attempts before the hostes got it for me

The food is quite excellent. My wife and I shared the garlic chicken wings which were the best chicken wings in either of us have ever had (bowl of 8). I had the basil chicken which was excellent and would happily order every time we go back.

great people working for this place. Lovely boss ( you can see he cares deeply for all employees) and overall funny employees. If you have a chance to eat dinner there you can meet the infamous Joey. Shes the main host and bar person.

Ive been here before when it was Chans and it was decent. Didnt realize it had changed until we arrived, but wow, was it delicious! The won ton and hot & sour soups were amazing and the General Tsos was superb.

Best Chinese restaurant Ive ever eaten at. If we ever order Chinese thats where we get it. I definitely recommend this place. Their sweet and sour is delicious and pretty much everything else is good as well.

Food is good, though they are definitely catering to the "old white people" demographic. (Chopsticks on request, mild seasoning, etc.) Ill be back though, the duck looked awesome.

The duck here is amazing and comparable to what I used to eat when I lived in Beijing. You come here for the food, not the décor. Service is friendly. Book ahead for duck.

Food almost inedible. Safeway deli takeout is much better. What a disappointment. After reading some good online reviews I wanted to give Chans Place a try. Big mistake!

Worst service ever!! Dirty plates. They dont refill your drinks, and when we wanted to leave all the employees were talking at a table ignoring us.

The food is delicious and worth the little extra price. I dont know if my favorite dish is the curry vegetables or the spicy string beans :D

The roast duck is really delicious here. For ten bucks more they can fry the bones and dark meat. Super tasty!
