We have dined at the Newport-Naples Rib company (Long Beach location) a number of times. The food, service and environment there (Long Beach) are outstanding. The Costa Mesa location is a different, sadder story. We went on a not very busy night. The receptionist was great. After being seated, we noticed the tables are worn and sticky. The place needs overall cleanup. We talked a while and waited for a server for MORE than 10 minutes. The waitress covering our area, talked to her friends while we waited and waited. For her it was more important to talk about a new car, show off the fist size tattoo on her arm than to take an order. Only after the couple got up to leave did she bother to visit our table. I told her I was annoyed at waiting for her. No apology, nothing, she left. We spoke with the manager, gave him the situation. I told him their service was non-existent and asked him to speak with the waitress; I suspect nothing will be done. The Costa Mesa location is closer to us than the Long Beach location. I will not go to Newport Rib Company, CM again. There is a bright side - we had a great experience at Karl Strauss at South Coast Plaza!

All of the locals go to Newport Rib Company, and for good reason - the food is exceptional, and the service is always excellent. There is a lot of seating but I would recommend getting recommendations anyway just to be sure, as the wait might be a little long on the weekends. There is also a full bar where you can watch the games with a group of friends. The only downside to this place is occasionally a neighbor will get a bit rowdy - but if you ask the staff to say something that will usually fix the problem. Parking may be limited - you might have to park in the next lot over instead of their own lot, but Ive only had to do this once in the many times Ive been here. Servings sizes are HUGE - you could split most plates if you dont usually eat a lot. Prices are appropriate for the type of food they serve.

If I could give it less than one star, I would. I went for a birthday party and the food was delicious and our server was amazing. But... A group of teenage girls walked in around the time we were ordering and they sat down and began to eat and chat. Our table felt extremely uncomfortable due to the fact they continuously gave us dirty looks. Then one of the girls randomly got up and went to the kitchen for a pitcher of water and brought it straight to our table to serve us. She then went and continued to eat with her friends. Turns out the group of girls are the restaurants hostesses. On top of all this, one of the girls was acting very aggressive. This is the type of uncomfortable situation that makes us not want to go again. Very disappointed.

The restaurant is easy to find with a large sign out front. There is ample parking in the rear. It was our first time there and we were disappointed. We called ahead for take out. The tri tip sandwich had a large portion of meat but was so tough we had to take the meat from the bun and cut it with a steak knife. The basket of ribs (we ordered 1/2 & 1/2) were tough and flavorless except for the bbq sauce. The meat definitely did not fall off the bones. We were ready for mouth watering ribs and were really disappointed. The restaurant is clean. The service was excellent for our take out. There are several TVs in the restaurant and the bar seemed to be the focal point. We might go back to try the pulled pork, but probably not.

I go here very often, however on my husbands birthday I was supposed to get an email for 20$ off and didnt receive it. Then when I went to place his birthday order anyway, they wouldnt give me our weekend special by phone. My husband is on bed rest from surgery and cant even get our usual weekend lunch! So needless to say- we wont take friends and family there anymore! the girls there are rude, and even when we did dine in, they have extremely poor service and all seem to hate their jobs. If I could give zero stars I would!

We found this specialty restaurant on the day we visited the Orange County Fair. The food is good and the drinks were also good. The servings were generous so we had some to take home with us. I thought the service was even better than the food and drinks. I really enjoy good service so all in all we had a very good time.. [CATERING REVIEW] We ordered the "Catering BBQ Feast" that comes with: Cornbread and honey butter - Was a bit dry. Barbeque Sliced Beef Brisket - A little too saucy for me which dampened my interest Barbeque Bone-In Chicken - My favorite of the bunch! Really juicy! Coleslaw - Typical. At least it wasnt watery (which I despise) Macaroni & Cheese - Ehhhhh. If you cater, get the chicken!

I got the rib sampler dinner for myself and I must say, it could have fed another 1 maybe 2 people. There was SO MUCH food. I definitely recommend splitting the combos. The ribs were excellent(5/5), all 3 of them. The mac and cheese was good(3.5/5), not great. The baked potato was pretty good 4/5. Beans are very good(4/5). I really enjoyed the extra bbq sauce(5/5) on the side too.

We had a large family dinner in a private dining room. The starters were family buffet style. The raw beef on wasabi mash potatoes was outstanding as were the bread baskets. Calamari was another favorite. 12oz filet was a perfect medium rare and with fries made an outstanding meal. Butter cake was brilliant. An outstanding meal with perfect service.

the food was cooked and it was barbecue. I give it 4 stars because of service. I made the mistake of ordering the trio and getting all pork. I recommend splitting the trio with a date. getting a beef pork and chicken. I chose all pork and it didnt differ that much. it was a good experience.

Its a great friendly place. The food is good, I really enjoyed their sliders. Not really a place to visit if you are on a diet ! Since eating there we have also ordered their take out. They do a piggy pack that is just great for parties. Update, August 2017...still great!

This is my first time here and I ordered off the lunch menu, it was really nice. The ribs were excellent and very tender. It looks like the dinner menu is a lot more extensive and Im looking forward to trying that out soon. The service was great. I would highly recommend.

Excellent ribs, and very good service. The portion size is great and they do a great job treating you well if you tell them about your special occasion. Really good coupons, too, for your birthday and anniversary via email. We always go home with leftovers.

Excellent food and service. Nice comfortable atmosphere. Not to loud not to quiet. I had the hot wings beef ribs and tri tip. Hot wings are not too hot. Tri tip is awesome tender. Beef ribs are ok. They were a little wet and tender for me.
