This place is a hidden gem, though its not really hidden or unknown, but regardless it is still quite the gem! Myung Dongs most popular dishes are the Kalguksu and mandoo. The kalguksu is a big bowl of soup, noodles, veggies, some ground meat, and some dumplings. The soup is thick and starchy with a hearty flavor with house made noodles. Myung Dongs mandoo or Korean style steamed dumplings are quite good in their own right. Myung Dongs main treat, in my opinion, is their banchan of essentially two types of kimchi, a pungent garlic red kimchi and a more subtle but still strong white kimchi variety. We like to say their kimchi has a gasoline or kerosene aroma because of the heavy garlic and spices in there, but how good it tastes, arguably one of the best kimchi side dishes around. Myung Dong is decently sized inside with plenty of tables for groups or larger parties. Myung Dong is a very traditional Korean restaurant and though it has gained in popularity over the years it has maintained the quality that weve been enjoying all this time.

This is one of my favorite places to eat "Kal Gook Soo". Its a traditional Korean dish made of flour noodles in a hot soup. It also comes with mini dumplings "mandoo" as well. It has a very "homemade" quality taste which really makes me appreciate this particular restaurant. To me the white kimchi was very whatever... but that red kimchi is so DANK. (You will have to chew some gum if youre planning on meeting someone after because of the garlic.) But it is SOOOO good to eat together with the main dish. I wish I could just take a giant container of their kimchi everytime I eat here.

We are visiting from out of town. While in Anaheim, we used Yelp to locate this 4.5 star rated restaurant. We were very disappointed with what we found. The service was poor (waiter didnt give us plates for our pajeon and didnt fill out tea cups when it was empty). The Korean condiments given was practically nothing. I wouldnt recommend this establishment atall as there are plenty of great Korean restaurants in Amaheim. Just not this one. You will be highly disappointed.

Loving this new Korean restaurant! The food is authentic and the owner/chef are actually Korean. The interior decor is really hip and the staff is friendly. Aside from the traditional Korean dishes, they also have some interesting items like tacos and sandwiches. Im happy to see that someone is innovating in the restaurant business. Theres metered parking on the street but if you want to save some money you can park in the residential zone behind.

Good thing about this place is that my kids eat free (kindergarten and under) AND I get to order "sari" (extra bowl) of whatever noodle I ordered. Their kalgooksoo is chicken stock soup and pretty good with their Kimchi. Kong gooksoo is very good. Bibim naengmyun, jjolmyun, dongchimi gooksoo are all very fresh and good. Their naengmyun uses chlorella noodles which is more chewy in my opinion. Very kid friendly food and the service is great!

The calgooksoo noodle soup and dumplings are the best items on the menu. Use their sauce with the noodles. This restaurant is well known among Koreans for their calgooksoo.
