My wife and I stopped in this new 5 & Diner on Bell in Surprise just to see if it was any good. Its not. To start off, the waitress seated me in a booth with the setting sun that was so blinding, you couldnt even read the menu and although we complained about the sun, I noticed that she continued to seat other customers that were obviously upset about the seats they were assigned to for the same reason. I was wanting the fish and chips and when I asked about how fresh the fish was, she stated "I caught the fish myself this morning" but after further questioning, she admitted that the fish was frozen, not fresh so I passed on the fish. She did say that the meat loaf was homemade but for some reason, I didnt believe her so the wife and I ordered salads; how can you screw up a salad right? Well yes you can if you serve it on a warm plate with what looked like and tasted like 5 day old lettuce and with chicken that tasted like, well, I dont know what it tasted like; it was devoid of any taste what so ever. The top the whole experience off, it was obvious that I had not taken but a bite or two from the salad, a clue to the waitress that there was something wrong with this meal right?, but her response was "do you want me to box this up for you"? God no lady, I want you to throw this in the closest trash can where it belongs. Well I didnt say that but I wish I had now.

First sat down the AC was obviously not working it was a really hot inside then we ordered our food my wifes a game came eggs were slimy they were supposed to be over medium the bacon was perfect I ordered the same thing my bacon was burnt to a crisp send it back then I start to eat my hashbrowns which are burnt to a crisp and so Chewy you couldnt even cut with a fork the lady returns with new bacon even worse than the last when you touch it it just crumbled each time I told the lady she just offered to get more and it never got better needless to say I didnt eat any of it and they still charged and never offered to take it off also if your a veteran they dont offer a discount I wont eat here again very disappointed and still hungry

My wife wanted a veggie burger. We came to find out that the online menu does not reflect what this restaurant serves, because this is a Deluxe restaurant... totally different from a regular 5 & Diner. When we asked the waitress about a veggie burger, she proceeded to condescendingly "explain how the menu works." We tried to work with our options and order a regular burger with the meat separate. She told us that the request was rude and it would confuse the cooks. Whats confusing about "dont put meat on the burger?" She was visibly irritated with us and condescending the entire time. We ended up just paying for our drinks and leaving. Ill never recommend this place to anyone. Total waste of time.

We LOVE Diners, and this is now one of our favorites. My husband ordered a chocolate malt, coffee, a burger and chili cheese fries while I had the tuna melt, OJ and half caesar salad. The portions were so big I took half my meal home, fries and all. I double checked that I had ordered a half salad. Im not a fan of malts, but after tasting my husbands I can honestly say I would get one myself on our next trip, and the tuna melt was perfect. Not too much cheese, and not too much mayo in the tuna. Our total bill was less than $30 (including tip), and considering how much food we got I will attest it is very affordable.

IT is the WORSE place to eat in Surprise. We just came back from ordering a grilled liver dinner. The liver arrived RAW (uncooked) and I asked to have it cooked again. In a few minutes is arrived at the table and still raw (bloody) inside. My favorite meal and wont be able to have it for a long time again. It really made me sick. No one apologized for the poorly prepared meal. I paid and know we wont be back ever again.

Drove 15 miles to come to this place at 6 p.m. on a Friday looking forward to it considering that their sign says breakfast lunch and dinner yet showed up and the place is closed with a sign posted up that says theyre only open from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. false advertisement!! you will not get my business anymore wasting my time like this

Steve is just WRONG. If you click on his name you will see that he has a total of 5 reviews for 5 different companies and he gave every one 1 star. He obviously is never happy with anything. Steve, stay home, you will be happier. Anyhow, this is a fine diner. It is after all a diner, not a 5 star $60 a plate restaurant.

The food is well prepared and taste good. Try the cobb salad. The service is excellent an with attentive wait staff. The prices are reasonable. Live music on Monday and Thursday. You must make a reservation if Elvis will be there. The place will be packed. The other entertainers are pretty good as well.

Service was excellent, but menu was very disappointing. Ive been to other 5&Diner and this one does not compare. No diner menu at all. Closes everyday at 2PM. Had burger and it definitely was not worth $9.00. Will not go back.
