Chaat Cafe is one of the few Indian restaurant chains in the Bay Area (The only other one I know is Tandoori Cafe), and theyre really good! Chaat Cafes specialize in cleaning up the Indian food experience--all the flavor, none of the gross utensils and bathrooms (believe me, Ive been to places where they reuse plastic forks). When we go, my family tends to order a Veggie Wrap, a couple of Papri Chaats and the Cholle Bhature (one of the best values for money). This definitely suffices for three people. My personal favorite is the Papri Chaat, and I find myself craving it every couple of weeks. Definitely worth a try!

Nice place. Im always hesitant to try out north Indian restaurants. Im from the south. But, to my surprise they had well cooked chicken curry like how i get in south. Awesome. The price is the cheapest for a quality indian food. Im here in US for 4 months and ill come here everyday. Im writing this review after visiting this place for the 4th time. Its a self service, so dont get confused. I like it how you can pre pay for food so you dont have to wait after eating. Good experience overall. Tip: they have red chilly powder kept on all the tables. If you want more spicy, yse them. I do it all the time

Food is average. Could visit again. The price is bit above average for the quantity. Dont try chicken biryani. It is simply mixed and cooked with chicken curry with few added nuts. Loved their lamb curry. It is satisfying, rich and tastes unique in its class. Great for college kids, family. Restauant is clean and well lit. Parking is a nighmare! Be prepared to get a parking spot if you in real luck! Should try and see how you like it. Wont be dissapointed.

Came here for the first time on a Saturday while visiting a friend and the place was empty. I would guess theyre busier on weekdays. You order and pay at the counter and they bring the food to your table. You help yourself with flatware and water from a station next to the ordering counter. Service was polite and food was good. Dining room was spacious, modern and clean. I would come again.

Masala fries is a hidden gem on the menu. Chole Batura was nicely favored. They can use some presentation skills to make the food look good. The taste is right on target. Stuffed naan was also awesome. Three stars because they jut werent cleaning tables after people were leaving, used plates and leftovers just sitting around and the place looks outdated.

The food was alright, but what upset me is the waitress. She literally yelled at me when I asked for some water by saying its self service. Then she went sitting on the next table checking her cellphone. Plus, all table were dirty and we waited for a few minutes until they cleaned one, and the restaurant wasnt busy at the time.

Probably the best Indian food Ive had in the US. Excellent Papri Chaat set us off, Butter Chicken dinner was pretty good, and Lamb Vindaloo had a magnificently tasty spicy sauce. Dinners came with naan, rice, a green bean curry which was good, and a tasty cup of tarka dal. Easily enough food for 3.

Went there once, their vegetarian thali had only one vegetable entree, instead of 4 entrees you get in vegetarian thali in South Bay (Sunnyvale, etc); food, tea etc also did not seem extremeley freshly-cooked and hot; customer service was not smiling or inviting; probably not going there again.

Awesome place! I had the chicken naan-wrap, which was very delicious and well spiced. The staff was friendly, and during lunchtime they do offer student discount for wraps (incl. drink for $6)!

The food was not so good. In fairness, the wait staff was quite accommodating in catering to a vegan dietary requirement. Probably wont return, but, this could be a decent spot for non vegans.

Ive eaten here a number of times and am never disappointed. My favorite is the Tandoor platter which offers a selection of grilled goodness. Get that with a vegetable of the day and a lassi.

The chicken Karahi is amazing, among other things. I like the broad selection of food they have here, and most of it is tasty. Also decently priced. One of my favorite lunch spots.
