Even since I saw my friends post about this place, Ive been wanted to try their beef rib plate. The plate was about $10 and got the typical rice and macaroni salad as sides. I didnt expect much and probably thinking good 2 pieces of ribs may come out. I was in for a surprise after realizing how big their portions were. They were generous with the quantity. Each piece has that perfectly charred from grilling that sweet bbq sauce. The meats were so tender and it falls off the bone. I might say, their beef ribs were even better than one I had in San Diegos famous Phils BBQ. I am tempted to try other items on their menu but then I am not sure I can resist their beef rib after this.

Oh my god BLESS this hole in the wall. Ive been going to some other Hawaiian BBQ shop but this place blew my mind. The first time I ordered Togo, I got "Sams plate" which is a hefty load of short ribs with two scoops of rice and your choice of Mac or green salad. Lovely. Its a bit pricey for at least $10 per person, but well worth it. The ribs are tender and fall right off the bone. The Mac salad is refreshing, but the rice is a bit too sticky for my taste. The sauce they provide at the counter is more of a glaze than anything. Nevertheless, if youre from the area, this place is a major go.

I tried the famous Beef Ribs and only the two bones on top had decent amount of meat. The bones on the bottom didnt have much quality meat. Some fatty parts of the ribs were good but there were too many burnt parts and hard overcooked parts. It didnt quite live up to the hype for me. The ribs came with rice and macaroni salad which was okay. Not sure why they give you so much rice. Next time, I would ask for two scoops of macaroni salad and one scoop of rice instead.

Great food!!! I got the #1 and was super happy with it. The rice is super good. The green salad had a dressing that tasted a bit sweet, but overall still good. The wait is long because they cook the food fresh. If you dont want to wait just phone in your order and they will have it ready in 15 min. If you have leftovers like we did, they keep very well and are just as delicious the next day. I wish they would open earlier.

Looking for that soft delicious pile of ribs to eat on a rainy day or with a group of friends? This is definitely one of my favorite spots to go to share with close friends, service is friendly and the family that owns it are all awesome. Their main dish that theyre known for is #1 which are Ribs thatll taste so good and the meat comes right off the bone! You wont be disappointed.

My favorite Hawaiian bbq restaurant hands down. The people are always nice and the food is always good. Ive tried everything and one thing that I must have everytime I go is the Mac salad. That with the beef and the sauce make a great meal. Really good for the price because its filling and delicious. Ive introduced so many people to this place and not a single one has disliked it.

Wait is long. Chicken is cold and dry. Not worth the wait. A little disappointed. I expected fresh bbq but tasted like left over chicken. Also couldnt believe they served me cold food after waiting 25 min. Ppl get the short ribs. Guess I should have tried that 1st... But I wanted chicken... This sucks. Now I gotta go to Mcdonalds because Im hungry.

Whoa! Check this place out! If you like L&L, youll love this place. They have a modest menu with authentic tasting food. They pack their plates with plenty of rice, macaroni salad and your choice of meat. I got the short rib and they hit it out of the park. Not only was the serving more than L&L, it was better tasting and filling. Check this place out!

I first posted a review of Matiki years ago... Ive since changed my view, dramatically! This is definitely my "go to" place for great island BBQ. MY favorite is the beef short ribs, of course the macaroni salad (with potatoes, of course) is a close second! I cant wait to go back and get some more!!

Ok woah I didnt even know this kind of BBQ existed! Its awesome- you get a ton of meat and rice for every order- easily enough to have another meal later on. The meat tastes really authentic and not cheap too. Great place, high recommend for something a bit different but beware the wait time!

This is Probobly the best barbecue place Ive ever tasted! Its meat is healthy and is cooked with no oil simple plates and just delicious. Not only the food real tasty but the customers service are really really friendly around here, I think its worth a try for everyone to come.

I have been coming to this place for about 15 years, it is my go to place for kalbi and have yet to find a comparable place. I have since moved out of state and cannot find a place that even comes close. Every time I come home to visit, I come right back to Matiki.

The envirorment overall did not feel well maintained nor kept up. Just as i was going to take a drink from my fountain drink i found a cockeroach in it. I can tell the difference between grilled and burnt and it was more on the burnt side.

Definitely got my Hawaiian Barbecue fix here. They were a little slow and it was a little chaotic, but it all got figured out and the food more than made up for it. Had a little bit of everything and really loved it all.

Great food, great amount for the price! Get there or order early, it can get busy and parking is smaller than average. Do order ribs or kalbi, the regular meats are just ok. Its a must-go!
