I have a concern and would like to explain. On Aug. 24, 2016 I told my friend how great Breakfast Club and was excited to take her to lunch at your restaurant in Scottsdale, Az. I told her how I enjoyed the restaurant and wanted to share it with her. I had a salad and my friend ordered fried chicken with rye and mayo, Kate was our waitress, she was professional in her job. My friend complained the sandwich tasted moldy, she gave me a bite to see what I thought I tried to chew it but couldnt handle it and I had to spit my bite out, words cant explain how bad it was. I called Kate over and explained the problem. Kate said, Thats strange that is the second......."., and she got the manager, who had dark hair and was petite. My friend explained the problem and said the sweet potato fries were very good and wanted to finish them but while eating them the manager took the plate away but we asked to box the fries up and to get some ice cream, to get the moldy taste out of our mouths. The manager brought neither the ice cream or her french fries back. Kate asked if there was something else and my friend ordered a pancake. However, that moldy taste was so prevalent neither one of us could eat our food. Kate handed us the bill, we paid and left. So I got to thinking that we shouldnt have been charged so I called Breakfast Club on Friday, Aug. 26, 2016 to explain our experience to the manager. I talked to Manager Robert and asked if he had time to listen to me. He said yes. So I explained part of our experience when he kept interrupting me about sour dough bread and some people thought it was moldy, anyway, it was quite a lengthy explanation. I didnt understand why he was talking about sour dough bread so much when she had rye. I told him we had rye I told him I was concerned my friend might get sick, and when I said that he exploded that," We dont serve moldy food and nobody dies from our food", he was quite dramatic and said many times over about "Weve had nobody DIE from our food, etc." It was quite a rant. I said, "Why are you talking about people dying?" And he said, "Well you called your friend to see if she was ok, and you are spending soooo much time talking, it is taking sooooo long. I then asked why he was arguing with me. He sounded angry and yelled if I wanted a refund on my credit card. By then I thought communication had totally broken down and was going to say, I dont think I can talk to you, I would like to talk to someone else, because I had paid cash anyway, but I only got part of my sentence out when he said "FINE!" and hung up on me. I dont care now about getting a refund, I just want to express my opinion that Manager Robert should not be working with the public. I dont want somebody else getting chewed out and experiencing such disrespect. I have lost faith in Breakfast Club

this review is basically for the management staff that was there this morning. we usually gontonthe downtown phoenix location and have never had an issue. today we drove to scottsdale specifically to go here. first off parking is horrible so be prepared. wait time was 25 min, not to bad especially it took that long to find a place to park. we were seated on the patio the server was friendly and prompt to come get drink order. then came lady who didnt announce who she was and asked if we were still in complete since there was an open chair. I stated no we are all her and my 2 yr old was standing beside me at the table. she again stated well if your incomplete you will have to get up and wait till your party is complete. I again stated we are a family of 4 we are all here and have already ordered our beverages. with a soul on her face and a raised tobe she stated I didnt need to be so rude she was just doing her job. no apology for the misunderstanding or anything. I asu med ahe was a hostess and stated as she stormed off I would like to speak with the manager. she then turned and shouted I am the manager. our nice waitress came and she apologizes and stated there is a second manager I could speak with, again a lady came to our table and just stood there. didnt address us, tell us who she was, or even an apology for the previous misunderstanding. soni expressed to her what happened and she just dismissed it and stated the other person told her that she didnt tell us we would have to leave and wait. I asked for general manager and was told she would not give that info to me either but I could leave my info which we all know what happen to that...I will not gontonthe location again that being said the food is good and service is outstanding but dont get up off your seat or they get very upset. I will patron the downtown location from now on.

I went to this place with friends and we waited about 45 minutes to be seated because we wanted to sit outside. We actually enjoyed the wait since it was a beautiful Spring morning. Outside, I noticed a couple with a dog waiting to be seated, and they actually were letting the dog drink water from cups from the restaurant. I was not happy about that...why did they use human cups for dogs? They could have used disposable... Anyways, our hostess walked us around and said our seat was assigned to someone else. She apologized and offered a seat inside. We took it. Still we were in a good mood. We got the menu and ordered our food, got our drinks. I had ordered "hot tea". they gave me a cup that was not clean, and the spoon had coffee and milk stains. I asked for a clean cup and they gave me another one with the same dirty spoon. I ended up asking for a disposable cup. I also noticed someone across our table also had the same issue and ordered a disposable cup. After that, I was so disappointed and couldnt enjoy the food. A restaurant should have clean cups and plates and spoons.

Unlike the movie, this place isnt about good times and making new friends and memories (actually I havent seen the movie so my plot description may not be accurate). This is a popular contemporary diner where you can expect a wait, and correspondingly lots of noise and bustle with the people. For food I had an omelette and chocolate chip pancake. The chocolate chip pancake was the best thing here and was loaded with chocolate chips inside and out. One on the side was a great deal and a good splurge from my attempting to avoid sugar. On the other hand, the omelette was just average. There were a decent portion of ingredients but it seemed kinda sloppily cooked and the eggs werent fluffy but had too much of a burnt crispy texture. The side of potatoes was too oily for my taste and unfortunately a lot of oil seeped over to the side of fruit. While the portions are generous, Id rather have quality over quantity. Come here for the pancakes and coffee, the proteins are sadly disappointing.
