Came here with a party of 4 for a friends birthday dinner on a busy Saturday night. It was crowded and we had to wait about an hour and a half to be seated (which was expected and well worth the wait). Typical pricing for Korean BBQ dinner $24-32 depending on which types of meat cuts your party prefers. Keep in mind that all dinner guests must order the same dinner plan; either the regular dinner for $24 or the premium dinner for $32. * Atmosphere: The atmosphere is very fun, energetic, and lively. It is brightly lit with several flat screen TVs usually playing sports games, and current popular music playing at a reasonable volume. The grills are well spaced out and ventilated, offering a pleasant dining experience. * Service: The service here is amazing. Despite the place being packed, the servers made sure we were well taken care of. They constantly changed out our grill without being asked, and made sure we had plenty of water and that our drinks never ran out. * Food quality: The food was delicious! I have been to several Korean BBQs in multiple cities, and this restaurant has, by far, the best selection of quality meat. Everything is well seasoned, and they offer great dipping sauces for extra flavor and spice. Soon after you sit down, they bring out an array of side dishes that perfectly complement the meat, rounding out the dinner nicely. * Special Occasion: the great thing about this restaurant is the effort they put into making birthday celebrations special. Once you provide proof of your birthday (I.D. card) to your waiter, they make sure to dress up your included ice cream dessert with a candle and trimmings. When they bring out the ice cream at the end of the meal, they blast the "happy birthday" song while dancing your ice cream to the table brandishing strobing LED glowsticks. When that song ends, They hand a glow stick to the birthday person and make them stand up and have a dance session while blasting a random popular song for a few seconds. ---Since this is such a fun tradition, many people celebrate their birthdays here, so be prepared for lots of random loud birthday songs and cheering, all in good fun.--- * Verdict: this is a great place to celebrate and have fun. The food is delcious, the service is great, and the atmosphere is energetic and casual. It does get busy during peak hours, but it is well worth the wait. I definitely recommend.

Great place for all you can eat Korean BBQ. Since in Minnesota we just started 2 places with AYCE it definitely doesnt compare to Mr. BBQ. Ive come here every time Ive been out to California. For those new to this location they are really. You will wait and you will wait for a while especially for larger groups. Both times we had come on a week day and needed to wait around 1 hour. So get there early and just check in. The interesting thing is they also own the bar in the back called The Back Room for those who are 21 plus. Great selection and fun place to hang out before dinner. Their choices for all you can eat vary in prices. We had chosen the less expensive all you can eat. Since it the only varying difference with the pricier one is just a few items. Not worth it for the entire group. The sides were just as amazing. Since we had a larger group. The gratuity was included. Atmosphere: 5 (Great friendly environment, not too loud but youd get it with 100 people packed in a room. The steam tables and all the birthdays happening. Recently they changed their birthday rules which made sense. That birthday celebrations are for those who have it within the week.) Food Quality: 5 (Amazing. Fresh, well spiced, and the selection is huge.) Service: 3 (The first time was great, put this past visit our server just seemed like he didnt want to be there. Judging on that it made it uncomfortable for us to feel like we were "inconveniencing," him to get us more food.) Cleanliness: 4 (Overall the tables were clean. But the entry and the restrooms definitely needed some more upkeep every hour.) Cost around $300 for 9 of us. Stars 4.25. Will be back, hopefully they keep up their standards. Especially if were waiting over an hour for it! Try it. Oh and no reservations.

Pros: Good meat selections and flavors. Cons: Parking, Wait time, super loud all the time, bland soups, sides, and salad. I get it. The place is busy. They have a good selection of meats, its really close to Cal State Fullerton, and they have a party vibe there. However, that does not excuse THIS particular server on THIS particular day to to give us SUBPAR service. Well, it even subpar, it was avoidance. At first I gave the server the benefit of the doubt. Although, when I, my wife witnessed, brother, sister and sister in law witnessed the server being cheery with other tables then there is a problem. If we have to flag down multiple servers to place an order for a soda, for extra meat or for extra sides then there is a problem. As I mentioned earlier, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Yes the servers here are all busy, but if multiple servers have to pick up the slack, ask for help, BE COURTEOUS, and let us know. Then there wouldnt be a problem. PROBLEM SOLVED! So, if youre willing to wait on average 45-90 for a table, like screaming at each other for conversation, hearing a "birthday song" every 10 minutes then this joint is for you! On the plus side though like I said before, they do have good meat. As for myself, I dont think I will be returning here.

After reading a discerning friends review, I figured this would be a pretty good joint for me to meet up with my kbbq-loving friend for dinner. Its not all brand spanking new like the Gen bbq joints that have been popping up but everywhere its still pretty new and clean. We got there right around 6pm so didnt have to wait for a table, thank goodness. We got the basic AYCE dinner as we definitely didnt need the fancier (and weirder) meats. My friend eats basically just brisket, bulgogi and rice, so I had to eat all the banchan by myself, lol. Speaking of which, I was impressed by the banchans variety and quality. The chap chae was actually really good, and I loved all the various kimchees and salads and whatnot. The meat quality was really good too, but the real star for me was the service: we didnt have to flag anyone down to get anything--they were checking in on us constantly and were very friendly, besides. My only beef (haha) with this place was the noise factor. Its a popular joint and gets packed, I get that, but on top of that its kpop going at full volume the whole time and it just kind of wore on me (Im old, sue me). Aside from that, its an exceptional AYCE joint. If you get there early and dont mind loud kpop, you wont be disappointed.

i cant quite comprehend how mr. bbq is able to go from 5 stars to 1 star in a little more than a year but it did... here is why: steamed egg: bland chadol: bland mr. bbq: bland pork belly: bland everything we ate: bland yes, everything we ate were severely underseasoned. granted, i much prefer a low sodium diet but seriously? everything was saltless! i had to douse every protein in the sesame oil salt to give it flavor. service was also not what i remembered. it was extremely passive. and not to mention the "birthday" show is just beyond awkward because the employees lack enthusiasm and theyre waving around glow sticks and blowing horns only because thats a job requirement. and did i mention the temperature inside the restaurant was almost as hot as a bikram studio? i dont know how many bottles of iced waters we drank, but because it was just that hot in the restaurant we were meat sweating down our balls and dying. anyways, it was utterly disappointing and i am officially breaking up with mr. bbq. wont be driving out to fullerton to see you again, long distance just isnt convenient anyways. peace.
