I have visited many times because it is one of the closest Indian restaurants to ASU, but that unlike restaurants with good food, necessity is literally the only reason. The buffet has poor quality food, which has often been sitting out for hours. There have been times where the curries have dried up into a chunky grease stain on the pan. Because they are not as perishable when kept out for long periods, the sweets there are at least a week old or more. Although they (hopefully!) arent expired, they are stale instead. Surprisingly enough, I have a bigger issue with the sweets than their expiration, relating to their groupon policy. Dont go there with a groupon if you dont want to play any games. The owners will do whatever they can to scam, nickel & dime you over the already stated and confirmed costs. For example, with a $14 groupon for the buffet for 2 people, they will force you to purchase their stale sweets out of pocket in order to even accept the groupon. Total cost: $18-19 before tips, pretty much the same price as their normal buffet pricing. Most likely against groupons own policies. But it doesnt matter to the scammer family because they do whatever they want. They have done this multiple times to me and various colleagues. After reporting them to groupon, all they did was update the fine print on their groupon to require a food purchase IN ADDITION TO THE BUFFET, in order for the groupon to be valid to them. What kind of lunatic business owner expects people to PAY for MORE food on top of cost the buffet you already paid for?!?!? Overall, if I wanted an authentic Indian experience, Id rather starve myself like many of the poor souls in India, than eat here again.

I love indian food and this place is the best indian restaurant I have ever been to. Im from New York City but recently moved to Arizona about a year ago and Ive been going to this restaurant ever since I found out about it. Because of where I was born and raised, Im picky when it comes to food but this place has me 100% satisfied. Me and my girlfriend Sophia found out about this place on groupon and got a really good deal on there. We were told by a very friendly worker at the restaurant that we didnt need to purchase the special on groupon in the future cause they would still give us a special without it and that works out perfect for everyone. Saves us time and saves them money. The food has a perfect indian taste and satisfies everyones craving regardless of your diet. Im a vegeterian and my girl is a meat eater and we both always have plenty to choose from when we go here. The mango lassi is heavenly, the desserts are addicting and the food leaves you dreaming about it until you go back. The selection of beers are great too. If youre looking for indian food look no further, this is the spot to go to. All you can eat, great tasting, amazing price and with a terrific atmosphere and very clean and friendly environment. I recommend this place to people all the time. My favorite place to eat at in Arizona. Heck, it even beats everywhere Ive eaten at in NYC.

This place has me hooked! It is so good! I thoroughly enjoy their paneer and their chickpeas topped with chutney, yogurt, fresh onions and tamarind. The meat dish I would recommend is the butter chicken (makhani) and the onion-smothered tandoori chicken! Those are my favorites, but ALL dishes offered at this buffet are delicious and of high, home-cooked quality. I see no good reason to eat at any full-service Indian restaurant - as this buffet is quick, affordable and deicious. And I have not tried better Indian sweets! Try their burfi - any flavor- you will not be disappointed. They will give you a sample of different flavors if you ask. And the jalebies are crunchy gooey heaven. I also recommend their mawa. Their sweets are always fresh, whether they come from the buffet or behind the counter. They put a lot of pride and effort into these complex and delectable sweets and many people including myself appreciate them. Nice, hard-working people own this place and the staff are friendly and always ready to refill your water and garlic naan - and help you with anything else you need. My husband and I come here a lot and it is by far our favorite Indian place. I always come out of here feeling full and content - and wanting more.

Worst restaurant in Phoenix, if not USA! I really dont understand if me and my wifes taste buds have gone awry or the ones who gave this restaurant a good rating, have a slightest idea of what good Indian food tastes like. Friday evening, we travelled 40 miles for dinner buffet based on the ratings. Other than butter naan, almost all the food items were stale. Paneer was mornings, we were literally told this by the worker in a tone so casual as if its a norm. Starters were samosa and pakode which were below par. Other main course items included brinjal - worst ever, chhole having more garlic than gravy and chicken items that were extremely stale esp. chicken tikka. I dont remember ever wasting this much food. By the time it came to dessert, we were exhausted of disappointment but my wife still wanted to try jalebi. I need not tell you the how it tasted. No one has a right to taste that gulab jamun or khoa barfis either. I rarely give reviews but I plead you to not visit this restaurant. If it was upto me, a food inspector would be visiting this place to save the people and our cuisine.

Its within ASU. We went on Tuesday for lunch buffet. Its $12 per person. Dont go there with the groupon as its very tricky. Coming back to food - as we are vegetarian - it was around 7-8 stuff for us. Owners are nice. Service could be slightly better as there was another customer apart from us. Samosa were for appetizer which was good. Paneer sabzi and vegeterian pulav was also good. Sweets were stale-at least a week old. Chana subji was below standard. As the owners are from Punjab in India there is no way I can expect a punjabi screwing up on Chana subji. Other curry was okay. Naans could have been fresh without any butter. They need to put the board which clearly tells how much the buffet is. I will say if they charge around $7.99 for the buffet than its reasonable for the quality and taste of food otherwise $11.99 per person is sort of rip off. I am wondering if there are so many 4 or 5 stars - why it was not at all crowded during lunch time on Tuesday. I have been to Chennai Chettinad at least more than 20 times during last 8 months...they are always crowded and serving good food.

I first got introduced to this gem through a Groupon deal two years ago. After that, I have gone back over and over again because of the quality of their dishes and the very reasonable price. The owners offer a great array of vegetarian dishes, between four to six choices which is good news for my family. But we have noticed too how content the meat-eaters are as they get their fair share of picks as well. Their Spinach paneer, okra, eggplant curry, cauliflower pakoras, among other specialties are just so rich in flavor that after a few weeks, I look forward to coming back. Its such a treat to eat here and I consider their dishes healthy comfort food to feed my soul as well. The owners have been so accommodating that even when my favorite okra or vegetarian dish is not on offer in their buffet for the day, they have said "No problem, come over for the buffet and we will make your requested dish free". I was stoked! And true enough, aside from the generous buffet on offer, I had a refillable plate of okra or my veggie dish of choice. A definite favorite for me and my fam!
