This place is overpriced and over-hyped. Ill start with the positive, which is that it doesnt seem like anything has been frozen. At least it definitely didnt taste frozen. Then again, there was hardly any taste to it at all. I got the katsu chicken and my husband got the barbecue chicken. The meat was mostly black, it was weird and there was no way I was going to eat it. The parts that werent black were okay, but youre supposed to dip katsu chicken in sauce - the sauce being only somewhat flavorful. The BBQ chicken was okay. They used 2 scoops of what looks like white rice. It is thick and bland. I mean, white rice is usually somewhat bland, but this was to a level I didnt think was possible. Then there was a scoop of macaroni salad. I *hate* macaroni salad, but it was the tastiest thing on my plate. To top it off, getting the food took awhile. They werent busy, but we were sitting there for maybe 15 minutes. Which would be okay if the food was good. I cant *believe* so many people like this place. Not recommended.

reading the reviews on here I thought it would be worth a try. My wife and I went for lunch and got sandwiches. I got the bbq beef, she got the bbq chicken. The bread was just standard store-bought hamburger buns - the size of the sandwich was about the size of a dollar menu burger at wendys/mcdonalds/bk. The chicken was moderatly moist/tender, but the beef was suprisingly dry. The bbq sauce they use is pretty good, i would liken it more to teriyaki sauce. If anyone has been to the east-coast japanese chain teriyaki boy, I would say this is a saltier version of their teriyaki sauce. And then the sandwiches were over $3 each... for a little dollar-menu-sized sandwich. The french fries there are the standard accordion-like fries you buy in the freezer section at the store, pretty disappointing. I cant speak for their dinner menu/entrees, but the sandwiches were subpar and overpriced.

I went to the restaurant in 6/11/16 and the cashier( who was a man)was really lost, he didnt know about how to use the cash register, we were waiting for a long time for the cashier to take our order and the restaurant it wasnt busy, the cashier this guy was talking on the phone and watching tv, we were waiting for a long time, this restaurant have bad customer service starting with the cashier, the only person who helped us to have our order as soon as possible was the cooker (who was the only girl working that day) and her food was good, I had been in the restaurant many times before and always when she cooks the food taste very good, she was the only person to try to help us, the cashier( this man) needs to learn about customer service and he was all the time on the phone, Also this guy give us the order wrong, because He put our sides in the bag of other customers.

Even in Hawaii ( I moved from there to here and I knew all the best plate lunches to get food) L and L wasnt more than 6-7 $ in Hawaii so if its more than that here Theyre ripping everyone off. Also, this ISNT Hawaiian food. its asian bbq. Idk why they even claim it is because in Hawaii it is regarded as the mcdonalds of plate lunch places. WAY better places there to eat but here it should be the equivalent of Zippies I would reccomend passing and making it at home since it is ALL easy. BUT if you want an idea of how SOME misc asians do plate lunches (not hawaiian) this would be a place to see. FYI their katsu is cutlet not even katsu

I came in to eat L&L because i happened to be in provo. I have missed L&L since the salt lake location closed. I came in at 8:25 pm 45 minutes before closing. I tried to order shortribs and was told you were out. I then tried to order loco moco. I was then informed the only thing i could order was chicken katsu or shrimp. I asked why and was told it was because they already had started cleaning and didnt want to make the grill dirty. This is absolutely ridiculous. The employees laziness and lack of customer service is unreal...

Love this place. Great food. I got the Hawaiin barbecue mixed plate and I loved it. A lot of good food for the money! The chicken was awesome and the rice was perfect. The teryaki beef was good and I liked the short ribs. Also came with pasta and a cabbage salad. I played football at BYU with the owners, Itula Mili and Spencer Reid and believe me these guys know how to eat. My new favorite place to eat in Provo! So glad they also have Apple Beer!

This food is ok. The service, is HORRIBLE. Today was a great example. The girl taking my order didnt say a single word to me. When I asked if I can sub an egg for the mac and rice, she didnt respond. She is very rude. I know a handful of people that say they wont go back to L&L until shes gone. Call me crazy, but maybe hire someone that understands good customers service to work the cash register. It can make or break a customers experience.

You know that moment when you find the woman you want to spend the rest of your life with and you dont know how you lived your life without her? That is what I experienced when I ate L&L for the first time when they catered at the BYU Coaches Clinic. The chicken was so moist with an incredible marinade. I dont know how Ive lived without this food my whole life, but I can promise I will frequent L&L often.

I only eat the loco moco and the chicken katsu and thats if I dont feel like driving to Ohana Grill in Springville. I think they recently changed their staff the two ladies before werent very friendly, almost as if they didnt wanna be there. Update----------- Plan on calling at least 5 times before you can even dream about making a phone order. They never pick up the phone!!!

They close at 7 or 8pm now which is so stupid people usually sit down for dinner at that time.
Since they changed management the quality of the food has gone downhill....it just taste horrible.
we used to eat there once a week but not anymore. My family would rather eat ram and noodle at home then at L&L in provo

People need to learn how to leave a review correctly. I live in Heber and when we come to provo to grocery shop, we always come here. You have to understand the Hawaiian people and culture and food. This is a great place to eat! Great food...just try it once. I normally get the half and half with bbq chicken and the chicken katsu.

This place is great, would definitely recommend the Loco Moco, chicken katsu, and of course the spam and eggs over rice :) the only thing is it sometimes takes a little while to fill orders, even when not many people are there. Thats okay because it means everything is fresh, but if you are in a rush its not the best place to go.
