I stopped into Brushfire along the way on my 48 state motorcycle BBQ tour. In most of the BBQ restaurants I have visited on this trip the flavor and ambiance reflect the local taste. Brushfire is no exception, with everything from the decor to the homemade BBQ sauces reflecting the feel and flavor of the southwest. The dry rub they use on their brisket and ribs gives it that special southwestkick that makes their BBQ so uniquely flavorfull. My preferences in smoke usually fall into the Apple or Cherry wood arena but that would not be in keeping with regional flavors. Rather, Brushfire uses a combination of Mesquite and Pecan wood that gives their smoke an earthy quality that lends itself well to the brisket, if not the ribs. The ribs were firm yet moist, although they were, in my opinion, the only true exception to the otherwise 5 star meal. The muted flavor imparted by the Mesquites mild smoke left the ribs a little off on their flavor. One final niggle was from the use of plastic utensils. Cutting the ribs off the rack with a plastic knife was akin to trying to saw through a log with a blunt screwdriver. Overall, excellent food, average prices and an excellent representation of the south wests take on this all American food.

Portions are very small for the price. Got the brisket and pork combo and the amount of meat given was seriously what you would cut off to let someone sample at a BBQ, hardly anything at all. Im not kidding when I say four bites of each meat. Wasnt even enough meat to have a bite with each of the different BBQ sauces they have on the table. Got the Deviled Egg Potato Salad as a side and the first couple bites I though "This stuff is really cold." After a couple more bites a got some potato that was either starting to freeze or in the middle of thawing out. I could feel the crunch of the ice crystals. The Cinnamon Tea was awesome as always. Doubt Ill be back anytime soon, if ever. Definitely not worth the $12.99 per combo for the portions we got. The guy at the table next to us got the nachos, and the amount of food he had looks like a much better value than the meat we order.

If youre looking for great to-go (and I stress "to-go") BBQ and sauces, and if you have in upwards of fifteen minutes to wait for your order to be prepared, then Brushfire is the BBQ joint for you! The BBQ and sauces whipped up by Brushfire are outstanding, but with the exception of its vinegar slaw, the majority of its sides leave much to the imagination. Also, the service is hit-or-miss, as orders are often not fulfilled correctly (wrong sides, wrong sauces, etc.), the wait time is unpredictable (suggest planning on 15 minutes at a minimum), and the seating within the restaurant is limited/basic.

Had dinner last night for the first time at BushFires. Well it was not spectacular but the sauces were tasty and the hot & sticky ribs were good I had a side of green beans cooked to perfection and Mac & cheese you could tell it had good flavor but was a little old for me. The Kicker was what they call brisket STAY AWAY! unless you like an old smoked cow. Defiantly not brisket tasted very dry no matter how much sauce. The sad part was when I asked the gentlemen behind the counter about it and relayed my dissatisfaction they could care less, so that rights them off in my book for a no-return.

Delicious BBQ! I recommend splitting the family meal to keep the price more reasonable. In typical Arizona fashion the barbecue has a bit of a Mexican/chipotle twist compared to what youd get in the east. If you eat in there are 6 house sauces to try. This is an order at the desk place. No waitresses. Take out is available. Expect to pay $13-18 for your meal (sans drink) or $40-50 for a 4 person meal depending on your meat choice. They have house red all for $4 a glass as well. A $4 person meal split 3 ways left enough leftovers for a small meal later each.

I love the food here, they wait for to go isnt that long. I may have sat in a few time and they see you right away. The wait for seating isnt usually too bad. Though you can get lost in the crowd since it is seat yourself. Ordering at the counter than listening for your name to be called in a game of Marco Polo is fun til you get hangry. I just except it and see if they get my name right. They never usually do, but thats because it sounds similar to another name. Roxanne sometimes becomes Sam. No idea how. Im lucky when they say Roman or Rosanne though

My daughter and I stopped in for the TOO Much for Tuesday event last week and fully enjoyed our meal. We had a ton of food which lead to a lot of left overs for the week. The food was great. The service was a little slow for only a couple of people in the place. We were surprised to see they had ice cream there too - not as much as their east side location, but a good selection. Not much parking in front, but there is plenty of parking in the rear. Also, it would be nice if there was TV in the non-drinking section.

Lets face it, Tucson is known for Sonora hot dog and may not be known for BBQ, and rightly so. However, Brushfire can at least claim best in Tucson. The meat is always tender. Generous portions. Superb customer service. Surprisingly diverse selection. We decided to chill on last Thanksgiving and order a turducken for Thanksgiving? The sauces was so wonderful, especially because they are all spicy and tasty. The sides are terrific for entire family and two guests. Great place to grab a sandwich or have dinner.

Brushfire has some of the best bbq in tucson hands down, but I will never eat at brushfire again. They have some of the worst service and rude staff. They also have horrible delivery service. Whether I order my food in the store or for delivery, they always seem to get it wrong. Their side dishes are some of the worst in town. Their corn is burnt, their macaroni tastes like mush, their fries are amazing, but their corn bread is not edible, and their potato salad is not great.

On 11/22/16 we went to the Campbell location and picked up chicken, sticky ribs, and chicken along with sides for our Thanksgiving this year. We could not eat the ribs, they were so tough we couldnt begin to pull the meat off. On Friday the day after Thanksgiving we took what was still intake and talked to the Manager and once he took a look and could tell the ribs were under cooked. The manager went above and beyond to fix our order and we will definitely be back.

After living in Missouri and enjoying the BBQ for four years, I was hoping to find a place that could come close to what I was missing. Sadly, this is not it. The food is not bad, but is not good BBQ (I am talking specifically about pulled pork sandwiches). If the price was lower, I could overlook the lower quality, but for the price, I expect a good BBQ sandwich. We now have a Shanes Rib Shack, which is much better. Skip Brushfire and go to Shanes.
