Let me start by saying that I grew up on Pollo Loco as a kid here in Tucson so this makes it even more depressingly painful to write this review. I want to support local restaurants as much as I can but Im not going to get sick doing it if I can help it. When Pollo Loco came back to Tucson, I was very happy. I tried it and it was still good, not as good as when I was a kid but still a good option for food. Nine months ago, I went and it was terrible. I have gone a couple times since and still the chicken was dry, the sides were meh and the salad I like to put on my tacos hasnt ever been very fresh. My fault for returning but today takes the cake. I ordered half a chicken, a salad and black beans. Chicken was drier than the desert we live in. I call and say, "hey, I ordered food, blah blah, it was dry..." the guy says okay Ill replace your food, hold on a minute. 10 minutes later, still on hold. I am eating my dry af chicken as I cant go back atm with my 3 month old baby, and I open some salsa and put in on my taco and eat it. I smell something bad as I start to eat it and realize, after smelling it, that it is rancid and smells like rotten trash. Great thing for a breastfeeding mother to eat, right? I spit it out and threw the rest away, hung up, tired to call back, phone is off the hook still 45 min later. I was a little upset, now Im disgusted on so many levels. I want my money, time and possible health back. Never again.

Ive been coming here for a while and I enjoy my meals - usually what I describe below: Decent salad, I asked to have all the dairy parts and corn left out and that happened, a couple of chewy bits in chicken but nice grilled chicken flavor - nice wholesome salad. Also had a small Chicken Taco Al Carbon (grilled chicken taco) that was very tasty.

Food is really delicious, affordable (like a really good price) and service is fast. The salsa bar is good in size and the options are good. Most salsas are delicious. I love their classic salad bowls and chicken avocado burrito. They still have the same problem that most other restaurant have - spoiled mild salsa.

About 12 trip dine-in about five of them have sucked the freshly made salsa was really rotten one day and today absolutely everything we got sucked wife and kids agree even down to the salad which was wilted.The pico de Gallo was old,there was no avacado in the avacado burrito. It is hit and miss not consistent.

They discriminate against white people. They treat my hispanic wife completely different than they do me. They offer her special deals, with or without coupons, give her extra food, drinks, deserts.. I try to swap out breast and wing and get shut down. They wont get my business.

I have been to this location several times. Janelly(I hope I spelled her name correctly) works at the drive-thru on Fridays, she is very nice and polite, always greets us with a smile, great food and customer service. We need more people like Janelly at other places :-)

they need to learn how to speak English and not mumble. the guy i talked to had such a hard to understand Mexican accent i gave up. the guy is an idiot if he cant speak English properly im never going to deal with them again they get 1 star only cause i have to

First time I went they were out of chicken. Tonight, I waited about ten minutes at the drive thru, when I got to the window the guy said my order just randomly disappeared and he needed to take it again. Never going back. Disgraceful and unprofessional.

I have eaten at El Pollo Loco locations all over Cali from San Jose to San Diego and all points in between. Consistently has fresh food served hot and certainly with more than acceptable service. I just wish there were more locations in Tucson.

I have always had a good experience with them. When they made a mistake, they immediately corrected it. Yes, they do sometimes overcook a piece of chicken and its gross, but overall its way better than taco bell. Physically and palpably.

Cant rate this lower than 1 star. I would have loved to review the chicken if someone would have actually waited on me. Just an acknowledgement that I was even standing at the counter would have caused me to stay. 8/8/2017. 11:50 AM.

Chicken is tasty when you finally get a good piece. First order was burnt black and just gross. A second go around chicken was amazing. Love the spice and grilled flavor little pricy for what you get.

Very slow service they gave precedence to drive thru orders. Shorted us a side of chips and my wife was ignored at the counter for five minutes before she was able to get them.
