I have to admit that while I scrolled through some of the reviews for Rooster Creek, I found myself nodding my head in agreement... some were spot-on. I will say that the service left much to be desired in the beginning, however the last two or three times I have visited, the staff and management (of which there seems to be quite a few) have seemed to hit their stride. The redhead bartender is really one of the stars on staff -- amazingly attentive and fantastic customer service when you sit in the bar. That being said... the last time we visited we actually had somewhere to be and came early to avoid the rush and give ourselves plenty of time. Forty-five minutes after ordering our food finally came, leaving us a luxurious fifteen minutes to eat, pay and scramble out. Not so much fun. But like the rest of the local reviewers, Ive been waiting for an alternative eating establishment in the Village. Aside from a well-worn Italian restaurant and some yummy appetizers and light menus we really were lacking a full restaurant that boasts a bar. So I will continue to give it another try, hoping that this well located eatery will finally hit its stride. The food you ask? I would honestly say that 75% of the menu that Ive tried so far has been delish and I would order again. My mom absolutely LOVED the crab cakes and would order again and again if they hadnt rotated them off the menu for another seasonal dish. She will look forward to their return in the Fall. I have really loved their Caprese salad -- delectable fresh Mozzarella chilled to perfection, crowned with fresh basil and drizzled with a syrupy balsamic -- all served with crispy crostini. My husband LOVES their fried chicken -- but be warned that it is only available at lunch. I would encourage them to think about a Fried Chicken Plate for dinner -- we would turn into regulars. I have loved their Portabello Sandwich -- tender and juicy. I would pass on the Mac and Cheese however -- it was watery and over-cooked with very little flavor for what is meant to be classic home-cooked Mac. Disappointing as it is usually a standby for me when I cant choose. The steak salad is also a winner and I would also recommend their house fries as they seem fresh-cut and are cooked to crispy perfection. I have to admit I am still searching for an artisan pizza I will repeat -- the Grilled Veggie - Goat Cheese - Roasted Garlic pizza had an overwhelming taste of Vinegar. Possibly the veggies had been marinated in Balsamic too long -- but it was acidic to the taste. And dont miss the Beef Carpaccio with Parmesan Cheese, Capers and Olive Oil -- a very well constructed dish with excellent presentation. As a result I will conclude with the promise that I do plan to return, as I think the owners, chef and staff have great intentions and a solid foundation. Maybe this Rooster just needs to take a cue from its namesakes in the Village -- find the service and dishes to really crow about and then they will quickly be on our regular Village rotation.

Went to Rooster Creek restaurant in the Village tonight hoping for a lovely meal. We ordered the Monday special of prime rib. My husband asked for french fries with his instead of mashed potatoes. Our salad was not chilled, the blue cheese was thin and watery and his fries were not cooked! They were slimy with grease, limp and raw inside. We sent them back only to be replaced with the exact same thing! Greasy, limp and raw. I called over the manager who was supremely uninterested only to be told he would "make a note of it". Bloody Hell. Nothing was deducted from the bill and I was left feeling that our business meant nothing to them. We will never go there again. Another thing, its really difficult to enjoy your meal while trying to fend off flies. And now I am feeling the after effects of all the MSG they dumped on the entire meal. On a positive note our server was very nice. I will be posting this on Yelp.

Food was okay, drinks were okay. Very pretty, but nothing to write home about. The waitress was busy talking to her friends sitting at the bar, when she came back with our beer she set it down on the furthest corner of the table away from us without a word and walked away. We settled our tab, and left quickly. This was our 2nd visit here, and first time trying the food. The first time we were there we just had chips and drinks, the Jalapeno Margarita they made for us was to die for! Which is why we went back. The place is nice, clean, and management seemed friendly. Hoping next time we go we will have a repeat success of our first visit!

Nice place to sit back and have a couple drinks or sit down and have a meal. The food is impeccable and the service is great. You get the small town feeling at this restaurant. They have indoor and outdoor seating, they have TVS inside for the sports fan and heaters if outside dinning when it gets chilli. This great restaurant is in the Arroyo Grande Village. Nice little area with a park close by and shops down the main street. And dont forget to see the roosters in the parking lot behind the restaurant. They do run wild and have been there for years. Just a little fun fact to know if you are new to the area.

Rooster Creek is our favorite place to eat in The Village. The food is good and the prices are very reasonable. They dont take reservations but do allow you to call ahead to let them know youre on your way. Our servers are always friendly and accommodating. We have two boys under 4 that can have a hard time sitting still and we never feel like were being judged or bothering anyone. It can get pretty crowded on the weekends and service can slow down a bit but thats to be expected. Overall we really like this place and well continue to eat here regularly.

Lets start with the good. The food here is wonderful. My party of 6 all had great, tasty meals. However the service was quite lacking. It started with the hostess, where 3 tables were sat in front of my party after they arrived later than us (they did not have reservations). My server didnt put in my drink order, I had to ask about it when my dinner showed up. Ill give the restaurant another shot because of the food, not the service.

Must stop if youre in Arroyo Grande or Pismo Beach area. First they welcomed us, despite we arrived very close to closing time. Second, the food... OMG. To die for. Shrimp ceviche, super fresh and savory. Filet tips, melt in your mouth. Rustic pizza with original flavors. The best was the sizzling chocolate chip cookie skillet with vanilla ice cream...

Highly Recommend the St. Luis Ribs, Chicken, Wood-Fired Pizza and Chocolate mousse!!! Very friendly attentive staff. Love all the TVs. The manager and chef even came out and introduced themselves. Fairly full house at 5pm on Mothers day and didnt have to wait for a table. My new favorite place in AG.

Ive heard other people complain about the meals they have had here, but Ive never experienced that. Their service was fast, friendly and attentive. Ive ordered salad, pizzas and appetizers here and have been pleased with all of them. I like their patio seating on a beautiful day in the village.
